AMELIA.
“Yes, I am ready.” I replied and straightened up. She smiled, and the next thing I knew, she chanted some spells under her breath, and she had something that looked like a liquid bottle in her palm. “So, here's the secret.” She said and stretched it towards me. I looked at the bottle warily, suddenly feeling weird about the whole situation. I looked at the bottle like the content could hurt me. “My hands are hurting, Amelia. Won't you take it?" She said in that sweet voice, but there was an underlying tone to it that told me if I let her wait one more second, she would turn me into the creepy flowers that made the cave look creepier. “Am I supposed to go home and drink it or something?” I asked her. “No, my dear. You're going to take it right here, right now. Because I have to be there for the spell to work. The moment you take it, I'm going to say some spell that would put everything in order.” She said, and I nodded, swallowing hard as I got myself ready. Then, I proceeded to open the bottle and empty whatever content that was inside into my mouth. “No, don't kill yourself, girl. I understand that you're desperate, but if you take too much of it, you're going to find yourself dead.” She told me sweetly in a slight chuckle and I nodded. “How should I go about it then?” I asked her. “Now, that's a good question.” She said, and I shifted on my two feet. If she were observant, she would tell me that I was now in a hurry. I've never really been known to be a patient person. I like it when I get a things done fast. She brought out water the same way she brought out the powder. “Now, you'll pour just a little into this warm water and then gulp it down.” She said, and I did what she asked me to do. I mixed the contents to blend in with the water. So far, the water was odorless, which I was grateful for. Because the smell of the things I consume really matters a lot. “Now, when I say drink it, you'll drink it.” She said, and I nodded. Then she closed her eyes, and suddenly, a heavy wind blew through the cave, and it had her hair and mine in disarray. She was casting some spells, and I closed my eyes to avoid dirts getting in as I felt the cold wind biting on my skin. It felt good and creepy at the same time but I had to bear it for the sake of the results. I felt the water in the cup that I had in my hand boiling, and I looked down at it; it was literally boiling after a few seconds. She opened her eyes, and the atmosphere was back to the way it was. “Now, you can drink it.” She said, and I nodded. I gulped it down without thinking twice. Thankfully, again, it was tasteless. “Okay, done. Is the effect supposed to be immediate?” I asked her, setting the cup down. “Is there anything in this world, my darling? But, not to worry. Just go home and have some beautiful sleep for the rest of the night. Make sure that you don't sleep before ten. When you close your eyes to sleep, make sure that you're not waking up till the next morning.” She told me, and I nodded. “That can be arranged,” I told her, and she smiled. “Good." "Now, I believe that's all?” I asked, and she smiled. “I would like to go back to what I was doing; I believe you can see yourself out.” She said. Suddenly a wind spun around her and whoosh, she was gone like she was never there. I sighed, hoping and praying that whatever I just took would work after following her instructions. I couldn't bear the way I was looked at and the way I was talked to in school. I thought to myself as I made my way out of the cave; when I could finally see the open sky again, I breathed in the smell of nature. I had a smile on my face; I had no idea that I would be this happy to see the sky again. I walked towards where I parked my car, and many things bothered my mind as I walked. What if I woke up tomorrow and I still looked the same? Without any changes? And I would have to go to school the same way. I sighed. I just needed to remove myself from the spotlight. That's what I'll do. I don't want to sound like I'm always thinking negatively, but not a lot of good things have happened to me you know. So, I'm always thinking that, at some point, my plans would never work out. But, I really hope to God that this particular one works. God knows that I can't deal with the whole bullying anymore. My mum doesn't even know what I go through, same with my dad. They are the only ones that love me genuinely. I used to think Dylan did, but I was just delusional. He never cared. I was only a burden to him but he never showed it because he didn't want to hurt my feelings. Sadly, my heart was now broken after finding out the truth. Dylan was in love with Valerie I got to my car and rested my head on the steering wheel. I've had such an exhausting day, and I hope I get good results. I checked the time; I need to go and prepare for school tomorrow. Because I need a new wardrobe, but to not get too excited, I would only start with an outfit for tomorrow, in case all the stuff she gave me fails. And then when tomorrow comes, and I look banging, I'll go to the boutique to get more fitting clothes. I