Chapter 66: Confession

Celine's mind was numb with the shock of it all as she stared at her packed bags, her heart feeling heavier than the suitcases she was about to lug across the world. Her flight to Los Angeles was only a few hours away, and she knew she couldn't back out now.

She smiled bitterly, a weak attempt to inject some positivity into this seemingly endless downward spiral. "A fresh start won't hurt," she told herself, forcing a brave face despite the tears threatening to spill over.

Just as Celine was steeling herself for her departure, there was a knock at the door. Elena's familiar face appeared, a small smile playing on her lips.

"Someone's here to see you," she said, her voice tinged with sadness.

Celine's brow furrowed in confusion. "Who?" she asked, knowing she hadn't arranged any visitors.

"He says his name is Mason, and that he's a friend of yours," Elena explained.

Celine's face hardened at the mention of Mason's name. She knew he was far from a friend.
