"And why would I listen to you when your son that I broke his heart is not even worried about the heart in the first place?" Kaitlyn retorted to the older woman.

Isabella gasped softly at how rude the blonde woman was. She knew she was not the only one since she heard other gasps too that didn't have the same sound pitch as hers.

She risked another glance at Seth and shook her head at how lost he looked. Even though he was no longer touching the woman, she could still see that he was so deeply engrossed in the woman that he didn't allow himself to listen to everything she said to all the people around, including the insult to his mother.

That was what did it for Isabella. The way the man was unresponding about the insult the blonde woman threatened his mother. If he wasn't saying anything to defend his mother's respect, then she refused to feel hurt because he didn't say anything to defend her.

"Mum, let's get out of here, please." She told her mother.

"Oh, okay." Her mother responded

Seth blinked rapidly as he lowered himself to the bar stool. Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn was here. She stared at him with a raised brow, her hair falling in straight waves over her shoulders. Her blue eyes seemed to dance in amusement as she took a seat beside him. He had loved her. With every breath, every part of him, Seth had given her his all. He stared at the glass of wine the bartender slid to him, staring at the bubbling froth at the top of the glass as memories of her assailed him. They had met at a party just like this one. Seven years ago. He had just graduated fresh out of college with big dreams to make his place in the world and have a family. That was pretty normal if anyone asked him. What man fresh out of college hadn't seen the world through rose-coloured glasses? When he had attended the party, it had simply been to honour an invitation of his friend. It had been pretty fun but things took a turn for phenomenal when Kaitlyn stepped into the ball. She had taken his breath aw

Tired. Hungry. BrokeThat was what Isabella was. Broke. And the mother of two crying babies who was determined to suck the life out of her. She had wanted to be a mother. For a long while, it had been her dream and lifelong goal, but as she sat on her bed, staring at the pinkish face and loud wide mouths of her crying babies, she was considering rescinding the goal. It was far too late to do so now anyways. She thought, as she lifted Samuel, who had started the whole crying fest. She had noticed that he was always the least satisfied one and always hungry. So freaking hungry. And once he started crying, his sister had no choice but to do the same. Sighing, she tucked out her breasts from her gown, her nipples throbbing from the constant sucking. They had no teeth yet but the force at which they latched onto her caused quite a lot of pain and she had to admit it hurt. .Without realizing. Tears streamed down her face and she closed her eyes leaning against the bed's headboard. Her m

When the clock struck two in the afternoon and the sun rose high in San Francisco's sky, Seth's eyes slowly opened from a long drowsy sleep. They caught the ceiling of the room and he blinked several times to adjust his vision. At first, he felt immobile, his legs and arm laid stiffly on the bed and his body felt too heavy to move. His head pounded as if a thousand speakers were playing on his brain and he groaned. Damn, he must've drunk a ton the day before. He hadn't done that in a while and now he knew why. Getting hungover was the worst of all consequences. Slowly, he tried rolling his toes to improve his blood circulation and tapped his fingers against the bed to wake them up. What had happened the night before that had made him drink so hard? Seth closed his eyes to recollect but his head hurt too much to try and sighed. He would need Advil. A good thing he was in his mother's house then. They may disagree a lot, but she always kept a glass of water and some Advil on the beds

Isabella took a moment to reflect before straightening up to stretch her back. She had spent several minutes hunched over as she folded her baby's clothes into a big black travel box that was placed on her bed. She was wearing a long maxi purple dress and had her black hair tied up. It was completely full, and she was beginning to fear that there would be no room for their toys. She wiped sweat beads from her forehead as she glanced at her babies, who were soundly sleeping in the crib. Was she acting ethically? leaving San Francisco to return to Los Angeles? Shaking her head, she sighed. She was going to leave; she had made up her mind.As she tucked the final set of infant onesies into the bag, she tried to persuade herself that she should leave. Her urgent desire for employment was one of the main ones. She hardly knew anyone else outside of her mother in San Francisco... And Mrs Allen. But since she knew people in LA, it would be much simpler to find employment there. One who wouldn

"No." She whispered to herself as she slid down the wall. Her babies! He was going to take her babies! Isabella tugged at her hair that had fallen freely over her shoulders and felt anxiety cripple her nerves slowly. It didn't help that she was broke. A court case was impossible. She could barely afford her trip back to LA! Maybe he was joking. Isabella shook her head to shake the niggling hope away. He hadn't been joking. Dear God, Seth hadn't been joking! She had seen it in his eyes, the anger, he meant it. He meant every word of his. ...I'm done messing around, Isa...What would she freaking do if he took her children away? They were all she had left. Her everything! A sob tore low in n her throat and tears spilt from the side of her eyes. Isabella tried to swallow the sobbing sounds, but she felt so tired. Tired of fighting. Tired of struggling so hard. Tired of the drama. Tired of every freaking thing that happened. She was exhausted. And so she gave in to the pent-up emoti

