LOGINHe screamed while staring right at me. And then the naked girl who was on top riding him also screamed her lungs out.
I stayed at the window, also screaming from shock, hurt and confusion.
“WHAT THE HELL, TORI!” Christopher shouted at me as he tried to yank the naked girl off him.
She had nothing to fear. Her whole body was out there in full display. She didn’t care that I had seen her and also seen Chris.
“I am coming inside!” I yelled through the other side of the window.
I tried to lunge myself using the wall, but in the process, something stabbed my leg. I looked down to find thorns, probably from the flowers, sticking out from my leg.
“I am coming inside!” I shouted again through the window, still determined to get through. “What the hell is wrong with you, Tori?” he asked as he tried to wrap the bottom half of his body with the bedsheets. “I am coming inside.” I tried to lunge myself again, but that time, the wall brushed my arm.
His little guest in the bed was just lying naked on the bed using her phone, totally not caring about a single thing.
“Let me open the door.” he sighed and walked out of the bedroom.
I stopped trying to ‘break in’ and eventually walked around the house again back to the front door. I heard him jingle keys before finally opening the door.
“ARE YOU STUPID? YOU COULD HAVE GOTTEN HURT!” he screamed at me the second he saw my face. “I knew you weren’t going to open the front door, and I had to make a plan.” I sighed “Baby, come back to bed. I want to finish.” the naked girl from his bedroom moaned.“Lana, give me a second!” he shouted a reply back.
I folded my arms as I frowned at him.
“So, that the Lana? The Lana that I should not worry about?” I asked bitterly, with my arms still folded over my chest. “I- I… can…Let…I can explain.” he stammered“So now you don’t know how to talk as well?” I continued to ask bitterly.
He kept quiet and just stared right at me. The whole time in our relationship, I was always the tougher one. I intimidated him more than he intimidated me. Everyone said that I had bigger balls than him in the relationship.
“Okay, Lana and I are just friends.” he finally sighed “Hm?”
My phone started to vibrate from the pocket of my shorts.
“You should probably answer that.” he calmly suggested "You should probably fall off a cliff!” I snapped
I took my phone out of my pocket and saw that my father was calling me. I simply declined the call and slid the phone back into my pocket.
“So, do you do this with all your friends, or are they only the ones that I asked about multiple times for you to say not to worry about?” I questioned him.
My phone vibrated again. I pulled it out of my pocket and saw it was my father calling me again. I declined the call.
“Just answer that. He probably needs something from you.” Chris said“No. I know you’re just looking for ways to get rid of me and trying to avoid my questions, but that’s not happening. You’re going to answer me,” I snapped.
Then, we heard footsteps coming from his bedroom. The naked girl from his bedroom, who is Lana, came walking out with no clothes.
“Do you not like clothes? Are you allergic to them or something!?” I snapped at her when she came out displaying her tiny nude body“HEY!” Chris snapped at me “Don’t speak to Lana like that!” “Yo dude, you have thorns in your leg.” Lana had the nerve to say to me while pointing at my leg“No one is speaking to you, honey.”
My phone vibrated again, but that time, it was Roni.
“WHAT?!” I barked at her“Where are you?”“Out. I went for a drive.” I crafted a lie“Well, you need to come back now,” she responded “Why?”“It’s Mom. Something has happened to her.” she cried on the other end of the phone and then ended the call.
I began to tear up in front of my ex-fiance and his new mistress.
“I totally understand how you feel. I was also this devastated when I walked in on my boyfriend of 5 months sleeping with not one, but two girls and then he told me not to worry.”
Lana pretended to feel my pain when in actuality, I was in pain about hearing Roni say that something had happened to my mother.“I have to go.” I sighed as I quickly walked towards the front door, “WE are not done discussing this. I will come back, and you, over there, will go put on some clothes.”I rushed out of the house and tried to speed my way back home, but I was stuck in a traffic jam. I looked ahead of the road and saw ambulances rushing towards the same direction as me. After hearing Roni say that something had just happened to my mother, I prayed that those ambulances that I was competing with on the road were not rushing to my house. But as unfortunate as I was on that day, they were rushing to my house.
I parked the car at the other end of the road and ran out. I sprinted to my house and found my father standing by the gate. Roni was seated on the pavement, bawling her eyes out. I rushed up to her.
“What’s wrong?” I asked “We don’t know. Dad said they were in the bedroom still talking, and then she had a seizure,” she replied while crying.
Could this day get any worse?
The medical team rushed my mother on a stretcher into the ambulance while my dad climbed into the back with them.
“Where is dad’s car?” Roni asked me“Down by the street. Why?”“We have to go to the hospital too, but there is not enough space in the ambulance. Let’s go,” she answered as she pulled my arm, and we rushed towards the car.

We reached the hospital, and they rushed my mother inside while we sat in the waiting room. My dad had his head in his hands as he teared up, thinking about all the possibilities, while Roni started pacing around the waiting room as she nervously bit her nails. I placed my leg on a chair to pull out the thorns that stabbed me.
“Eli…” an elderly man around my father’s age walked up to my dad and gave him a hug.
I had never seen him before, but he seemed to know my father well enough.
“Russo, thanks for coming.” My dad replied
Russo?
“I had to come the minute I heard about Mary. Where are the girls?” he asked.
My father pointed at us, and then they came walking towards us.
