“Welcome boss” his assistant greeted as Malcolm sauntered into the office, he had a grim look on his face and everyone around was weary of him. “What nonsense are you saying?” Aura began to yell and when she saw them trying to cover Liam’s already stiff body, she ran towards the nurse and grabbed the white sheet from her hand,“Don’t you have any shame?covering a child like that?” She yelled again as the tears poured down in torrent.“Liam?” She began to shake him again, “wake up, mama is here”Everyone in the operating room could see how hurt she was but there was nothing they could do except look at the director for help. Malcolm was speechless for what seemed like ages,what nonsense were these people sprouting now?“Where is Liam, aura?” He asked again, this time he sounded so downcast and aura didn’t know what to say again. It hurt her to break the news to him.“I am really sorry Malcolm, we lost him. The tumor began to slip out of his brain and followed with blood gushing out of his body and we lost him” it was Aiden who was talking, he was also equally hurt and sad.“Liam” Malcolm muttered under his breath and moved a step backward but he ended up falling on the floor and everyone rushed towards him, “you guys are lying right?” He asked but aura nodded in the negative, and she was also crying profusely. Everyone was teary eyed as the casket was being lowered into the ground, even Malcolm could not stop his own tears because that was years and years of his memory being buried alongside his son. The pain of a father losing his son was much more than any other pain. Even Aurora was not left out of the mix, she felt like a part of her died along with Liam and she would never be able to forget him no matter what. The little boy who didn’t even know her but loved her like a mother, how could she possibly forget about him.“Let’s say our final goodbyes” the priest announced and after a while, Malcolm stepped forward with a white rose in his hand.“My dear boy” he began slowly, “I know by now you are somewhere safe and no one will be able to stop you from being happy now. After entering the house, Aura dropped her shoes by the door and walked straight into her room before slumping on the bed.Memories of Liam flooded back into her head and she just couldn’t help it as another set of tears escaped her eyes. The fact that she would never be able to see him again made the pain in her heart more painful. Ever since the two of them got close, she got to experience love in a child’s form and that was the most beautiful feeling in the world but all that is in the past now.
