"Aren't you curious about why I have bought you here?" He asked while making breakfast for us.
"Nope. I don't like to know things that involve me." I said and he frowned. I'm pretty much very sure he has brought me here for a purpose but I don't want to know about it.
"Sweetheart, there is something you need to do for me." Alastair said and I gritted my teeth in annoyance, as I stared at him.
"What do I need to do for you? I'm just an average student." I replied and he sighed as he sat down on the opposite side of the table.
"Marry me." He blurted out and I almost jumped in my seat. No way in hell that I'm going to marry someone just like this.
"No. Definitely no." I slammed my hands on the dining table.
"Listen to my side of the story first." He said, almost pleading. It Doesn't matter if he kills me right now but I refuse to marry someone I just met.
"No, it's not like that but listen to me. Just listen to me and forget about this." I said as I got my bag and was about to head off but the calling bell rang. I opened the door to find a woman wearing a purple dress and was accompanied by someone.
"Who are you supposed to be and what are you doing here?" She pushed me and entered the house and I was so tempted to just leave this house and never come back.
The collar on my neck still stands and I can’t open it. A collar is a mark of ownership, especially for an omega. When an omega wears a collar that usually means that they belong or are claimed by someone. There was a sharp decline in the population of omegas in the recent decade. That’s why the government revised the laws and eliminated some of them which weren’t in favour of the omegas.
It’s not that I don’t want to escape from here. He claimed me and my unconscious self recognises him as my alpha. Plus I don't have anywhere to go and even if I do escape, my friends can't. I sighed as I closed the door and I plopped down on the couch. I could hear the lady and Alastair arguing in the room but I didn't care. I was watching cartoons when the door slammed open. The woman stormed out of the room and pretty much ignored me. Alastair came out after a few seconds, he sighed as he settled down next to me.
“Who was that by the way?” I asked and somehow I felt bad. I know I shouldn’t poke my nose into his affairs but he looks like he could use a friend.
“You don’t need to worry about this sweetheart. I’ll take care of this.” He smiled at me. I scoffed as I turned my attention back to the television.
“Just who are you to worry about me. You asked me to marry you but you refuse to tell me a single detail.” I shouted at him and he looked surprised.
“So, you are fine with marrying me.” He looked so happy, I now realise I spoke without considering my words. If I refuse now, he’ll be disappointed. His pheromones turn sour when he’s upset and that triggers an almost forgotten memory of mine. The real reason is I don't want him to be disappointed, not in matters involving me.
“Yes, but not getting married or anything. Let’s just date and there are too many things you don’t know about me. After you know everything about me, If you still like me after that, let’s get married.” I said as he laid his head in my lap.
“What do you mean?” He asked. I ran my hands through his hair, massaging his scalp. His hair was dyed in a dark red shade, a very dangerous shade if i say so myself. Because it’s him, he pulled off that handsome-but-dangerous look. If someone else was to copy him, They would be a laughing stock.
“I’m just an ordinary student and I have a dark past. You’ll find it out someday. So, just wait until then.” This game I’m playing with him is very dangerous, like a prey playing around in front of its predator. Any wrong move, I’ll end up being eaten by the predator.
“You want to know who that was, is that it?” He chuckled and I nodded. I know I usually get into trouble for being nosy but my curiosity always gets the better of me.
“That woman is my mother, baby. My father was in love with someone else and my grandparents weren’t happy about this. My father was married to my mother as a part of the deal. My father loves me very much but my mother is a bit strict with me.” He explained and the bell rang for the second time today.
Alastair grumbled as he got up from my lap. I think he’s upset that his peaceful day off was interrupted too many times. He opened the door and there was an unreadable expression on his face.
“Come in, Julian.” He let a tall guy in and wasn’t he the one Leona was dating, someone else followed in behind them.
“DAELYN. Are you alright? He didn’t do anything to you, did he?” I heard Leona’s voice yelling at me from behind them.
