"You're really doing this?" Nate asked his best friend as they alighted the vehicle. The sun overhead was pale and barely warmed the air around them. He shivered and followed after Seth who took long determined strides towards the Clinic.

Benson's IVF clinic was well known for its reproductive and fertility services. They stood tall and proud, with white hospital walls that smelled like disinfectant.

Seth scrunched his face as he walked in, trying to allow his nose to adjust to the horrid hospital smell. He, like pretty much all normal people out there, hated hospitals. The smell, the memory, the sick people, a shudder rippled through him as he thought about them.

"Seth?" Nate called behind him looking rather befuddled.

He chuckled. He would be confused too if his friend woke him suddenly with a call asking him to accompany him to a darned fertilization clinic.

"I mean this, man." He explained, feeling pretty energetic at the thought.

Seth's plan was simple. He would donate his sperm, and get the hospital to hire him a surrogate mother. Preferably a beautiful woman who didn't know who he was since he couldn't risk his only child looking as ugly as heck. And then allow her to have his baby. Once the baby was weaned for three months, he would pay her off and collect the child from her.

Easy peasy, lemon squeezy. People did that kind of stuff all the time.

"You want a baby?!" Nate exclaimed, his face morphed into one of horror. He was the complete opposite of his friend when it came to looks. His hair was dark as night, his face square with a Roman nose. His eyes were a stark black that sometimes scared the crap out of Seth when he stared too intensely. He was huge and more muscular. If Seth was the image of a Greek god, then Nate was a Roman gladiator.

Seth gave him a furtive glance. "Yes, I want a baby. What's so horrible about that?"

Nate stopped abruptly. "I don't understand. If you want a baby, why not shag a woman and have it like a freaking normal person?"

Seth sighed and turned around to face him. He stretched his hands out in the air. "Because I don't want the woman, Nathaniel. Get it now?"

Nate didn't get it. He watched as his friend turned around to keep walking. Seth could have any woman he wanted at the snap of his fingers. Heck, Nate had seen him cause a woman to orgasm with just an intense look, it was crazy. Why the heck did he need the doctors to help him get a woman pregnant?

"I still don't get it." He told Seth as they approached the doctor's office.

Seth shrugged and pushed the door open. It didn't matter if people understood or not. He knew what he wanted and he was going to have it.

"Hello, Mr. Allen," The doctor, a middle-aged man with his black hair tied in a ponytail, greeted them. He looked Hispanic, dressed in suspender flowery pants and a white shirt.

The duo backtracked to take in the sight.

"I thought doctors were supposed to wear all white or something," Seth muttered.

The doctor giggled. "And I thought billionaires were supposed to be smart."

The heck?

Seth glanced at Nate who looked like he was ready to bail. When his secretary had booked the appointment for him, he had no idea she was setting him up to meet a gigolo. Feeling annoyed, he pinched his nose to calm himself and gave the doctor a placid look.

"Let's just get this over with, shall we?"

***

"That was weird! More reasons to never come here again," Nate spat as they exited the doctor's office.

Seth arched a brow. "We'll be coming back in four months to check in the surrogate."

Nate snarled his lips in disgust. "And how do you know they'll find one? What if it doesn't even work?"

"Oh, it'll work." Seth grinned manically. "It had better worked. I didn't jerk my wad into a bottle for nothing."

All would go according to his plan. This was the only way to end his mother's tirade and satisfy her. She wanted a grandchild, she would get one. He would make sure of it.

"It's either this or-" He was cut short by someone smacking into him. The impact caused him to double over and he groaned in pain. "Right in the stomach."

"Why don't you look where you're going?!" A feminine scream caused him to glance up.

A woman glared down at him with such venom in her brown eyes that he wondered if he had shagged and dumped her before.

"Do I know you?" He asked, straightening until he towered above her.

She scoffed, flipping her black hair over her shoulders. "Not in the least. If I was going to know anyone, it wouldn't be some pervert who goes around bumping into women on purpose! Absolutely disgusting!"

His jaw dropped to the floor and he glanced behind him in wonder. Was she referring to someone else?

"Me?!" He asked, bewildered.

The black-haired woman gave a harsh laugh and glanced at the brunette beside her. "And now he plays dumb. Classic act, don't you think?"

"Isa, calm down-"

"Are you kidding me? You bumped right into me. Are you crazy? Why would I want to bump into you?" He snarled, feeling anger burn in his veins. She wasn't even crazy beautiful! Heck, he had seen and banged better!

Her hair was black and didn't inspire his imagination. She was dressed in a ridiculous clumpy sweater and some long boring skirt that he'd bet she weighed four hundred pounds. Her eyes were brown and dull and lacked lustre. She was definitely not on the list of women he wanted to bump into!

