Chapter 26

Gabriella glanced at the wall clock in the bedroom while biting down on her lips.

Diego rarely came home this late.

Even though she knew that he could be stuck in a meeting or could be very busy, her brain refused to think that way.

Maybe he was too angry and didn't want to see her. Maybe he was mad at her and didn't want to interact or even stay in the same house with her. A lot of thoughts ran through her head, thoughts threatening to suffocate her any moment. Gabriella ran her hands through her hair as she drove in.

She had been expecting and waiting for him to come home and now that he was home; her nervousness grew up another notch. She could feel her palms becoming sweaty and her breathing getting faster.

Her heart beat increased as she heard the front door open and then barely a minute later, the door of the bedroom was pushed open.

Gabriella had scattered some of her books on the bed as a way of pretending that she was doing something and that was why she was still awake.