I, Leona Ades and Jordyn Fynn are best friends. Me and Jordyn are studying in the same grade and section too. Leona is also in the same grade as us but a different section. I knew she was dating some mysterious guy and Jordyn wouldn’t stop acting like a mother hen. So, I guess Leona knew about Alastair and exodus for a long time. If only Jordyn knew about all of this, I stifled a laugh imagining it.
“You have the audacity to laugh. Do you know how worried I was when he told me that you were kidnapped,” Leona growled, She and Jordyn are both alphas and I was the odd one out in between them.
“I’m fine and you know what happened and it wasn’t my fault. So, please don’t scold me,” I pleaded and flashed my puppy eyes at her.
“Fine. Since you already know everything, Remember this NOT A WORD TO JORDYN.” She said and Alastair scoffed and it was not long before they started bickering.
“Well, they won’t stop anytime soon. Let’s just eat. She brought chocolate treats for you.” The guy named Julian handed me a paper-bag. I eagerly opened it while he fetched us some cutlery.
Chocolate desserts after breakfast are the best.
READER’S POV
"S-Sir, the IP a-address is invalid or th-they are bouncing it off the satellites." The petite girl stuttered, informing her boss.
"What do you mean?" The man went closer to the girl, who was sitting in front of the computer.
"We can't track them at all. I'm sorry sir." The girl apologises keeping her head down.
"It's okay baby, just try and track her parents down for me hmm." He said as he slipped his hands on her waist and nipped at her ear, the girl moaned out a 'yes'.
"And the rest of you. I want tracks about Daelyn. Fuck, I want her back here by next month or else you are dead." He shouted at his men.
Daelyn was supposed to be in his house roaming around, cooking and taking care of them. But since the day she went to her parent's house, he never heard from her. He found out a bit too late that the trip was indeed a trick for an escape. He later found out that her parents had been on a run.
"You'll regret this Dae and I'll make sure of it." The man says caressing the picture by his table.
Daelyn woke up extra happy that day, it was her birthday. She checked her phone and saw that Jordyn and Leona texted her at midnight wishing her and expressed their sadness at not being able to celebrate with her. She turned around looking for her boyfriend. But he was nowhere to be seen. This has been going on for the last two weeks, he always leaves early and comes home late. Daelyn couldn't deny her disappointment. She did her morning routine and made herself some breakfast and left the house. She walked her way to the university. She was exchanging her books when she was harshly shoved into the wall behind her. She collapsed because of the impact. She looked up to see her biggest bully Livana Lee, no one dared to oppose her because she was next in line for the Chairman of Ihde corporations. She was quite a powerful and richest woman and was also rumoured to be Alastair's fiance, So no one wanted to be on her bad side. She touched her bruised arm, tearing up as it hurt. "Aw, look.
DAELYN'S POVI groaned as I shifted around in what seemed like a soft bed. A sharp pain shot up my spine and I remembered what happened before I passed out. "Ah." I groaned as I sat up."Are you alright baby. Does it hurt anywhere?" Alastair asked me, I could've sworn that I have died because he looks exactly like an angel."I'm okay." I said with a fake cough trying to clear those thoughts from my mind. "I'm really sorry baby doll, I didn't mean to ignore you that day. It was a really important moment and I know you hate being ignored the most." He rambled on and I know he's blaming himself for all of this. He's guilty about that and he only rambles like this when he doesn't know what to say. "It's alright, but I'm not letting you off the hook, mister. I have warned you about my birthday." I said as I straddled him, to be honest I didn't like birthdays because they were a constant reminders that another year had passed after I was abandoned. "I know, I'll make it up to you. I prom
Alastair's POVI almost freaked out on hearing that he wanted to speak to me. At the same time I was tense, he massacred an entire mafia team. Daelyn wouldn't have been a problem but instead of killing her, he ended up saving her instead. I clutched the steering wheel hard. So, this is how it feels to have someone you want to protect by your side. I broke into a wide grin and all the tension was ignored. "Ew. What's that on your face? It looks disgusting." Melany, who was sitting in the passenger seat said. I seriously forgot about her. "It is something you'll never feel." I smirked as she made a face at me."Whatever, what do you think he wants to speak to you about?" She said as she looked out the window, staring at those board signals on our way."I don't know but we're going to find out. We're here." I said as I drove into our hideout's driveway. We parked the car and headed inside. The red carpet was splayed out on the floor. Julian and Heather picked the interiors for our hide