The air felt so tense and thick, that Isabella thought it could be cut with a knife. She sat on the edge of her bed, still dressed in her maxi dress and had dragged the baby cot to herself so she could sit and peer at them, her mind roaming through all the possibilities. She had to find a way to keep her children to herself. Samuel cooed as she gently rocked the cot, occasionally giggling and opening his eyes lazily. His sister however remained fast asleep. Victoria was much calmer among the twins and she reminded Isabella of her sister. Rasing a thumb, she stroked the baby's cheek and giggled when Victoria's mouth opened. Almost immediately, tears spilt from her eyes. What would she do if Seth took them away? Would she even be allowed to see them or would she become completely nonexistent to the twins? A knock on the bedroom door startled her and she clutched the cot tighter to herself. "Isabella?" Her mom called out tentatively. "It's been like ten hours, honey. You can't lock yo

"Isabella, this has gone far enough!" Mrs. Rogers yelled outside the bedroom door. She had grown quite tired of her daughter's antics. Knocking harder, she yelled again. "Isabella!"Not getting a reply, she sighed. Sometimes, no, every time she missed her daughter, Irene. Irene Victoria had been calmer, sweeter and the stark opposite of Isabella. Of course, she would never compare the two sisters. She just silly missed having a cool-headed daughter who didn't make her stress or shout so much. But Irene's cool-headedness had cost her life. And her death had cost them their own family. It had caused Isabella to drift farther from her. And had sent her into this mess. Mrs. Rogers felt her heart beat in guilt. Somehow, she felt responsible. Responsible for Irene's death. Responsible for Isabella's pain. Her daughters had suffered in the hands of men and she always found out about it too late. Tired lines marred Seth's forehead as he took a bottle of gin from his mother's cabinet. His green eyes were concerned, they had lost their ever-present playfulness as he mulled over things in his mind.Grabbing a glass, he shifted to the sofa and poured himself a drink. He glanced around wondering where his mother had gone to. She seemed to have left in a hurry, he thought as he eyed her open windows. And when he had called her to tell him he had arrived, the place she was in was rather loud. "It can't be a club, can it?" He thought and chuckled at the vision of his mother in a nightclub, wearing a crop top and ragged jeans. "Nope. Definitely not a club."His phone buzzed showing the name Nate on the phone and he picked up the call. "Hey man? Have you arrived yet?"Seth took a sip of his gin and lolled the liquid about on his tongue for a while before swallowing. "Currently raiding my mother's gin collection.""Oooh, B's going to kill you." Nate sang and Seth laughed. "I'm her on

"What about the flowers?!" Seth yelled, running around the house as if he was possessed. Oh, he was possessed alright. Possessed by the need to make sure everything was perfect. Over the past week, he had learned so much about proposals, his head was heavy and filled with ideas. He'd come up with a plan to charm Isabella and get her to say yes. But then his plan got thwarted because a little birdie told him Isabella was coming to LA that day. He had wanted to pass out when Anna called him saying Isabella was arriving that day. He wasn't ready! Heck, his mother hadn't brought the flowers yet and Isabella's mom was struggling to hang balloons on the wall of the living room. "Gahhhhh!" He yelled, yanking at his freshly combed hair. "Stop that right now! It took me an hour to make it perfect!" Nate yelled from behind him and Seth shot him a glare. "How about you focus on ironing the suit instead?!" He replied."How about you iron your suit yourself! I'm not some fucking Valet. I have

"Shit! Shit! Shit!" Seth muttered when he heard the door to the house open. She was running off! Again. And it was all his stupid fault. What the hell had he been thinking?!He hadn't even been thinking at all. "Fuck!" He yelled, pounding his fist into the bed. Who could blame him?! His brain had been mashed up in the affair, he hadn't his wits around him. Saying that had been the most natural thing to do. Well, congratulations! You've managed to repulse her. He groaned, dragging a hand down his face. He had meant to mess things up. He had just wanted to make her feel special, nothing more! But instead, he had blown his plan to bits by jumping the gun. His chest hurt, and it felt hard to breathe remaining in bed as his head replayed the way she had looked at him as if the very thought of marriage disgusted her. Rising out of bed, he searched for his shirt. Or was it the very thought of marriage to him? Seth paused, a deep frown etched onto his face. There was no way she was repuls