"Of course. You're despicable! The whole lot of you are!" She spat and pushed past him.

Her friend looked at him apologetically. "I'm sorry. She's going through tough times-"

The crazy black-haired growled. "–Anna, stop apologizing to the enemy and let's go!"

Nate burst into laughter while Seth glared at her.

"Go screw yourself!" He fumed.

She flipped him the finger and retorted. "I intend to. That's why I'm in a crappy fertility clinic!"

And with that, she turned around and strutted into the doctor's office he had just exited. Seth frowned, "Was that a swing to her hips in her skirt just now?"

Nate exploded into more laughter at the look on Seth's face as he watched the woman go.

When Isabella got into the doctor's office, she let out the breath she had been holding and sunk into a chair. Anna closed the door behind her, giving her a pointed look.

"What the heck was that?" She demanded.

Isabella groaned. "He was so gorgeous, Anna. Did you see those eyes? Did you see him, Anna?"

"I'm not blind, Isa. What I don't get is why you threw a shitty tantrum out there. "

Isabella pouted, feeling the tension that had built up inside her slowly dissipate. "It was either that or swoon at his feet."

"I'm right here but it's okay. Go on like I'm not here. This would make a good show." A foreign voice intruded and the duo turned to look at the hippy doctor.

Anna sighed wistfully. "And I thought this day couldn't get any weirder."

Isabella chuckled. "As long as this gets me a baby without some meddling man attached, I'm good."

The hippy doctor smiled and picked up a file from his desk. "Then you're at the right place. It says here that you booked an appointment last week. And this week's your prime time for ovulation."

Isabella nodded, clasping her hands together on her thighs. Anna stood beside her, squeezing her shoulder in comfort.

"Then you know that you'll have to come here for six cycles before pregnancy is assured."

She nodded again and crossed her fingers. They had declared her fertile when she had taken the test the past week, but Artificial Insemination was only 40.5 percent accurate. That didn't leave much to hope for.

"Perfect then. I'll have a nurse escort you to the ward where the insemination will take place. Just relax and enjoy the ride." The doctor announced and went ahead to ring for a nurse.

Anna leaned down to whisper in her ear. "Are you sure about this, Isa? There's no turning back once you get there."

Isabella closed her eyes, reflecting on how the past ten years ahead worked out for her. She had lived with high hopes that she would one day find a man who would treat her with the love, care, and respect she deserved. All she got in return was heartbreak, pain, and anger.

Of course, she was ready. She would start a new life with her child. She would love and cherish and pamper him or her.

Opening her eyes, she glanced up at Anna, smiling softly. "I'm ready, Ann."

Anna gushed from the phone she held in her hands. "You'll look like an elephant in a few days. You're happy with that?"Isabella rolled her eyes, giggling. "Yes. I'm fine with it, you pessimist. Seth Allen stared at the wide-open doors of Benson IVF clinic, in apprehension and worry. It had been six solid months since he last stepped within the wide hospital walls. His knuckles turned white from gripping the steering wheel too tight. It wasn't that he was ashamed to go in. Heck, he had walked in proudly, happy about the thought of having a bouncing, healthy child. And for the first month, he had waited earnestly for a call from the clinic, telling him they had found a surrogate for him. At least that would've put his mother at rest. But he had gotten nothing. Neither a call nor a text. In the weeks that followed, he slowly forgot. It wasn't his fault, he had a company to run. Thousands of employees at Allen and Sons depended on him for their daily bread. He had been thoroughly busy, setting up a new branch in New Zealand. Signing a partnership contract that would help put his company on the front lines, doing charity, and getting laid in between. He had forgotten all about

Isabella's eyes widened in horror as she took in the reddish-brown liquid that trailed down her legs. A sharp pain struck her abdomen again and she gasped in pain clutching her swollen belly. "No. No, no!" She looked at the shocked doctor who stood frozen. "What's happening? What's happening to my baby?!"The doctor seemed to wake up at her scream and lunged into action. "I need a stretcher! Clear out the emergency ward right now!" The woman yelled, visibly shaking. She glanced at the pregnant woman who was hunched over and then at the man who looked confused."What's wrong with her? Is the baby coming out?" Seth asked, hating that he sounded foolish. Numbers and accounting he could work with, but a pregnant woman looking like she would pass out? What the heck was he supposed to do about it? He took a few steps hesitantly towards her and patted her back. "There, there?""Don't touch me!" Isabella hissed, glaring at him fiercely. "Whoa." He reared back, surprised. "I'm trying to comfo

