KAYLA'S POV

"I can't, I won't," I protested, a desperate plea escaping my lips as I squirmed, attempting to distance myself from his car.

However, his demeanour remained steadfast, a resolute expression on his face, his gaze unwaveringly fixed on the road ahead, seemingly impervious to my turmoil.

"I can't do this, Reynolds, please stop. We've been down this road before, and you know how it turns out every time. I'm genuinely sorry for the mess that's unfolded so unexpectedly. I truly wish there was a way for us to navigate through this, but I just can't, Reynolds. Please, stop,"

I pleaded earnestly. Despite my heartfelt appeals, my words seemed to fall on deaf ears. Reynolds stayed seated, unmoved and unresponsive. It was as if he cared little for my distress, finding his amusement in this situation.

The car eventually rolled past the gates and halted near the entrance. I swallowed nervously, perplexed as to why he was so deeply involved in this entire situation.
