A thick, bitter laughter bubbled up from within me as I observed Jackson's confusion, his expression a mix of frustration and disbelief.

"This isn't a joke, Alpha Reynolds," he protested, his tone laced with irritation.

"What isn't? You actually expect me to believe any of this?" I retorted, my voice tinged with incredulity.

"Kayla being pregnant? Having a man? Do you really think any of that makes sense?"

Tears welled up in my eyes as I spoke, the weight of Jackson's accusations bearing down on me like a lead weight.

"You have to listen to me, Alpha Reynolds!" Jackson insisted, his voice rising in urgency.
