Chapter 62: The Flash

Celine was utterly baffled. Faye and her son, John, were the only people home, and all of the workers, including the guards, had been given the day off.

The house seemed ordinary, nothing out of place, but Celine's heart raced faster and faster as she ascended the stairs to the floor she shared with Ermanno. Her breath caught in her throat when she saw the broken glass scattered across the floor.

Fear gripped her as she took cautious steps, avoiding the broken shards of glass that crunched beneath her feet.

“What just happened?”

Celine's hands trembled as she pulled out her phone, her thumb racing across the screen to call Ermanno.

"Princess," Ermanno answered, his voice laced with concern.

"Something happened," Celine whispered, her heart pounding in her chest.

"What's wrong?" Ermanno demanded, his voice growing more urgent.

"I just got back and I saw Faye rushing to her car with John, and it looks like someone broke into our house," Celine explained, her voice shaking with fear.
