6. New Membership

LAIS VOLKOVA….

Tring….Tring….Tring…..

I heard some irritating noise that disturbed my sleep. I stirred and tried to open my eyes slightly. But everything looked fuzzy. I moved my hand to search for my phone but I didn't find it. I sat up on the bed and stretched my arms then rubbed my eyes to clear my vision. But all of a sudden I felt a throbbing pain in my head. Clutching my head with both my palms firmly,  I groaned with extraim. The pain was really unbearable.

I blinked my eyes for some moment and finally, my vision became clear. And I got a 440-degree bolt shock when I found myself not in my room. I looked here and there, up and down.

“What the hell! Where am I?" A fear of the ball grew inside my stomach and I immediately looked inside the sheet to check if I was naked. But to my relief, I was fully dressed. I scratched the back of my head in confusion thinking about how I ended up here. I tried to recall the incident that happened last night. 

Suddenly I heard my phone ringtone again so I looked for my phone and I found it lying neatly on the nightstand. I took it in my hand and glanced at the screen. It was Mom. Swiping the answer button I put the phone on my ear.

“Hello,Mom." 

“Hell with your Hello. Where the hell are you, girl? Why haven't you reached the Silver Moon Pack yet? And why haven't I been able to reach you since midnight? Are you alright? You are not in any trouble, are you? Can you tell me where you are? I shouldn't have let you go alone after the rejection. I should have accompanied you.” 

"Mom, Mom. For the Moon Goddess sake, please, Calm down.”

I could hear mom's heavy breathing. She was worried for me. I recalled last night's incident and how I ended up drinking with Alpha Sebastian. 

Oh, Goddess! 

I didn't do anything stupid, right? 

What an embarrassment. How am I going to face him now?

“Lais, are you there?" I heard Mom's voice from the other end of the call.

“Yeah, Mom. I'm in Crimson Shadow Pack. My car broke down and Alpha Sebastian offered me to stay the night in his pack. I will leave for the Silver Moon Pack in a while. Don't worry about me. I'm absolutely fine. Your daughter isn't weak. I'm a fighter. I won't fall weak after a rejection. He's a bastard and isn't worth my tears.” 

I heard Mom chuckling. "I'm sorry, I couldn't do anything for you. But I hope you find happiness there.” I smiled hearing her words.

"Definitely. I don't think Moon Goddess is that cruel. I'm sure she has better plans for me.” 

"Okay, I will hang up now. Reach safely there and call me after reaching there.”

“Sure. Bye.” 

"Bye.”

I put my phone back on the nightstand  only to find a strip of Advil lying there and there was paper under the strip. I picked up both of them and unfolded the paper to read.

“Miss Volkova. Please have this medicine so you will feel better. Due to some important work, I have to go to the office early, hence we will not be able to meet. I hope you had a great time here and reached safely to your destination. See you soon.” A smile made its way to my lips as I finished reading the note Sebastian left for me.

I think I haven't caused any trouble for him. Otherwise, he wouldn't be this polite. I hope we meet again. But is it possible?

I shuffled off the bed only to hear a knock on the door. I went to open the door and found Tina standing with Mrs. Russo. I was so stunned that I didn't even blink and kept looking at her blankly.

“Hello, Lais. Nice meeting you. I hope you feel comfortable here." I came back to my senses when Mrs. Russo spoke up.

“Aah! My apologies, Mrs. Russo. I didn't greet you properly.” I quickly bowed my head before her as a greeting.

“I was so shocked to see you before me that I couldn't react at all. Please forgive my impudence. And please come inside.” Mrs. Russo laughed and stepped inside when I held the door wide open for her.

Gosh! 

She looked gorgeous while laughing. She was my idol. I really like her and her beauty. And Mr. And Mrs. Russo's couple was the perfect power couple everyone admired.

“It's absolutely fine. You are really a sweetheart. I wish you could stay some more days here.” I smiled at her courtesy.

“Ah! I can't. You know, I'm a rogue and it's not safe to roam around like this. I need to get to my Aunt's pack. And don't worry, I will visit your pack to meet you.” I told her and her face turned gloomy.

"I can understand. I'm looking forward to meeting you again soon." She took my hand in hers and told me with her beautiful smile. And I nodded at her.

“I have brought you some clothes.” Tina came forward holding the clothes in her hand.

“Whoa! That's so thoughtful of you. But there was no need for that. I have clothes in my car. I could have brought them here. Still, thank you so much for your kindness.” I again bowed my head before her, expressing my gratitude.

“It's nothing. Go and freshen up then come down to have breakfast before leaving." She said in her sweet voice and walked off the room.

