CHAPTER 3: YOU'RE PERFECT

ROSALINE’S POV:

My head spins, I know what this means. It’s an indirect way of him asking for sex.

Am I ready for that?

My gaze drops to his.

Am I ready for that with him?

I know Damien, I’ve heard about his escapades.

With his gaze locked on mine, he frowns deeply, “I’d never treat you the way I do them.” he says, like he can read my mind. “You're my mate. You're different.”

The vice I hadn’t realized was closed tight around my chest loosens instantly.

“You can trust me,” he says, grey eyes searching mine. I have no idea what it is, or why I give in.

But I nod my head, “Yeah, I’d like to take it off.”

He stares at me for a long moment before focusing on my dress. He pulls down the zip on the side, letting the material fall away from me. I take off the hat, tossing it on the floor.

I’m half naked standing between his spread thighs, as his gaze rakes over my exposed flesh. It singes everywhere he looks, like he’s touched me there. He parks his hands on the front of my thighs.

“Have you done this before?”

I swallow, then shake my head. He nods. Pushing me away slightly, he rises to his feet.

Is he changing his mind? Because I’m inexperienced?

“I want to make this the best experience possible for you.” he says, staring earnestly into my eyes. “I don’t want to hurt you.”

My chest warms, again. Goddess, the effect he had on me without even trying. His words melt my heart and I nod at him, encouraging him.

“You won’t hurt me, I trust you.”

Something flashes in his eyes, but it’s gone the next second. He cups my chin, leaning down and pressing a soft kiss to the side of my mouth, then my jaw.

He trails his lips along my neck, ghosting across my skin before his mouth comes up to mine.

His minty breath fills my nostrils as he exhales, pulling me towards him by the back of my neck as his lips seal over mine. It’s a sweet, soft kiss, and I lose myself in the careful way his lips slant over mine.

It’s too little and too much at the same time.

Angling my head, his pries my mouth apart with his, sliding his tongue against mine and deepening the kiss.

He groans deeply, and I press my hands against his chest to ground myself, feeling the vibrations underneath all the toned muscle. With a mind of their own, my hands slide down his shirt, pulling at the hem.

I slide it up halfway, gliding my hands over his heated skin as I go, but he snatches my wrist, shaking his head.

“There’s more than enough time for that,” he says, nipping my lower lip, “But for now, let me take care of you.”

He lifts me at the waist, my thighs instantly wrapping around him as he spins us, laying me down on the bed. He moves away, pulling his shirt off with one hand before kneeling back on the mattress.

His mouth trails over my skin, leaving teeth marks and love bites in his wake. I squirm underneath him, loving his administrations, holding him tight against my body with my legs wrapped around his waist.

His hand curves under me and I arch my back. With a snap of his wrist, he unhooks my bra.

He tosses the lace aside, his gaze narrowing on my breasts. Slowly, he drags his eyes across each one, like he’s committing them to memory. My nipples pucker under his undivided attention, jutting in the space between our bodies.

He palms one breast, and I let out a soft moan as his thumb rocks back and forth over the hardened peak.

“Exquisite,” he whispers, leaning down and capturing the nipple in his mouth.

A mewl escapes me and I arch my back. I’d never felt anything like… this. The heat of his mouth laps around my sensitive peak, and pleasure consumes me. He moves away, repeating the same thing with the other one. My hands slide into his hair, and I tug on the locks when I can’t take anymore.

He pulls way from my chest, his eyes hot and heavy lidded, “You’re sensitive.”

“Is that a bad thing?” I breathe.

“Not at all.”

His mouth crashes against mine once again. It’s a battle of tongue and teeth, nothing like the first kiss. I love every second of it. His hands snake over my waist, over my thighs and grab my knees at his waist.

He pulls at them, lifting his body away from mine as he breaks the kiss.

His hands drag down my knees, over my outer thighs before hooking into the band of my underwear.

He hesitates, his gaze meeting mine. I nod at him, offering a reassuring smile. He pulls the material down my legs.

Cold air ghosts across my center and my thighs find each other. Damien trails his hands up from my ankles to my knees. He grasps both of them, pulling them apart.

I’m wide open now, on full display.

