CHAPTER 39-40

Gregor released Annabella's hand when they finally entered his office,he faced her and she also maintained the eye contact with him.

"I'm sorry for disturbing....here" She raised the phones in her hand and Gregor looked down

"You came to give me this?" He asked and she nodded

"You left them on the dinning table" She said

Gregor took the phones from her and dropped them on his desk

"I will take my leave now" Annabella bowed and turned immediately

"Wait" Gregor called and she faced him again

"Sir?"

"Are you avoiding me?" He asked and Annabella gulped

No she's just too embarrassed to face him after what happened last night

"Why?? Because of the kiss?" Gregor asked

Annabella blinked twice,she never expected him to say that to her face

"I...it was a mistake right?" She muttered

"Mistake??" Gregor asked again

"I thought....."

Gregor moved closer and she kept quiet

"Do you want to know if it was a mistake or not?" He asked

Annabella looked up into his eyes wondering what he's up to,until his hand captured her sexy waist and she froze on the spot,his eyes not leaving hers as he continue to lean closer to her. She shut her eyes and Gregor smiled

"I want more" he whispers into her ear and Annabella immediately opened her eyes.

"I want to do it again" Gregor repeated

Annabella couldn't believe her ears,is he saying he want to kiss her again??

Gregor's eyes scanned her body,from her straight white legs which made her feel hot all of a sudden in the AC. What if he complains about the shortness again??

'He's not even your boyfriend Anna' she comported herself

Gregor stared at her for a while but he didn't say a word

"Boss" They were interrupted by Jay's voice

He entered and Annabella turned to him

"Oh thank goodness,I thought you got lost" Jay touched his chest and Annabella chuckled

"I will wait got you outside" She said and took one last glance at Gregor before walking out.

Jay turned to Gregor

"Good job" Gregor said and Jay smiled

"Anything for you boss" he said

"Check your account" Gregor said

"You're the best boss" Jay gave him a cute salute and Gregor smiled

"Go" He said

Jay smiled again and immediately walked out of the office.

Gregor leaned on his desk and a crazy grin appeared on his lips,he just couldn't wait for tonight,that was why he left his phone,just to see her and talk to her.

Now it's official that he's not in his right mind again

"See you later Jay" Annabella said when they got back home

"Sure" Jay nodded

Annabella went into the house,one thing in her mind,Gregor,she was trying her best to think about something else at least but only his thoughts occupied her mind

'Oh Annabella' she said inwardly and sighed out.

As she climbed the stairs and approached her room,she saw Maggie right on her door step

"Maggie?" Annabella called and Maggie turned

"Oh...Anna" She said

Annabella gave her a questioning look

"What are you looking for?" She asked

"I didn't know you haven't gotten back" Maggie said

"Oh...I followed Jay to Mr Bells office,he left his phones at home earlier" Annabella explained

"Okay" Maggie said

"Any problem?" Anna asked

"Of course not,I just want us to talk. It's boring down there" Maggie replied

"You want to come in?" Annabella asked and Maggie immediately nodded

Annabella opened the door and they both entered

"Wow,I never imagined the room to be this big and beautiful" Maggie said

"Why? Isn't this the room Mrs Kim was staying?" Annabella asked

"No" Maggie faced her

"Really?"

"It's downstairs" Maggie smiled shortly

"Ohh" Annabella bite her bottom lip.

Maggie sat down on the bed

"This bed is so comfortable" She sighed out and Annabella chuckled

"Just sleep If you want to" She said

"Okay you caught me" Maggie said and they both laughed

'I guess you're getting along with Mr Gregor more" She said

"Somehow,at least he's no longer cold" Annabella smiled

Maggie nodded and closed her eyes

"Hey are you okay?" Adam tapped Wright who was busy playing with his food

"Why not?" Wright muttered

'You don't look okay actually" Adam chuckled

Wright looked up and the first person he saw was Melanie,she was sitting with Lonnie as they eat together

Adam followed his eyes

"Don't tell me you have feelings for her" Adam said and Wright scoffed

"What's the use?? She has a boyfriend" Wright said

"I'm so happy you know" Adam said and Wright rolled his eyes

"Interested in a pool party? In my house?" He asked

Adam stood on his seat immediately

"Anyone interested in a pool party tonight at Wright's place?!!" He asked in a loud voice and Wright's eyes widened

🗣 Yessssssss!!!!!!!