"Hot damn," Seth panted, his head lolling against the sofa. "Fuck Bella, that was intense," Isabella smiled proudly, staring up at him. He looked so sated and quite adorable with the way his green eyes snapped open and closed at different intervals. His voice had grown thick and hoarse from groaning and she giggled. She liked this. Knowing how helpless he was to her touch. Knowing he felt intense pleasure when he was with her. Knowing that she could drive him crazy as much as he drove her crazy. "Come here," he ordered, spreading out and patting his thighs. Biting her lip, Isabella climbed on him, sighing when his semi-hard member lay against her core. Seth buried his face in her neck, kissing her at intervals while fondling her breasts. His hands found her nipples and pinched them. Isabella squirmed, getting wetter by the second and moaning at his ministrations. Beneath her, she could feel him get turgid again. "You ready?" He asked, green eyes burning as he stared into hers. When Isabella woke the next morning, Something soft and warm was pressed to her nape. She shook her head, trying to shake it off, but it simply slid down her neck in the most sensual way possible causing her to sigh deeply. "Oh that feels good," she muttered subconsciously. "Yeah?" A deep masculine voice penetrated the sleepy haze that surrounded her. She frowned. Where the hell had that come from? "Relax baby," the voice said soothingly and she found herself relaxing into the bubble of passion that encased her. She wasn't stupid, she knew who it was. She knew it was Seth, and that she was supposed to be mad at him. But oh she couldn't resist. The wonderful feel of his tongue on her skin drove her crazy with desire, setting her loins on fire. The night before, after they had both done the dishes. He had offered to watch a movie with her and like the dumbass she was, she had fallen asleep. When she woke up, it was Seth carrying her to her bed and telling her he would sleep right ne

CHAPTER 149"It was madness," he whispered. To hear him clearly, she moved closer to the door and placed her ear against it. As if he sensed her, she heard him drop to the floor and place his head on the door. Seth closed his eyes, trying to recall how he had felt while he was in a coma. "I couldn't move. And there was this thick darkness as if I was suffocating with nothing in sight." He sighed and listened in to hear her soft breathing on the other side. So fucking adorable. "It was you, you know? You kept talking and singing and doing all that shit and it was soothing. I told myself that at least if I was lost, I was lost with you. And I was fine with that Bella, you know? I was fine with just being with you. I couldn't even hear half the things you said but it was good enough for me to know you were around." Isabella blinked and tears slipped down her cheeks. Sniffing, she wiped the tears away and listened more. "When I awoke and you avoided me, I felt pretty stupid. And angr

"What are you still doing here?!" Isabella yelled at the wide-eyed man who stared back at her, the stupidest grin on his face. She had stalled at the office, wasted time like no man's business, all in hopes that he would have left by the time she got home. But in all honesty, a part of her was thrilled to see him. That part was even more delighted to see he was dressed in her apron and no shirt underneath. Her body stirred with a rather heavy need to hump him and that spurred on anger. Why the hell did he look like he belonged there?! His hair, blonde and touseled playfully fell over his green eyes. His muscles flexed and contracted as he walked towards her, smiling. "You're home," he grinned, leaning forward to pat her hair. As if she were some five-year-old in need of fucking reassurance. It was all too much! She had left him just for a day and he had turned her apartment and life upside down. He was making fish broth! Fish broth! She couldn't remember the last time she had mad

Her house was quite serene, Seth mused as he wiped the kitchen windows with a soaked napkin. The house was quiet and peaceful and he wasn't sure he could remember the last time he had lived in such a quiet environment. He had to admit, the scenery was beautiful. All green, with tall trees that swayed from side to side. I could stay here forever with her, he thought with a stupid grin on his face. After finally seeing her, after all the many days he had to spend without her, he could live in a fucking igloo as long as she was there. He would need her fire to keep warm. "And God knows she has too much of it burning inside her." He muttered to himself, inspecting the cleaned window, and nodded. That was the last window to clean on his window-cleaning journey. It wasn't like he had anything better to do than to wait for Isabella to arrive from work. Another grin wormed its way to his face and he chuckled. It was quite ironic, she was at work and he was cleaning the house. Like some hou

Dash it! Dash it all to pieces, Isabella thought as she walked into the company. She was mortally exhausted and it had everything to do with the blonde in her house with sparkling green eyes that made her legs jelly. His stupid grin, his infuriating smirk, and his deliciously hot chest drove her crazy! Isabella tossed her head in a groan, trying to get rid of the image of him in her head. How the hell was she supposed to do so? He infiltrated her senses and drove her insane with desire and anger, it was madness! All she could think about, all that had kept her up all night was the feel of his mouth against hers. Hard and demanding. She ought to have kicked him out immediately when he stepped into the shower with her. Scratch that, she should have thrown him out the minute he stepped into her house. But Isabella had yearned for him, every minute they were apart. Every fucking second was a torture she felt she had imposed on herself. When he stepped in, discarding his clothes until he

Isabella turned in her bed the next morning and groaned in pain. Pressing her hand to her head, it hurt a little.“Maybe it was the wine," she thought, getting out of her bed.Strangely, she had dreamt of Seth. Remembering it, she felt disgusted and excited at the same time.“Thank God it was only a dream," she said as she left her room. Stepping into the living room, Isabella noticed Seth curled up in a blanket. He had passed the night on the couch. “It was not a dream, after all, fuck this hangover.” She said, rolling her eyeballs.Memories of the last night came back to her, and she remembered walking out on Seth during dinner when he refused to tell her why he was there. With the way things turned out, she expected that Seth would be gone, but there he was sleeping peacefully on the couch. “Am I admiring him now?” Isabella thought to herself. She had stood there for some time staring at his face. She walked back to her room quietly and sat on her bed. Checking the time, it was b
