GEORGE
I could barely stop myself from pacing about in my room from all the worry and tension building up inside me. My body felt hot from it all and my mind felt numb. I soon felt Eleanor's reassuring hand on my back as her soothing voice asked me. "What's wrong?" "I just can't believe it," I said as I finally calmed down just a little bit. "Of all the people I thought I'd be facing in court, I didn't expect it to be Jesse. I mean, I knew he might not like me, but I didn't think he would go as far as eagerly trying to send me to jail." "Well," she shrugged. "I don't think that should be your focus right now. What is done is done. You need to focus on winning your court case." I stared at her for a few minutes in silence but she wasn't even paying attention to me. Her eyes were looking at the floor and there was no surprise in her features that Jesse was the frontrunner of the court case against me. As if she had expected it already. "You don't seem too surprised by it," I stated cautiously. "Is there something you aren't telling me?" "Nope," she replied calmly. "It's just been too obvious that Jesse doesn't like you. You must get be the only one who doesn't notice how much he dislikes you. It'll be fine though. I can assure you of that. You've done all you can to prepare for this. We just have to believe in victory now." Her eyes once again leave mine and were once again trained on the floor which is unusual for the ever composed Eleanor. Lowering my voice and moving closer to her, I decided to satisfy my curiosity. "Is something wrong, Eleanor?" I asked as I held her hand and led her to the bed where she sat down without resistance. "There's nothing wrong," she sighed. "Everything is fine. Trust me." "It's hard to do that when your features betray your words so much," I replied calmly. "You can't lie to me, Eleanor. At least not at this point of our relationship. Your face tells me clearly that you have a lot on your mind." "And you have a lot you're dealing with as well," she retorted. "You have a court case and a terrible result ahead should you lose it. You are still dealing with your memories coming back, the attack on your parents, Zhara's betrayal and then the pain from your accident. You shouldn't worry about me." "I have nothing to worry about if not you, Eleanor," I sighed. "You basically are my future. You have my kids in you and you're mine right now. You are everything I can be sure I have left. You are everything I have to worry about." She stared at me for a few seconds without words and then let out an exhausted sigh. "Don't become all romantic on me now," she smiled. "I'm too pregnant to enjoy it." I laughed as well at her statement, forgetting the problems I soon have to face in a few minutes from now. "Well, I mean every word," I said. "So, tell me. What's going on with you? What do you have on your mind?" "Well," she sighed as she looked up at the ceiling. "It's been quite a rollercoaster ride since I met you. I mean, I don't regret but I can't say it's been a rosy experience either. It's had its ups and downs and the downs are especially thorny while the ups are extremely beautiful as well." "What do you mean?" I asked with a puzzled expression. "Do you know how crazy it was to find out that my one night stand was my boss, which meant he was my father's friend?" she asked. "You could say I was more than shocked when I realized that, and almost terrified." "You make me sound like a mean old man," I laughed. "You don't really strike me like an old man but you definitely were mean," she laughed as well, her beautiful voice like a musical melody in my ears. "You pretended like you didn't know me even after realising that you absolutely railed me that night. That really hurt." "No, you started that," I retorted with a smile. "You pretended not to know me first and kept things very professional between us. I literally had to make you acknowledge our acquaintance." "That's why you stalked me, isn't it?" she grinned. "Looking back at it, I should have filed a restraining order against you." "That wouldn't have stopped me," I replied proudly. "I'll only come at you harder." "Weirdo," she laughed as she playfully tapped me. "You were especially protective when my ex tried to blackmail and abuse me. Realising that you were my ex's boss was quite a shocker in itself. It felt like the surprises never stopped rolling in." "They never did stop," I laughed. "With you, it had never been boring even for a second. It felt like my life of stagnation slowly started moving again once you came into it." "Well, my life was no different," I replied with a sigh. "A lot of revelations were made to me since I met you. Things I might have lived my whole life without knowing." I stared at her knowingly. She was talking about Zhara and her personality. She must have missed having a mother when she was younger but Zhara might have made her glad she didn't. "You remember when you told me that you'd make my life hell if I left you," she added with a somber tone. "Somewhere