"Get away from me, you arrogant man," Isabella screamed and immediately regretted the action as she felt a slight pain in her stomach. That reminded her of what had happened earlier and she held Seth's arm immediately, forgetting her hatred for him. "Please tell me my baby is fine." She pleaded with him.The first thought on Seth's mind was to make her pay for her rude behavior towards him. But then, he remembered that she could fall into another panic mood and truly lose the baby. This means that he would forever remain fatherless. According to the doctor who had attended to him at the time he had the accident, he had only a 10% chance of ever healing and fathering a child. Which means no chance at all to him."You're fine and so is the baby. Just stop screaming because I hate it." He finally answered her. He watched as she relaxed visibly and he scoffed. What was the score with her anyway?"Now that that is out of the way, can you get out of my room?" Isabella hissed at him.Just as

Isabella had spent almost a week at the hospital and not once had she seen the man who claimed to want his baby. While she was grateful for his absence, she thought about how badly that reflected on the man if she was to judge him by his words and actions. Besides, why was he suddenly back after almost seven months? Where had he been since then? Why hadn't he bothered about the sperm? Why now of all times? The more she thought about it, the more confused she got about the whole situation. One thing she knew however was the fact that she was sure the man would be back. If not soon, then it would be later. She has to find a way to keep herself and her baby away from him."Who knows if he didn't come because he already knew how long I would be here?" She asked herself."Who are you talking about?"The sudden voice startled Isabella and she looked up out of fear. Seth Allen walked into Benson's IVF clinic with a huge smile pasted on his face. Yes, he was happy because he finally came to the best decision that would make the stubborn woman give his child to him as soon as she gives birth. He petted the cheque for three million dollars in his chest pocket and smiled again.Nate might think that the woman was stubborn and had no price or ways to make her submit but he didn't think that was. Every poor person out there has a price and that price is always money. It just depends on the individual to know the price that could bring them to their feet.He knew how true that thought of his was since this was not the first time he had gone through the same route to have his wish done. And at all the other times, those people had let go of whatever integrity they had and they had accepted the deal he brought to them. So, why wouldn't she?"Let me see how she refuses to accept this cheque that would forever change her generation." He muttered to himself j

Isabella felt lighter now that she didn't have to be tense, thinking about the appearance of the man called Seth. The way he would feel knowing that she had just cut him off from her baby's life permanently. As if her baby shared in the joke, she felt a kick."I know, right? Honey, that man is just plain stupid." She rested her hands on her tummy as she spoke."Why do all pregnant women do this?" A man chuckled to his walking colleague as they passed by Isabella. "Even my wife would spend hours talking to our unborn daughter."Isabella smiled to herself. Of course, pregnant women would do that since the action allowed them to feel very close to their child. It was sort of like creating a mother and child bonding moment."Especially when it's just the two of us, right?" "What about the flowers?!" Seth yelled, running around the house as if he was possessed. Oh, he was possessed alright. Possessed by the need to make sure everything was perfect. Over the past week, he had learned so much about proposals, his head was heavy and filled with ideas. He'd come up with a plan to charm Isabella and get her to say yes. But then his plan got thwarted because a little birdie told him Isabella was coming to LA that day. He had wanted to pass out when Anna called him saying Isabella was arriving that day. He wasn't ready! Heck, his mother hadn't brought the flowers yet and Isabella's mom was struggling to hang balloons on the wall of the living room. "Gahhhhh!" He yelled, yanking at his freshly combed hair. "Stop that right now! It took me an hour to make it perfect!" Nate yelled from behind him and Seth shot him a glare. "How about you focus on ironing the suit instead?!" He replied."How about you iron your suit yourself! I'm not some fucking Valet. I have

"Shit! Shit! Shit!" Seth muttered when he heard the door to the house open. She was running off! Again. And it was all his stupid fault. What the hell had he been thinking?!He hadn't even been thinking at all. "Fuck!" He yelled, pounding his fist into the bed. Who could blame him?! His brain had been mashed up in the affair, he hadn't his wits around him. Saying that had been the most natural thing to do. Well, congratulations! You've managed to repulse her. He groaned, dragging a hand down his face. He had meant to mess things up. He had just wanted to make her feel special, nothing more! But instead, he had blown his plan to bits by jumping the gun. His chest hurt, and it felt hard to breathe remaining in bed as his head replayed the way she had looked at him as if the very thought of marriage disgusted her. Rising out of bed, he searched for his shirt. Or was it the very thought of marriage to him? Seth paused, a deep frown etched onto his face. There was no way she was repuls