His gaze fixes on my pussy as he lets out a low curse from under his breath.

His hands shoot out, trailing gently along my seam.

“Beautiful,” he whispers, “Fucking beautiful.” His thumb strokes an extra sensitive part of me and I whimper, my body heating like a live wire.

“You like that, don’t you?” He does it again, and again, and again. I’m full on moaning as his thumb strokes over me, my head thrashing on the soft pillows.

“Answer me.” his voice is gravely, strained. I nod my head frantically.

“Use your words.” I grow lightheaded at his tone. So, commanding, so Alpha.

“Yes!” I cry. His finger moves away, prodding at my entrance. His gaze slides up to mine, holding me captive as he pushes his finger into me.

I clench around him, and he growls out a low, “Fuck.”

He pulls his finger out of me, pushing himself lower on the bed. He drags my thighs toward him, till my pussy is literally in his face. I attempt to shield myself with my hands but he stops me, pinning them on the bed.

“Damien,” I say, bracing myself up on my elbows.

At the first sweep of his tongue, I fall back on the bed, immediately losing my train of thought.

He drags his mouth against my sensitive flesh, alternating between long licks and soft flicks over that extremely sensitive nub.

My thighs tremble on either side of his head, my breaths coming out in short pants. Two fingers prod at my entrance again, before inching in. I wince at the slight stab of pain, but urge him on, knowing he’s prepping me for an even bigger intrusion.

And for my sake, I hoped the rumors weren't true.

I’m hot and slick with need, but before I can crest on the hill of pleasure, Damien pulls away. He kicks his socks off, dragging his jeans along with his boxers down his legs.

I gasp at the size of him.

The rumors were true.

“It’ll be okay,” he says, “I’ll take care of you.”

He kisses along my body as his broad head nudges against my entrance. The pain morphs, from a sting to a burning sensation. Then back to stinging, before it settles into a dull ache as he hips rock back and forth. The pleasure builds, and takes over until I’m shuddering underneath him

He cradles my head in his hands, chasing his own release.

“You’re perfect, Rosaline.” He whispers, “Don’t ever forget that.”

ROSALINE’S POV:What?"I’m sorry, what?" The words were out of my mouth before I could stop them. My father frowned at my tone but was quick to mask it with a tight smile."Do not act so shocked, darling. You are not getting any younger, and you are yet to find a mate. I believe this marriage will be beneficial to both of our families; the financial and political gain would be out of this world! If our two packs collide, we will be unstoppable. Even the blood moon pack would cower beneath our feet!" my father exclaimed with a sparkle in his eyes, and I could not even begin to imagine the things that were going through his mind. But whatever they were, it wasn’t good.A sharp sting struck my head, and I pinched my eyelids closed. My delicate fingers went up to my temple, and I massaged it softly. This was all too much; I couldn’t even get a damn break! For God’s sake, I just got rejected by my own mate, and now I am being married off to some stranger. This was all just too much."Can

ROSALINE’S POV:After wiping the sweat off my forehead, I cleaned up the last spec of dust from the table before standing upright to look at my work. I smiled with satisfaction just before the owner of the penthouse walked in. His eyes glimmered with delight upon seeing his now-shiny penthouse; it had been abandoned for months and was infested with layers of dust and cobwebs. But now it looked completely brand new."It looks even better than when I first bought it! I suppose what they say about you is true; you really are the best there is," he said with a warm smile as he continued to inspect the vicinity."I’m glad you like it, sir," I told him formally, but indeed, I really was tired, and it was just ten in the morning. I barely had up to four hours of sleep last night, or any night for the past five years. I always started off my day early. I woke up every day by four in the morning, got myself and Ariana ready for the day before dropping her off at Gwen’s, then got to the compa

She was the first thing that caught my eye the moment she stepped foot on our land. I did not know what was so attractive about her; the palace was swarming with girls of royal and noble bloodlines, girls that were far more elegant and radiant than her. Yet somehow, she was the most beautiful woman that I had ever come across.Whatever conversation I was having with my father came to a halt as my feet began to move on their own toward her.I could hear my father’s enraged commands for me to return, but I completely ignored him. All my focus was on that maid. Who was she? Why did she look oddly familiar? Has she come here to clean before? But we only moved here a few months ago, so I should be able to remember her.My feet came to a stop behind a pillar as I watched her and her colleagues unpack some boxes from their van, but my gaze was trained so

