Chapter 38

The fact that Diego had gotten called back to the base the after told him at least they had found something when he had searched overnight and had come up with absolutely nothing at all.

He and Gabriella hadn't really exchanged so much words the day before and even that morning when Diego got the phone call from Director Fiona, the only thing she had done was to tightly hold his hand and hold him with a strong gaze. Her meaning was clear, no matter what happened, she would stand by him.

The drive to the base was quiet and silent and this time around, they passed through another entrance to the underground base. Director Fiona was already waiting for them. Diego raised his eyebrow at her attempt of wearing a smile.

"Good morning President Diego "

Director Fiona said as she led them into the room they had entered the day before once again.

"I believe you have news for me

Director Fiona" Diego muttered in reply as he glanced at the huge screen in front of him while Director Fiona sighed
