Mason's voice was warm and easygoing as he asked Celine, "So... how has life been treating you lately?"

Celine's smile was wide and forced as she replied, "Life's been great! What about you?" Her tone was cheerful, but her frown was visible even as she tried to hide it.

Mason laughed softly, sitting beside her on the couch. "Life's been good," he said, his eyes tracing Celine's features from head to toe. "How about a toast?"

Celine's gaze remained on Mason, her smile faltering slightly as she lifted her glass to his. "To what?"

"To life," Mason replied, a playful glint in his eyes. "And to the unexpected twists and turns that make it worth living."

They clinked their glasses, and Celine couldn't help but wonder if Mason was alluding to something more