down the line, I got pregnant. I was kinda glad to be having your children. I thought my life was finally falling in place." She paused for a few seconds and then sighed. "Then I caught my parents fucking in a public bathroom," she said. "Do you know how fucked up that is? To find the people who gave birth to you doing the same disgusting act in front of you?" I remain in silence as I couldn't think of the perfect word to tell her. I just let her vent her frustrations out. Her eyes began to become glassy as tears Welles up in their depths. "I don't know what to do, George," she sobbed as she let the tears flow freely. "I'm trying. I'm really trying. Everytime something seems to be getting better, something ruins it. Everytime I get used to a bad situation, something makes it even worse. I am tired of living in a loop of problems with the loop getting even more complicated, twisted and surprising everyday." "I understand, Eleanor," I say as I wrap my hands around her, pulling her closer into a hug. "My life might not be as chaotic as yours since you have to deal with my problems as well as yours, but I can genuinely say I understand how terrible it feels to wanna escape that loop so bad that you try everything within your power and still lose in the end." "That's too cruel," she shook her head. "I don't wanna give birth to my children in a world like this." "You won't," I say as I hold her head close to my chest. "I would give my kids the most peaceful childhood anyone could ask for." She let her head rest on my chest for a few minutes and then sighed audibly. "I wanna ask about something, George," she says and I remain silent as my affirmation for her to continue, which she did. "Am I a bad person if I don't feel happy about something that should be judged as a happy event?" "It would depend on the conditions under which you were given the news," I replied calmly. "Zhara is pregnant for John," she said, surprising me. "I don't know how to feel about it. It hurts and yet.....I don't know." I was also at a loss for words for a while and eventually, I let out a tired sigh. "Congratulations, Eleanor," I said as I hugged her tighter. "Congratulations on your new brother."GEORGE After letting Eleanor pour her heart out to me, we remained in each other's arms for a while longer than what we originally had in mind. I kissed her and she returned my kiss as we enjoyed each other's company for a while, reluctant to disengage from the hug.Regretfully though, we eventually had to.The time for my court case is drawing closer and I needed to be there as early as possible. I needed to discuss with my lawyer before the case starts and since I'm the defendant, it's common courtesy to not be tardy. With that in mind, we both hurriedly freshened up and got dressed, ready to go begin my first court case and the beginning of the process that decides my fate and the possibility of watching my children be born into this world. Once we reached the car and got in, an awkward silence settled between us. Eleanor's mind seemed to have wandered as she stared out the window absentmindedly. I on the other hand, had a lot on my mind as well. Staring at her pregnant figure
GEORGE I freshened and dressed up quickly as Eleanor slept, fatigued from all the activities she had done the day before. I stared at her with a smile and hoped this moment was frozen in time. The peaceful expression on her face as she slept was nothing short of beautiful. I could imagine her smiling and I couldn't help it as my heart melted at the thought of it. I immediately took out my phone and took a picture of that expression before she woke. I regretted that decision almost immediately.I had forgotten that I have the flash on and with the flash of the bright light on her face and the shutter sound as well, she stirred.I had forgotten how light she sleeps. Her beautiful eyelids fluttered open and she stared into my dumbfounded as I froze in place. She blinked a few times before her eyes focused on me."What are you doing?" she asked in a sleepy yet melodious voice."Getting prepared for the hospital," I replied as I stood back up. "I need to go do a check-up. It's been a wh
GEORGE The next day after my encounter with my mother, I decided to leave the house and go to work to at least clear my mind. I had a lot to think of since I saw my mom and I didn't want Eleanor to see me that troubled. She would definitely panic. The woman is pregnant right now. She was already dealing with enough.I left early before she woke up so that she doesn't stop me and even though it felt weird, I was now parked in front of my office building. Church. The place where my love story had started and the place where I had also experienced the most part of my life to. I wonder how they will treat me now that I'm suspected of murder. I can imagine they would be terrified.Taking a deep breath, an habit I had developed over time since i got into all of this mess, I got out of my car and strolled inside like nothing happened. The office fell silent as everyone of my workers tried to act busy and avoid looking into my eyes. I heard a few greetings but others felt forced while I di