🗣 Oh My God!!!!

🗣 Can't wait!!!

🗣 Wright's place?!!! Wowwwww!!!

"You all are invited" Adam bowed crazily and sat down again

"Party successfully announced" he winked

Wright smiled

"What will I do without you?" He asked

"Of course you can't live without.... "

"It's okay Adam" Wright cut in immediately and he laughed

The students in the cafeteria continue to murmur about the party,especially the girls

"I have nothing at home,let's go shopping after school" Wright said

"Sure" Adam winked

'At least this will help right??' Wright thought.

"I will be going back to school" Cindy said after the long silence between her and Brandon

Brandon dropped his cutlery and looked up

"What? You're leaving?" He asked

"Yeah" Cindy replied

"You told me your school distance isn't that far from here" Brandon said

"But it won't be easy going from here everyday,I also want to stay. But I'm not that rich" Cindy said

"Then how about I give you a driver to take you to school and back everyday?" Brandon asked and Cindy's eyes widened

"You will do that?" She asked

"Because I want to keep on seeing you" Brandon said

"You can come to my school to look for me" Cindy mumbled with a pout

"Seriously?" Brandon chuckled

"Fine,I will accept your offer Mr...."

"Brandon" Brandon corrected and Cindy chuckled

"I know....so do you eat at the restaurant everyday?" She asked

"Yeah" Brandon replied

"How about I cook for you sometime?" Cindy asked

"Really??....."

"Don't think about anything,it's a pay back for the driver you're giving me" Cindy immediately said and Brandon laughed

"Okay then" He said

"You will spend money anyway,the last time I went to your house,you have no single foodstuff in there" Cindy shook her head

"I don't mind,we can go to the grocery store together" Brandon said and Cindy smiled

"Weekend then" She said and Brandon nodded.

<8PM≈GREGOR'S ISLAND>

Casey and Alex are already laying their heads on Annabella's laps while waiting for her to start her bed time story,both having candies in their mouth

"Nanny?" Alex suddenly called

"Huh?"

"Can you make us salad tomorrow?" He asked

"You want salad?" Annabella asked

"Chicken Salad" Casey said and Alex nodded

Annabella smiled

"Sure,I will do that for you" She said

"Thank you nanny" They smiled

"So back to our story,the butcher approached Jack" Annabella started and there was silence.

“What a fine cow you have there,” he said, patting the cow firmly.

“I’m selling her,” replied Jack.

“Are you indeed?”

“Yes,” said Jack, “my mother told me to go to the market and only sell her to the highest bidder for she is extremely valuable.”

“I can see that,” replied the butcher.

“That is why,” he continued, “I am going to give you a once in a lifetime offer. An offer worth no less than a thousand times what you will receive from anyone else at the market.”

Jack looked up at the butcher in awe.

“What is this offer?” asked Jack.

“Magic beans,” said the butcher, stepping forward and opening the little green pouch.

Jack peered inside

"Wow,magic beans??" Alex said in surprise

“Three beans?” he snorted.

“Three magic beans,” replied the butcher, “that will most certainly change your—and your dear mother’s—life for the better.”

Jack reflected for a moment.

“A thousand times more valuable,” he thought to himself, “and something that will help my mother.”

“Very well,” said Jack.

He exchanged the cow for the little pouch—containing the three magic beans— and returned home.

Jack told his mother of the butcher and the beans, then watched in horror as her ashen face turned puce

“You’ve done what?” she bellowed.

“But, mm… mother,” stammered Jack, “the man said they were magic beans and… a a a and… they would help us…a a a and…”

He stopped before he could finish the sentence.

Even Jack—now hearing these words coming out of his own mouth for the first time—could not believe what he was saying. It sounded ridiculous. And he suddenly felt overwhelmed with shame.

He began to sob.

“Oh, mother,” he cried, “I’m so sorry. I can’t believe I have done something so silly. Can you ever forgive me?”

“Go to your room, Jack,” she said, “you must think long and hard about what you have done.”

Still clasping the little pouch of beans, Jack turned, trudged upstairs to his bedroom and closed the door.