smiled, trying to stay positive as I drove out of the area I parked. I hummed under my breath, trying to relieve myself of the stress, anything that would not make me think about Dylan. Because really, I felt like a fool. I thought he genuinely liked and cared for me. He was always there, all the time. But, as always, I read the wrong signals. He wanted the one lady that has always bullied me my whole life. I sighed and pulled into the boutique. Here goes absolutely nothing. “Let this go well, good lord,” I muttered and raised my shoulders. Then, I pushed the doors open.AMELIA: Falling For My Best Friend Written ByOkwuma Esther (Esther~Writes) AMELIA The school Gym was packed with students; everyone seemed excited as they watched the cheer team practice their end-of-year parade. Loud pop music from one of Taylor Swift's popular jams played in the background as the girls danced. It has been one busy summer, and I couldn't believe I was finally done with the school year and by September, I would be in my finals. My eyes darted around the gym as I watched guys gush over how sexy the cheer team were. Not to lie, they were all hot, including the guys, with the hottest one being Valerie, the cheer captain and my nemesis. I could not help but glare at her with jealousy brimming in my heart; Valerie was the queen of Ravers High School. She was the typical blonde queen bee that was super rich. As much as I hate her at times I wished I had her perfect body so that I would be out there with them. I love cheerleading, but unfortunately, I wasn't bu
AMELIA Her face twisted in a way it never had as she cleaned off my spit. She was shocked at first by my audacity, but soon fury burst on her face. She kicked me in the face and my mouth bled as she screamed. "How dare you stinky bitch!" Valerie pulled my hair with her friends pulling my hand towards a toilet cabinet. I panicked and started to struggle knowing exactly what they had in their mind. I fucked up. The door was pushed open and I was pulled to the toilet. "I am sorry, Valerie, please, anything but this," I begged, but she ignored me and then shoved my head into the water. She pulled it out, "Never in your freaking life do that again." She snapped then shoved me in again. Her friends held me in place so that I couldn't escape. I wiggled and kicked my leg, fighting them, but it was no use as I was getting drowned in the toilet. They turned on the water to flush me. My screams were muffled by the water. I cried and screamed but no one came. I c

"Give mum a smile dear," my cheered me up with the brightest smile ever as she used her old camera to take a picture of me in my prom dress. It wasn't just any dress but a diamond arcrest dress, one of the most popular designer brands. They were the only brands that I could kind to have the best dress for me that hugged all my curves perfectly. A soft smile hung on my face as I smiled sweetly at the Camera while Mum took multiple. "That's my baby, I can't believe this day finally came. Mum said dramatically wiping off a tear. Dad's soft chuckle could be heard from the door. They were both happy I was going to prom this year and with Dylan as a bonus. This was my first ever and I was super excited. "Of course, this day was meant to be our angel finally winning over her crush," Dad said, and my cheeks went red while Mum smiled teasingly. "Dylan isn't m
AMELIA My eyes stared back at the crowd in shock; I was too embarrassed to move, my brain lagging behind to process what was happening. A roaring laugh echoed in the hall, they were all laughing at me. My eyes met Dylan's. He was too stunned to react. "Amelia, you should fix your dress." The principal said with a soft tone, reality finally hit me. My hands rushed to cover my bosoms and I ran away from the stares and laugh of mockery. As I ran past Valerie I heard her snicker. "Your fast ass ruined a perfect dress." That was enough; I could not bear it. I didn't know where I was heading but I needed to leave. Tears continued running down my eyes, my sobs were caught in my throat. My heart tightened, making it difficult to breathe. I was fat so running and crying was too much stress on my heart. Valerie did this, what did I ever do to deserve such hatred? I never came in her way and always did my best to avoid her but she always finds a way to make my life a living hell

Dylan's POV. I should have been more careful. I should have destroyed that stupid page the moment I wrote it. It was just a dumb dare, a meaningless joke, but now...now it had ruined everything. I had only stepped out to grab snacks for our movie night, but when I got back, I knew something was wrong. The house was eerily silent. No music, no distant hum of the TV. Just silence. Then I went upstairs to check on her after keeping the things I bought. I checked her room but I didn't see her in there. Then I thought of fetching my phone from my room so I could use it to reach out to her in order to know where she was because I had forgotten to take my phone along with me when leaving the house to get some snacks and then I saw her...