"Hot damn," Seth panted, his head lolling against the sofa. "Fuck Bella, that was intense," Isabella smiled proudly, staring up at him. He looked so sated and quite adorable with the way his green eyes snapped open and closed at different intervals. His voice had grown thick and hoarse from groaning and she giggled. She liked this. Knowing how helpless he was to her touch. Knowing he felt intense pleasure when he was with her. Knowing that she could drive him crazy as much as he drove her crazy. "Come here," he ordered, spreading out and patting his thighs. Biting her lip, Isabella climbed on him, sighing when his semi-hard member lay against her core. Seth buried his face in her neck, kissing her at intervals while fondling her breasts. His hands found her nipples and pinched them. Isabella squirmed, getting wetter by the second and moaning at his ministrations. Beneath her, she could feel him get turgid again. "You ready?" He asked, green eyes burning as he stared into hers. When Isabella woke the next morning, Something soft and warm was pressed to her nape. She shook her head, trying to shake it off, but it simply slid down her neck in the most sensual way possible causing her to sigh deeply. "Oh that feels good," she muttered subconsciously. "Yeah?" A deep masculine voice penetrated the sleepy haze that surrounded her. She frowned. Where the hell had that come from? "Relax baby," the voice said soothingly and she found herself relaxing into the bubble of passion that encased her. She wasn't stupid, she knew who it was. She knew it was Seth, and that she was supposed to be mad at him. But oh she couldn't resist. The wonderful feel of his tongue on her skin drove her crazy with desire, setting her loins on fire. The night before, after they had both done the dishes. He had offered to watch a movie with her and like the dumbass she was, she had fallen asleep. CHAPTER 149"It was madness," he whispered. To hear him clearly, she moved closer to the door and placed her ear against it. As if he sensed her, she heard him drop to the floor and place his head on the door. Seth closed his eyes, trying to recall how he had felt while he was in a coma. "I couldn't move. And there was this thick darkness as if I was suffocating with nothing in sight." He sighed and listened in to hear her soft breathing on the other side. So fucking adorable. "It was you, you know? You kept talking and singing and doing all that shit and it was soothing. I told myself that at least if I was lost, I was lost with you. And I was fine with that Bella, you know? I was fine with just being with you. I couldn't even hear half the things you said but it was good enough for me to know you were around." Isabella blinked and tears slipped down her cheeks. "What are you still doing here?!" Isabella yelled at the wide-eyed man who stared back at her, the stupidest grin on his face. She had stalled at the office, wasted time like no man's business, all in hopes that he would have left by the time she got home. But in all honesty, a part of her was thrilled to see him. That part was even more delighted to see he was dressed in her apron and no shirt underneath. Her body stirred with a rather heavy need to hump him and that spurred on anger. Why the hell did he look like he belonged there?! His hair, blonde and touseled playfully fell over his green eyes. His muscles flexed and contracted as he walked towards her, smiling. "You're home," he grinned, leaning forward to pat her hair. As if she were some five-year-old in need of fucking reassurance. It was all too much! She had left him just for a day and he had turned her apartment and life upside down. He was making fish broth! Fish broth! She couldn't remember the last time she had mad

Her house was quite serene, Seth mused as he wiped the kitchen windows with a soaked napkin. The house was quiet and peaceful and he wasn't sure he could remember the last time he had lived in such a quiet environment. He had to admit, the scenery was beautiful. All green, with tall trees that swayed from side to side. I could stay here forever with her, he thought with a stupid grin on his face. After finally seeing her, after all the many days he had to spend without her, he could live in a fucking igloo as long as she was there. He would need her fire to keep warm. "And God knows she has too much of it burning inside her." He muttered to himself, inspecting the cleaned window, and nodded. That was the last window to clean on his window-cleaning journey. It wasn't like he had anything better to do than to wait for Isabella to arrive from work. Another grin wormed its way to his face and he chuckled. It was quite ironic, she was at work and he was cleaning the house. Like some hou

She was mortally exhausted and it had everything to do with the blonde in her house with sparkling green eyes that made her legs jelly. His stupid grin, his infuriating smirk, and his deliciously hot chest drove her crazy! Isabella tossed her head in a groan, trying to get rid of the image of him in her head. How the hell was she supposed to do so? He infiltrated her senses and drove her insane with desire and anger, it was madness! All she could think about, all that had kept her up all night was the feel of his mouth against hers. Hard and demanding. She ought to have kicked him out immediately when he stepped into the shower with her. Scratch that, she should have thrown him out the minute he stepped into her house. But Isabella had yearned for him, every minute they were apart. Every fucking second was a torture she felt she had imposed on herself. When he stepped in, discarding his clothes until he

Remembering it, she felt disgusted and excited at the same time.“Thank God it was only a dream," she said as she left her room. Stepping into the living room, Isabella noticed Seth curled up in a blanket. He had passed the night on the couch. “It was not a dream, after all, fuck this hangover.” She said, rolling her eyeballs.Memories of the last night came back to her, and she remembered walking out on Seth during dinner when he refused to tell her why he was there. With the way things turned out, she expected that Seth would be gone, but there he was sleeping peacefully on the couch. “Am I admiring him now?” Isabella thought to herself.
