Why do you keep doing this?

MERLIN

"Can we talk, Arya?!" I yelled as I followed after her. "Stop being like this!"

"Stop following me!" She retorted as she hurried away.

I couldn't help but sigh at her behaviour.

Arya has been like this since Alpha Daniel's visit and his so-called warning has been the most annoying part of our lives.

She wouldn't tell me, but she keeps acting like she's preparing for something big. Something that might hurt us all.

Now, she's asking to leave the pack in search of Allison herself.

A request I would never approve.

I caught up to her as she rounded a corner and grabbed her hand.

"What on earth is wrong with you, Arya?" I sighed. "Why do you keep doing this?"

"I'm doing nothing," she retorted. "You won't let me do anything."

"I won't let you put yourself in danger just because you're searching for Allison."

"Then let me go!" She yelled as she yanked her hand away from mine. "Why do you keep acting like I can't take care of myself?"

"I didn't say so," I replied. "I'm asking you to let me help you."

"With what, huh?" She asked. "What exactly do you think you're helping me with?"

"That's what I wanna know!" I retorted. "Why do you want to see Allison?"

"I won't say a word of our conversation to you, Merlin," she hissed. "If you don't trust me then it's fine. Let me leave the kingdom. I am not a helpless human. I'm a werewolf, Merlin!"

I stared at her for a bit and then walked ahead of her.

"Follow me."

She stood still for a few seconds before moving.

"This had better be worth my time."

We walked down the hallway in utter silence, the sound of our steps being the only sound between us. I led her deeper into the hallway until we are in a large hall, one that used to be a training facility.

She stared at me coldly once she entered and then looked around.

"Why are we here?"

I took off my jacket and rolled my sleeves as I spoke.

"Have we ever fought before, Arya?"

There was a bit of silence before she replied.

"No?"

"Well, I am pretty powerful," I continued as I turned to her. "But, even I would need more time and preparation before plunging myself into the human society."

She didn't say a word in response so I kept talking.

"There are only three reasons I can think of for you to be so intent on finding Allison."

I walked slowly and steadily towards her as I outlined my thoughts.

"One, you have some ulterior motive of hurting her. You haven't been in the best of terms for years."

"Never in a million years," she spat.

"Two, you want to work with her against a serious threat which seems unlikely."

She said nothing in response.

"Three, you have something against me."

She also didn't respond.

"Judging by your reaction, it's either the second or third reason," I said.

I was standing a few inches from her, towering over her with my eyes glowing.

"Fight me, Arya."

Her eyes widened as she glared at me.

"What are you talking about?!"

"You heard me," I shrugged.

"You're asking me to fight you?" She asked. "Why would I do that?"

"If my guess is right and your reasons for finding Allison is one of the other two reasons I mentioned, it's even more reason for you to fight me and prove your strength," I explained calmly. "If you are going to do something as stupid as going into the human society alone, then you should expect to be defeated and captured if you can't at least beat me. I am not sure of winning against those beings at the moment since the never fight alone and they've got weapons too, so you definitely wouldn't stand a chance if you can't beat me."

"I never said I would be fighting," she replied.

"Well, if you would be going there then you can expect to come across a fight too. They aren't exactly known for being peaceful."

She glared at me but said nothing in response.

"You can't convince Allison to come home, Arya," I sighed. "You can't talk her out of anything. We both know why she left. You should be the last person she would ever want to see. The same goes for me."

"Then why are you searching for her?" She hissed.

"Because I can bring her back by force," I said calmly. "You can't."

She glared at me and I was quickly reaching my wit's end.

"Would you just leave me to my devices, Merlin?" She asked. "Just let me be."

"I can't, Arya," I sighed as I stared into her eyes. "You know that. I can't do that. I would never do that."

"Why?!" She hissed. "Why won't you just let me be?"

"You know why," I replied calmly even as I felt my anger growing.

"I don't," she hissed. "I know nothing."

"I love you, Arya," I said, eager to get her to take her mind off this. "And I would never put the woman I love in harm's way. I can handle this alone."

"You don't prove it, Merlin" she replied. Her voice had no trace of anger in it. Instead, it expressed sadness. "I wouldn't be surprised if you are just using me."

"Look into my eyes," I told her as I placed my hand on her chin and lifted her face so that I stared into her eyes and she stared into mine.

"Arya," I said calmly. "I would never love anyone like I love you. I have never doubted my love for you. I am certain that I love you and no one else."

She stared into my eyes and sighed.

But-"

"We will deal with Allison issue as well," I said. "Together."

I closed the distance between our lips before she can say another word, wrapping her lips with mine.
