Alpha Martains's POV

I rushed over to stop her when I saw her raise her hands the second time to hit herself.

Our eyes were locked in a gaze and we remained like that for some seconds before she drew away from me abruptly and tried to free her hand from my firm grip.

I came to my senses and let go off her, taking a step backward. It was becoming awkward with the sudden touch of our skin and silence.

Why did I even stop her from hitting herself? Have I become so soft hearted? I am the one who is wronged here and she deserved more than just a slap from herself but I subconsciously had to stop her in time.

I started, making a sound as if clearing my throat, "As a benevolent leader, I have forgiven you. I won't take my anger out on you for disrespecting me as a mere maid."

"Thank you, alpha. I..." she started to talk, but I interrupted her halfway.

"But I will only forget about this on a condition."

"What condition?" she looked up, staring at me directly in the eyes.