He tipped the beans into his palm and then sat on the edge of his bed staring at them.

"Wow,is he going to throw them away?" Casey asked

"Why don't you be patient first?" Alex asked

"I'm afraid you might stop it again" Casey pouted and Annabella laughed before she continued.

“How could I have been so stupid!” he said to himself, angrily.

“I mean… look at them! Three blinking, measly little beans in exchange for a whole cow? What was I thinking?”

In a fit of rage, he clenched his fist and tossed the beans out of the window. Then curled up on the bed and fell into a deep sleep.

When Jack awoke it was morning.

This particular morning was bright and sunny. Which was strange because the sun did not stream through Jack’s bedroom window as it usually would. On this particular morning, his room remained dark.

Jack ran to the window.

What met his stare took his breath away.

A gigantic beanstalk rose like ten mighty oaks, high up into the sky.

"Whooaaaa!!!!" Alex and Casey screamed

"That's it for tonight" Annabella said

"Ahhhh!!!" They screamed

"Just one more paragraph nanny please!!!" Casey cried

"Kids....."

"Nanny please!!" Alex also shouted

"Okay fine" Annabella muttered and continued

They were magic beans,” Jack exclaimed, “perhaps they do hold the great riches that this butcher speaks of?”

That was it.

Without a second thought, Jack jumped out of his bedroom window and onto the giant beanstalk.

Great, leafy vines snaked around like ladders—making it ever so easy for Jack to scale the skyscraping stalk.

He began to climb.

Higher.

And higher.

And higher.

Not stopping for a moment to look down. This is probably just as well for Jack was now so high up that his cottage, the village and all of the surrounding lands could be seen no more.

Suddenly, came a shrill voice.

“Jack, is that you?” it said.

“Yes,” said Jack.

A tiny, beautiful fairy appeared—and hovered in the air, just a few inches from the tip of Jack’s nose.

“I’ve been waiting many years to see you, Jack,” said the fairy, “as I have a very important secret to tell you.”

Jack looked surprised.

"So that's it" Annabella said

"Now i regret asking for another paragraph" Casey said and Annabella laughed

"Why?"

"Because the suspense here is more bigger than that one" Alex said

"Let's just forget she said this" Casey suggested and they both closed their eyes

"Kids,are you angry??" Annabella asked

"Goodnight nanny,chicken salad tomorrow" Alex said

Annabella smiled and kissed their heads

She deemed the light and went out.

She stopped in front of Gregor's door

"Why is he so late?" She muttered worriedly

Her curiosity made her try to open the door and it opened

'He doesn't lock his door?' She thought and then went in

'Annabella,what are you doing?' She asked herself and immediately turned to rush out of the door but she bumped into Gregor

Her eyes grew wide immediately

"Mr Bells" She called

Gregor smiled

"You came to look for me?" He asked and she nodded

"I'm sorry I entered without your permission" She said

Gregor nodded and dropped his briefcase before sitting on the bed

Annabella's eyes followed him

'He's tired' she said inwardly,watching as he sighed out.

Without a second thought,she moved closer to him

"May I?" She asked,pointing at his tie which was half way loosed already

Gregor looked at her and then nodded

Annabella slowly removed the tie from his neck,she began unbuttoning his shirt,Gregor's eyes on her all through

She undid the first three button and noticed he wasn't putting on anything under,she swallowed and tried moving back but Gregor held her hand

"Finish what you started" He said and Annabella bashed her lashes

"I....I didnt know...I...."

Gregor pulled her closer and she landed on his laps,a tiny gasp escaped her lips,her ponytail loosed and the long hair fell on her shoulders. He looked at her with those sharp eyes of his and touched her cheek

Annabella swallowed

"You're so beautiful" Gregor muttered still caressing her cheek

Annabella's eyes on the other hand was on his lips,she badly want to kiss those pink lips of his again.

And unexpectedly,Annabella held Gregor's cheeks and slammed her lips on his own surprising Gregor.

She broke it almost immediately

"I'm sorry" She muttered

Gregor captured her lips again and gently pulled her on the bed with him on top,their lips snd tongues fighting for the best tastes of each other.

Annabella started to loose the remaining button of Gregor's shirt.