I really need to learn how to control my tongue. My heart pounded wildly against my ribcage as I stood on the far edge of Damien’s room in nothing but a blood-red robe. Immediately after Damien had demanded that I be the first person to warm his bed, two servants appeared by my side and escorted me to a room to change. My pleas fell on deaf ears as I received numerous glares from the other contestants. The maids helped me change into blood-red lingerie, and I did not fail to catch the look of pity in their eyes. I practically had to wail before I was given this robe. Once we were done, they escorted me to his chambers, and one of the maids shot me an encouraging smile. I knew it was where the locals resided, but how primitive were they? And how was their lifestyle?Thoughts like this filled my mind as the other girls complained amongst themselves about how ugly and disgusting the people were and how they were not going to get any good shopping done because everything about them was of bad quality.Occasionally I would zone in and out of their conversation; not all of them engaged in the conversation, but I could tell none of them were happy about this. Maybe the Southside was not as bad as they made it out to be. I was a royal as well; I grew up with the same luxuries and care as them, but I also experienced a major downgrade. Maybe I would not find the place that bad.An hour later, we arrived at the southside, and I immediately took back my words.Okay, this was as bad as they sai

ROSALINE’S POV:SEVEN MONTHS LATER:I watched Damien and Ariana’s wolf run around the courtyard with a speed my human eyes could barely keep up with. At this point, I was not sure which of them was faster. They have been doing this every morning for the past six months. Damien had made it their morning to train Ariana himself; he wanted her to become the strongest woman in the pack. And I was scared of that. The speed at which she improved was frightening. At this rate, she would be the strongest wolf in the world by the time she was eighteen.“Damn, she is getting better and better,” Peace said, and my gaze shifted to her. She cradled Light in her arms, and the tender baby yawned. The day Light was born was quite an eventful day for all of us. It was early in the morning, and we were all in the kitchen when her water broke. Ariana was the one who raised an alarm by saying, “Aunt Peace peed herself.”Peace, who was embarrassed, defended herself, but we all knew what was going on. We d

He drove me down to my supposed therapist’s office, and I considered jumping out, but I had to remember that I was pregnant. Peace sat in the back seat, and I had no idea when she and Damien could be in the same space without growling at each other.“Yes, you do, Rosaline. You should have seen yourself yesterday; you were about to faint over something that wasn’t even there,” Peace said, and I folded my arms above my chest.“Okay, I admit that what happened yesterday was a bit out of character, but I am fine now. Just because I had one panic attack does not mean I need therapy." I defended myself, but neither of them looked like they would be going back on their decision.“It’s not just one; you have had several in the past."“I am not talking to you,” I snapped at Peace, and she reared her head back with surprise.“Rosaline, calm down. ROSALINE’S POV:“Yeesh, mothers are the worst,” Peace chuckled, and I shook my head with wonder. We were both at a baby store picking up some stuff for the baby. I mean, I know it was still a bit soon, but little by little, Damien and I would be getting some things ready. And we still did not know the gender of the baby, but we were able to get the essentials and some unisex clothes.“Tell me about it; my worst nightmare would be to end up like her sometime in the future,” I said with a huff. I picked up a pair of black baby shoes and inspected them. It was way smaller than my hand, perfect for a newborn baby.“Trust me, you will never be like that. Give yourself some credit; you are one of the best moms I have ever seen. This kid and Ariana are so lucky to have you,” Peace said, and her words warmed my heart. She picked up a pair of pink baby ballet shoes and put them in the cart.“Oh, no, we have to get unisex wear for now; I still do not know the gender of my baby,” I told her, but