I walked into the bathroom and took a shower then got ready and went downstairs to find everyone in the dining area waiting for me. I felt so embarrassed for being late.

“Hello, Mr. Russo. I didn't know you all were waiting for me. I'm really sorry.” I bowed my head three times apologising to everyone sitting at the dining table.

"It's okay. Please have a seat.” Mr. Russo was extremely polite with me when I knew he was famous as a cold Alpha in his time.

“Thank you. I'm glad to have a meal with you.” I gave a small bow and walked over to the empty chair next to Shanaya but badly interrupted by a cold tone.

“You can't sit there. It belongs to Alpha Sebastian. Sit somewhere else.” I looked up to see a woman in her mid thirties glaring at me as if I wasn't just going to sit on his chair but was about to take over his throne.

“Please, don't mind her. She doesn't like others touching her nephew's things. She's over possessive of him.” Mrs. Russo said with an apologetic face and I smiled back at her.

“It's fine. I just didn't know." I walked to the end of the table and settled on one of the chairs.

“I'm really grateful to you for last night, Lais. If you weren't there at the right time that guy must have harmed my princess. To show my gratitude I propose you to join my pack if you don't mind.” Mr. Russo offered me in a polite tone while I looked at him in utter shock.

He's telling me to stay in this pack. In Sebastian's pack! I was over the moon. I was jumping in my mind. I opened my mouth to say when Sebastian's Aunt bit me into it.

“What's the need to take her in? I admit she has saved our Shanaya. We thanked her for that and even let her stay at our place for a night. It's enough. And she would be more comfortable in her Aunt's pack. I don't think she would want to join our pack, am I right, Lais.” Aunt stared at me like she was daring me to join their pack.

What's wrong with her? I don't think I have offended her before. I didn't even know her. Then why doI feel like she doesn't like me much.

I looked at Mr. Russo and stood up from my chair. I bowed my head before him. “I appreciate your kindness, Mr. Russo. But I totally agree with her. I will be more comfortable in the Silver Moon. Please forgive me for declining your offer. I didn't mean to disrespect you.” I said in my extrem polite voice. And it didn't get unnoticed by me when Aunt's lips curved up in a smug smile.

“It's absolutely fine. I don't mind anyway." This time he gave me a small smile and told everyone to start the meal.

After having breakfast I didn't waste a moment and left the Russo Residence after bidding bye to everyone. I just spent a night here and I felt like I was going away from home. 

Strange!

I hope to see Sebastian again. A smile appeared on my face thinking about Sebastian while I started driving the car to The Silver Moon Pack.

“Aunt Rosaline." I ran to her and hugged her hard as soon as I entered the house.

“I missed you, dear.” She held me tightly in her arms. Then we pulled away.

"Luna, Alpha requests your presence at his study room along with your niece.” Beta Michelle said to Aunt and then his eyes darted to mine and looked up and down with a strange look on his face.

“Yeah.” Aunt responded and looked at me.

“Let's go to meet your uncle and finish the process.” I nodded at her and followed her to the study room.

Aunt opened the door and stepped inside while I also stepped in behind her keeping my head down. Closing the door behind me I looked up at Uncle Jacob.

“Good evening, Uncle Jacob.” I greeted him while bowing my head before my future Alpha.

“Welcome to our Pack, Lais. Please take a seat. I hope you haven't got into any trouble while coming here.” He looked up from his files and passed me a warm smile.

“Thanks. No, I ran into Alpha Sebastian while coming here. He offered to let me stay at his place as it was quite late. That's why it takes some time to reach here.” I explained to him taking a seat across from him. Aunt Rosaline sat on the next seat beside me.

“Let's start the process.” Saying that he sliced his wrist and drew out some blood on a glass and passed it to me to drink.

I held the glass and drank it. “Now pledge to me.” He ordered. 

“I, Lais Volkova,pledge my loyalty and my life to Alpha Jacob Spencer of Silver Moon Pack.” As the last word left my lips, a searing pain exploded in my head making me clutched my head. But it stopped the next moment.

“Are you okay?" Aunt placed her hand on my shoulder and asked me with a concerned filled tone.

“Yeah," I nodded with a faint smile.

“That's great. Go and rest in your room. You are going to attend the Lucan King and Lycan Queen's marriage anniversary with us tonight." She cheered with a full blown smile.

“Tonight!" She nodded at me.

“I don't want to hear a no from you. Take it as an order from your Alpha." Uncle Jacob said.

"I won't Alpha. I will be ready on time.” Saying that I got up from my seat.

"I will make a move then." I bowed my head before my new Alpha and Luna then headed to my new room.

“Why do I feel like something is going to happen tonight?" I thought in my mind when my sixth sense felt something strange.
