“You are finally back" Efrain spoke from his seat on the couch in the living room
*You are finally awake.” Aramide shot back as she took off her black coat and headed towards a chair to rest
“Where did you get the intel?” Efrain asked as he stared at her suspiciously.
“Have you verified it?" Aramide asked as she got comfortable on the black sofa in their home.
“Yeah—"
“So it is Tania's house?”
“Didn't you know that before?” Efrain asked as he stared at her.
“Doesn't hurt to verify.” Aramide waved off as she relaxed further into the chair.
“You seem pretty exhausted. Care to share where you were today?”
“No, I've never been a fan of sharing." Aramide stated and stood up
Aramide's sandals collided with the ground as she messily walked down the hall. The drive here had been quite bumpy for some reason there was traffic congestion and things escalated from there. Now, she was present in the hospital, walking down the hall to Cole's took after getting the number from the nurse at the reception. Aramide but her lips as she clutched her car keys in her hand. Her curly afro hair was tied in a bun and held with a silver clip. She wasn't wearing anything iconic, just some grey long sleeve shirt and blue jeans. The room number was room 325. Aramide was sure she just passed room 300 and the closer she got, the louder her heartbeat. She was ready right? She had gotten over Cole. this would be nothing but business. her whole didn't revolve around him and even she found it incredibly annoying how he could tamper with her life. she was stronger than this. right?FLASHBACK“W-w
“Aramide" His voice was hoarse and his name a bit off but he had said it, he slowly tried to reach out to touch her but Aramide immediately moved away.FLASHBACK“Cole—”“and what were you gonna do when she grew up asked who her real father was? Were you going to substitute that criminal for me?” Cole asked her with his eyes filled with emotions “Aramide if — If this never happened, would you have even told me?” He demanded as stared into her brown eyes. Aramide was silent, she folded and unfolded her fists, The ground suddenly became so uncomfortable, it was almost like she was stuck in a small box, Unable to do anything. But then again, what right did Cole have? what gave him the audacity to question how she had raised her daughter? Who did he think he was to drag Her present into this? How dare he? This was about their daught
Silence loomed over them for a while. Aramide held her battered breath as she stared back at the man waiting for him to speak again. Had it been an illusion? was she hearing correctly? did Cole not insinuate that something else apart from what they all knew had happened ten years ago? How was this going to affect their lives now? To be honest, Aramide was sick and tired of this back and forth. The only thing she wanted and craved was to be with her daughter and then go far away from all these conspiracies. But it had dawned on Aramide that the more she tried to move away the deeper she sunk into the web of lies that were laid. It seemed like an unending battle “Twelve years ago...” Cole began. His clear voice never failed to send chills down her spine. Had he been pretending? but why? He was going to tell her the truth now. So she hoped she was making the right decision by deciding to wait.
“What are you saying? what are you insinuating Cole! That's impossible! Bola is Angel's mother, right? So how is it that, Bola is sterile?” Aramide demanded as she glared at her man with furrowed eyebrows.“Angel isn't Bola's son and he isn't my son either. You'll be stunned to find out who Angel's mother is...”“Who is it?”Cole paused and bit his lip, Aramide could see the sadness in his eyes. he was in pain. He grabbed a fist full of the clothing that was laid on his legs and squeezed it before he spoke painfully in a sad voice. “Mercedes...” I found out a month ago that he was Mercedes' son.“That doesn't make any sense, Mercedes is too young to have carried a child at that time, how old was she? 16? That's impossible!"“A surrogate mother. Bola was a surrogate mother,” Cole announced. “Look, it to
~“Bola was the one who informed my uncle? She was the reason I got kidnapped? Bola was the reason?!" Aramide roared! “She's going to pay for this! I swear on my daughter that I am going to make Bola Hampson pay for this! just you wait and see!”“You are moving too fast Aramide, I haven't even begun to tell you all her secrets yet. You'll be completely shaken to find out the real Bola.”~“When you came back into our lives so many years ago. A lot of things had already changed— It was all messed up. Bola was friends with Tania— she constantly neglected Angel and since he wasn't my son — I didn't have much of a say as she could constantly threaten to take him away from me.When you came back though, standing at our doorstep, drenched in rain and saying you had a daughter for me...I'm not sure Bola could handle that...&rdq
~“I don't think you should be worrying about Bola right now. if she sent you here then she must have a trick up her sleeve.” Cole explained. Aramide's ears perked up at that.“What do you think she is planning?" Aramide asked.“We should probably go find out," Cole said as he shared a meaningful look with Aramide.~“It's locked." Aramide sighed as she tugged on the door hand. Panic tore into her skin as she stared back at Cole and then the door and continued to tug on the handle. “They locked us in here!”“Try to call someone— anyone, I'll work on getting the door open,” Cole said as he tried to bust the door open. He looked around for any implement that could help him out but there wasn't much in that small hospital room. Cole ran his hands through his hair as he watched Aramide fumble with her ph
~“We need to get out of here fast Cole!” Aramide screeched.“I am working on it!” Cole yelled out.“I have a very bad feeling Cole! I have a very bad feeling” Aramide repeated as she paced around the room continuously.“I have already lost so much. I am not going to lose again” Aramide said as she pulled out her gun and shot the doorknob. Enough of all the madness. If Bola wants war—Then she'll get a blood bath.~“You—You had that all along? Aramide what are you doing with a gun?!” Cole yelled exasperatedly.“I'm not who I used to be Cole...” Aramide announced softly as she walked outside the doors and looked around to ensure the place was clean. “When I said I changed I meant it.” Aramide said and their eyes locked for a moment before she to
~“Efrain, what's up? Did you get Tania?” Aramide asked“Yeah, we did and she's in a warehouse waiting for you. Something came up though..”“What's that?" Aramide.“Aracely is doing too well, She went for an operation and well it's kind of backfired”“What?!”~“what do you mean she's fighting for her life?" Aramide snapped.“You need to get into the car first Aramide! We'll talk about it on the way" Efrain said looking ahead.Aramide nodded absentmindedly and got into the car with Cole. Her mind raced as panic gripped her heart, the mere thought of losing her daughter once again, completely paralyzed her.FLASHBACK“Aracely?” Aramide cried out, “Ara! Aracely!"