DAELYN’S POV: “Because..” She trailed off and I leaned in, interested. “ENOUGH.” I heard Alastair’s voice booming throughout the hallway. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to offend you.” The woman apologised and I looked away, disappointed. I admit I was a little interested in that issue, I’ll ask Al later someday. Al mouthed a ‘go in’ to me and I nodded as I entered the house closing the door behind me. I sighed as I made my way into the living room. I opened my snacks and arranged them on the glass table in front of the couch. I sat down on the couch as I started the movie and waited for Al to join me. After quite some time he joined me, he loosened his tie as he sat beside me. I snuggled closer to him as he wrapped his arm around my waist, his grip around my waist tightened and I giggled as I kissed his cheek. I rested my head on his shoulder as the movie played. As the end titles began to scroll, I wiped my eyes and sniffled. The ending was quite sad, the movie was about a detective who

I couldn’t help it.” He said and I pouted. Natalya called someone and was talking on the phone. Leona was directing a full-on glare to Schwan. “Dae, Vincent is coming to pick you up this evening. I and Leona have some work to do.” She smiled and I mumbled an ’okay’ to her. I and Leona were on our way to the classes while Natalya left with Schwann. I think Natalya is starting to suspect him or something. But I don’t get why, I mean it’s just a joke he pulled on us. If I tell Al about this, he’ll be off for his head. I was still processing the situation when I heard a sweet voice calling my name. I turned around to see my little omega in a bathrobe. So, that's where she was. She was just taking a bath and I got carried away. By the way, how in the world did a kitten get into my house?Daelyn should've brought that thing inside and that's the only explanation. DAELYN’S POV It was Leona’s birthday next week and I was still yet to decide on the present. I pouted and gripped the pillow harder. It should be easy since I am her best friend but there’s hardly anything that she doesn’t have. I took a look around the house and I still don’t understand what’s happening here. Why is everyone here and not in their hideout doing their things? I spotted Natalya and Ms.Darville at the dining table and by the looks of it, they’re arguing again. Ms.Darville is the chairwoman of H&W University. I heard she took over it when she was 25 and she’s very cool. Natalya is our senior at the university and she is also an assassin for the Exodus club. Julian and Vincent have been sitting across from me on the couch and they were reviewing something. Miss Melany was instructing someone and the layout of Alastair’s mansion lay sprawled over the table. It’s been almost half a day like this but I have no idea what’s going on here. “What in the world are you up to?”

The rest of the pictures were carefully selected by my employees. We hope you like it." He said and handed that book over. This was my gift to leona, I had specifically collected pictures of her and also some of our group pictures to go with them. I flipped through the papers of the 'memory book' and it was very nostalgic. Seems like I made the right decision, she's going to cry after looking through this."It's perfect. Could wrap this for me. DAELYN’S POV:“Dae, I found a secret garden where we can hang out.” The kid wearing a silver white shirt paired with black shorts exclaimed as he dragged the little girl with him.“Really, these people won’t find us there.” The little girl who was wearing a white frock with little flower patterns, beams as the latter smiled. That’s when it dawned on me, this was a memory not a dream. I remember that day as if it was yesterday. We found that there was a little secret garden around the lake behind the house. We started hanging out there very often. Well……Until that fateful day, the day he ran away from that prison of a house. To say I was disappointed was an understatement. He left me all alone, like my parents. I trusted him but in the end I was alone. That disappointment faded as the days passed, instead I felt relived. Relief washed over me as I finally realised that he was safe now. Away from the harsh criticism and comparisons. I felt happy for him but was a little salty that he