“Veronica…” Russo hugged Roni, but she quickly opted for a handshake. “I am going for a walk.” she sighed and walked away“Victoria…” he turned to me for a hug.
How did he know my name? Who was this Russo guy?
I tried to swallow the storm inside me, resisting the urge to be the dramatic person everyone expects—the one who runs out of the room crying and screaming. Yet the ache was sharp and undeniable as I watched him pull out a chair for her, the simple gesture cutting deeper than words. She slid into the seat with ease, her smile soft, her body settling comfortably beside him as if she belonged there, while I sat frozen, every breath heavy with the sting of being replaced.Jo kept looking at me, her gaze steady and unshaken, even though Roni was seated right beside her, talking endlessly about her husband and the weight of her marital issues. The words spilled from Roni like a flood, but none of them seemed to reach Jo; her attention lingered on me, quiet and deliberate, as if she were listening to something unspoken between us instead. “It is so lovely to see you again, Dove,” Katie said with a smile that lit up her face.Again? What did she mean by again?“Good evening, Dove. I am Eli
Bash slid the chair out beside me and settled in comfortably, leaving Roni stuck between Dad and me. With Dad already wrapped up in conversation with Katie, and me about to get completely lost in Bash, poor Roni suddenly had no one left to talk to.“Good evening, Mr. Carter,” Bash greeted with an easy smile as he turned to my dad.“Bash, how are you?” my father asked warmly.“I’m good, sir.”“Good.”Then Bash’s gaze shifted. “Roni,” he said with a playful wink. Her cheeks flushed instantly, the faintest blush rising as she tried to mask it with a small smile. My father was already absorbed in whatever Katie was chatting about beside him, hanging onto her every word with keen interest.“Where’s Jo?” my father asked, his voice carrying loud enough for all of us to hear.“Oh, she’s here,” Bash replied easily. “I saw her talking to someone outside.”“Oh, good!” my father nodded, clearly pleased.I couldn’t stop the heat from rushing to my cheeks. My mind wandered back to that wild night wi
Russo’s birthday night had finally arrived. I slipped into my burgundy evening dress, the silky fabric hugging my figure just right, and paired it with my favourite heels. My hair was swept up neatly, exposing the line of my neck, giving me just enough confidence to face the night ahead. The moment I opened my bedroom door, carefully lifting the hem of my dress so I wouldn’t trip, Roni’s voice rang out behind me.“Geez, someone might mistake you for the birthday girl instead,” she remarked, her tone caught between playful and pointed as her eyes lingered on me.I forced a smile, swaying past her.Roni was still nowhere near ready. She strolled around the hallway in curlers and a towel, humming to herself as if time wasn’t slipping away.“My, my, my…” my father chuckled the moment I stepped into the living room, his eyes sweeping over me with a proud smile. He was seated comfortably beside Roni’s husband.“Too much?” I asked, suddenly second-guessing my outfit.“Nope. Just perfect,” he
I couldn’t even pretend to fall asleep. After that strange conversation with Bash, my heart was pounding so hard it felt like it might burst out of my chest. My hands trembled—not just from nerves, but from something deeper, something I couldn’t even name. An uneasy feeling settled in my stomach, twisting and tightening until relaxing felt impossible.I didn’t know what Bash was planning to say the next day, but judging from the way he reacted when I told him my father knew about us, I already had a sinking feeling. It sounded like the kind of reaction someone gives when they’re preparing to pull away. Deep down, I knew Bash was probably going to tell me he didn’t want to see me anymore.I struggled to fall asleep, repeatedly picking up my phone to check Instagram, hoping he had left me a message or was typing. But the worst part was seeing that he had been online not too long ago. That unsettling churn hit my stomach again. I remembered how he said he preferred using that app to com
The truth was, was Bash really making me happy, or was it simply because I had never felt a rush of desire like this from any man before? The way his touch lingered on my skin, the way his gaze made my heart race, it was intoxicating. Every inch of me seemed to respond to him in ways I couldn't control, every moment with him felt electric.I remained frozen, staring at my father, unsure of what to say. My thoughts swirled, torn between the urge to pour everything out—my feelings for Bash, the intensity between us—and the fear of how he'd react. The idea of admitting that I had had sex with him, before he even proposed, felt overwhelming. I couldn’t imagine how he would take it. Would he be angry, disappointed, or worse, would he see me differently? “Relax,” my father continued, his voice calming. “Besides, she’s in a happy marriage. I’m not saying I’ll pick sides. As parents, we can’t pick sides when our kids are fighting. If anything, we should be the neutral ones. But… I think Bas
Bash quickly jumped off me, yanking his pants up in a rush, while I scrambled to pull up my jeans. My hands fumbled as I tried to smooth out my shirt and fix the cushions, hoping to erase any evidence of what had just happened. My heart pounded in my chest, and my breath was still uneven as I hurried toward the door, praying I didn't look as flustered as I felt.“When did you get back?” my father asked the moment his eyes landed on me.“Just a few minutes ago,” I replied, trying to steady my voice.“I saw a car in the yard and wondered who it was,” he said, stepping inside. Before I could respond, my gaze shifted to the man walking in behind him. My stomach tightened.Bash quickly stood up, smoothing out his shirt before greeting my father and the man beside him. His usual confidence was still there, but I could tell he was slightly on edge.“Oh! Bash?” my father said, eyeing him curiously.“Good morning, sir,” Bash replied, his tone polite but cautious.“Is Roni home?” my father aske