GEORGE I let out a tired groan as I opened my eyes, my thoughts jumbled as a splitting headache assaulted me. I opened my eyes to the feeling of something heavy on my arm, a familiar weight like someone was laying on me. I remembered I left Eleanor last night and went to see Naomi but don't remember leaving Naomi. My eyes widened as the sudden realisation hit me and I looked beside me hurriedly and to my horror, found Naomi laying beside me. She was nude. I could tell from her breasts and nipples that peeked out of the cover sheets and I didn't need to check to realise that I was nude as well."What the fuck did I do?" I sighed as the memories of last night and the things we did flashed through my mind, causing me to visibly grimace. This shouldn't have happened.I untangled myself from her and got up from the bed as quietly as I could to avoid waking her. I don't even want to have a conversation with her right now. I wanted to be as far away from her as possible. I needed to thi
HARRYOur destination was an extremely luxurious skyscraper, one of the futuristic kind. Futuristic in the sense that there were no doors on the ground floor. Infact, it was inaccessible from the outside. We were here to see George Grail.Numerous elevators were stationed around the perimeter of the building, leading up to even the highest floor. The entrances to the building were only accessible through the elevators, making it nigh impossible for an intruder to get out, but with good defense also helps the intruder keep others out. Kate stared at the highest floor with a somewhat distant expression, an almost reluctant expression. After a while, she let out a sigh."I guess I don't exactly have a choice."Looking at me, she gestured with her head. "Let's go."She made her way to a secluded area that seems to be restricted from public use. The sign in front of it does say; "Restricted Area. Keep Out!"I slowed down as we approached it."That place seems to be restricted."She didn
Allison's POV"Happy birthday to you!" The crowd chorused, waving their flashlights up in the air. It was the most beautiful thing I had seen. It also left a bitter taste in my mouth. My sister stood right in the middle of the ballroom, the center of attraction. She had a naive little smile on her face as everyone sent hugs, kisses, and gifts her way. "It's your day, Arya!" Mom squealed behind her. "My little girl is now grown up." "I could never have asked for a more perfect daughter." Dad added, pulling Arya for a hug. Another twinge of pain hit my chest and I pulled at my dress trying to stop the tears that welled up my eyes. I was not weak. I was not going to dissolve into tears in a room filled with werewolves who would love nothing else. They all wanted to see me crack. "Happy birthday, Arya," I murmured, holding up my gift. The ballroom went dead quiet. My parents whipped around, their eyes widening as if they just remembered that I existed too. "Oh, you're stil
Allison's POV "You don't have a say in this, Allison." Dad said stiffly. "If I have to drag you down there myself, I will." I stared at my parents in disbelief. I was worthless in their eyes, wasn't I? Only the desperate women took part in the Wolf King's bride selection. Sure he was said to be good-looking and all but he was known for his cruelty and capricious nature. He throws a bride selection ceremony every year, and ends up, not choosing brides but with a whole lot of women claiming he had slept with them. He was a promiscuous bastard and asking me to participate in that selection was more like sentencing me to death. My father knew this. He would never admit it, but I was every bit as arrogant and proud as he was. He wanted to break me. He couldn't be more wrong. "Fine!" I fumed and walked out the door. The crowd that had been eavesdropping dispersed the minute I threw the door open. I ignored them, running to my room. I had to get out of here. The next morning, I
Daniel's POVRoses. The smell of roses lingered faintly in the air. I sniffed trying to hold on to the scent that my wolf purring in delight. No, he snarled. She's gone. My eyes snapped open at those words. They met with the ceiling and when I glanced to the side, my mate was gone. I sat up, glancing at the bathroom door. She wasn't in there. I couldn't hear the sound of water running. And her scent would be much stronger than this if she were here. She wasn't. I searched around, for anything, anything at all that would assure me that she was still around. "No!" I bellowed, lunging to my feet. I must have been knocked out hard since I hadn't noticed her leaving. She was insatiable. Fuck, she was my mate. Perfect in every way. Hair that felt thick and soft against my fingers. Those beautiful eyes. Dark. Black as night. When she looked up at me in the bar, I could not look away even if I tried. And I didn't bother trying. She was gorgeous, I didn't want to take my eye