ROSALINE’S POV:I am so hungry.I laid on my back on my bed, staring at the ceiling as I wondered how cruel Damien was. How could he just leave me like that to starve?I mean I know I have been eating for the past three hours, but doesn’t he know that it’s for two? He is so mean.Tears began to blur my vision, and my bottom lip trembled. I knew Damien did not love me anymore. It was the only explanation! Maybe because of what happened with Magnus, he is disgusted by me. Yes, that’s it. That’s why he didn’t want to get me the pizza.I really am unbelievable.“Good God, why are you crying now?”My eyes snapped to the door, and I found Damien standing by the doorway with a box that had steam coming out of it. Instantly, my nose picked up the scent, and I sat up quickly.“I thought you weren’t going to get me the pizza,” I said, and he walked over to me, setting the box of pizza in between us. He opened it, and the steam kissed my face. I could not stop the smile from stretching my lips a

ROSALINE’S POV:“Why is the food not ready yet?!” I snapped at Damien, who stirred the pot of pudding as fast as he could. A bead of sweat trickled down his forehead as he whisked, turned, seasoned, diced, and sprinkled as fast as his hands could. Ariana was right by his side, helping in the little way she could, even though she could not quite keep up with his speed. We would have asked one of the maids to prepare it, but for some reason, I really enjoyed foods that were prepared by either Damien or Ariana and Damien was an absolutely horrible cook. So, the taste had nothing to do with my favouritism, just the sentiment. A part of me was grateful that Ariana was helping him out, so at least it would not taste like complete shit. Jake was here as well. But unlike the other two, he was completely lost and only helped with the dishes.“It’s coming; it’s coming. Just a few more minutes,” Damien said in haste.“Hurry up, I am so hungry,” I whined, picking up some pieces of carrot that he

DAMIEN’S POV:FEW HOURS EARLIER:She was still fast asleep. I slipped my arms away from her, careful not to wake her up. Gently, I got off the bed and exhaled. I do not know how long I stood above the bed staring at her, but I did not care. Somehow, the longer I stared at her, the angrier I got. Not because she now carried a child that was not mine, but because I let that bastard put that child in her in the first place.I need some fresh air.I left the room quietly and headed down to our gym. The hallway was still silent; I passed a few guards and even got some sleep. Figured. Everyone was quite tired; now that the enemy was eliminated, everyone was taking that break they had so long deserved.Except Rosaline. It’s like, no matter how hard I try to take her pain away, a new one starts.I took off my shirt and tossed it aside. I started on the punching bag and poured out every ounce of my frustration on it. All my anger, all my sadness, all my guilt, I threw into my punches. After a

ROSALINE’S POV: I could not stop screaming.Somehow, my body, which had been a practical vegetable for the past month, was full of life and rage. I threw and tossed everything in sight while I screamed out my lungs. I could hear people telling me to calm down, but I could not hear them. I could not hear anything; I did not want to.It was all coming back to me. that night. Magnus. His touch. Everything.“NO!” I grabbed a plate and shattered it against the wall. The shards flew across the air, and I think a few pierced me in the process, but I did not care. A pair of arms came up from behind me and swept me off my feet. I immediately recognized them as Damien’s and began to sob. “It’s not fair! No!"“Just calm down, baby. Please, just relax; you are hurting yourself,” he whispered, and I pinched my eyes shut. Tears fell helplessly down my face, and my body began to tremble. Damon held me and lifted me back to the bed.“I thought you would be happier, Luna. I am sure Princess Ariana wi

Well, technically, one of them was a coward and killed himself instead, but it was the same thing to me anyway. For the past month, Rosaline has been bedridden, but unlike me, she is not as fussy and agitated. I mean, at times she preferred to do things by herself, but you cannot compare the two of us when we are bedridden. It irks me down to my very soul that I cannot do so much as do the necessities of life.Anyway, after the first three days, she pretty much accepted her condition and let us help her around. “What other choice do I have? If I continue to struggle, then I might only make things worse for myself,” she had said, and I wonder what would have happened if I had said the same thing all those months ago when I was in her condition.I waited outside the room for Peace to finish dressing her up so I could take her downstairs for breakfast. That devil.I cannot say that I remember much of what happened during our time in bed, but I did not want to. All I remember was screaming my lungs out until I passed out. But now I am left with one question that I most probably will never get an answer to.What did he do to me?When I managed to pull myself together and stay conscious for just a few seconds, I thought I was flying. My body was high up in the air, and I had no idea where the hell I was. But he was right beside me; that was the only thing I knew.
