CHAPTER 81: ALMOST MARKED

LILITH’S POV

I sit on the hard floors of the library room again, the day after I’ve been given permission to enter here at will, with my back leaning against the first book shelf I had begun with.

It’s a different day and almost 3 hours have passed on the same bookshelf but there’s been no progress.

I’m starting to doubt if I can do go through every single shelf in this room. There might be up to a million books in here.

I sigh, falling and laying my back against the floors, staring at the white ceiling in front of me.

I’m trying not to panic but there’s still no clue, and the time left before Jonah gets sick again or Arden grows impatient and pays a visit draws closer.

And there’s still the plan to get the information I need from the guards just in case all this doesn’t work out.

I’m running out of ideas faster than I want to.

I close my eyes now, taking deep calming breaths. Instead of falling into a pit of anxiety and despair of my own making, I decide to distract myself.
