A FLAME OF DESIRES

“Where are we going?” Lily asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Lucian smiled, his eyes twinkling in the dim light. “We thought we could go out for dinner. To talk.”

Lily’s heart sank at the thought of spending more time alone with them, of being trapped in their presence with no way out. But she knew there was no use in denying them, knew that she had no choice but to accept their offer.

“Okay,” she said, forcing a smile. “I’ll go.”

As they made their way to the restaurant, Lily tried to push aside her fears and doubts, to focus on the here and now. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t shake the feeling that she was walking into a trap, that there was something sinister lurking beneath the surface.
