Chapter 1

Today whole witch kingdom was excited. Why? Well because today their queen turned eighteen. Yes, witch queen.....Iris Shawn....she took hold of her kingdom when she was fourteen. At the age of 14 her father died, it is said that he was murdered by vampires. Her father was a great man and a powerful warlock. His name was Derek Shawn and mother's name was Sheena Shawn. After her father's death, her mother left the kingdom in search of peace. And she has to come forward to take the reign of the Kingdome in her hands. She trained herself, she became the perfect witch and most powerful too. She also trained herself to fight.

Iris pov

"Iris, are you ready?" oh god I am late. Well, that was my little sister shouting my name. We are leaving today to visit my Aunt Mary. She lives in a human town; she is quite famous among humans as they call her a 'fortune teller'. After my mother left the kingdom she was the one who trained me and my powers but after that, she also left because she was missing my mother very much in the castle.

"Coming Eva, just a minute" I comb my hair and put on some really light makeup. I just wear jeans and a top because my traditional clothes will look odd to humans. And my traditional cloth can appear any time I want; I am a witch after all. There she is my baby sister. She is 14 years old and we both took care of each other after our parents left, she was only ten at that time. So after that, she is everything to me, and me for her.

"God Iris you made us late again, let's go we have to leave" she said angrily. I know why she is angry because she and my friends are planning my surprise birthday party at night, so she is taking me away from the castle, but I won't tell her that I already know about her plans, they all haven't wished me too, I will go with the flow and wait for the surprise, anything that makes her happy.

"Yeah ok Eva now don't be so mad and let's go"

"Wait” someone called, I turned around to see Jason there with a grin on his face. Jason is my best friend and my second in command as well. I actually like him as a person, well but he is already in love with me. We witches don't have destined mates like werewolves or vampires, we are like humans in that matter, we chose our male witches our self who are called warlocks. Everyone in the coven thinks I will choose him; I also think so but not any time soon.

"Yes Jason, anything important?" let's see if he wishes me or if he is also involved in the party plan.

"No just wanted to tell you to take care, and be back soon" I smiled at his concern, I know I am not in love with him right now but he is just so sweet that soon I will be. Ok, Jason plan for the party I will be back soon.

"I will, don't worry, and take care of coven while I am not here”

"Yes my queen," he said with a dramatic bow.

“and he has to take care of me too" Well that irritating voice was Meril. She is like a coven slut. She thinks she is the most beautiful girl here but anyone could see the thick layer of makeup and the main thing, she wants Jason as her mate very badly but Jason always turns her down.

"No, I will not" Jason said with irritation. Did I mention it? Jason can’t stand her.

"Why not baby, I am also a part of the coven, right queen?" God, she loves doing this. Now I have to tell yes. She hates me as well but as I am her queen she could not do anything else. So she does these stupid things just to get on my nerves.

“yes, and Jason please take care of yourself as well, for me ok?" And Jason nodded excitedly. Generally, I don't show affection to him like this but this was for Meril, to just piss her off and when I looked at her, her expressions were priceless.

After that, I and Eva left, but as we were halfway I was feeling depressed like I don't want to go like my kingdom needs me.

"Eva, I think we should go back, I am not feeling good about this"

“Why? No, we can't go back. Tell me what happened. Are you sick?" god Eva and her surprise, she won't let me go back but this feeling is too strong.

"I am not sick Eva but I am having this uneasy feeling about the future, like something really bad is going to happen, we should go back"

"Iris you are paranoid. You didn't leave the castle for so long, that's why you are feeling bad. It's just homesickness. Wait, why don't you call Jason, you can be sure that way" She might be right. I called Jason...

"Missing me already?" he said without even saying hello.

"No, I was just worried about the coven. Is everything ok? Does something bad happen?"

"Wait, wait, and take a deep breath, calm down baby. Everything is fine, why are you asking it? You know our coven is protected by the strongest of spells and magic."

"I know, but I just had this feeling like something bad will happen so I called to check”

"Relax iris, don't worry. You have done so much for our kingdom, now it's your time to relax for one day and be with your family, don't worry about anything else, I will handle it" Yes they all understand that I have sacrificed my childhood for them but it's nothing. I can die for them; they are my family.

"Ok, Jason I will. Thank you. I will be back soon. Take care, bye"

"Bye Ivy" I smiled at his nickname and disconnected. I was feeling better now. I know Jason will take care of the coven when I am not there.

Soon we reached Aunt Mary's house. She opened the door and took both of us in her embrace.

"It has been so long since last I saw you; you have grown up so much. I can't believe you have turned 18, and look beautiful too."

"Thank you so much aunt, it's great to see you again too" and then we all entered the kitchen, it was already lunchtime. I was about to prepare lunch when my aunt stopped me

"As much as I love food cooked by you dear, I have already prepared for lunch, just heat it, and I will arrange plates" Yes I love cooking since childhood. I heat the food and served it in three plates. And we started eating

"Eva how's your study and training going on?" yes we don't go to human school. We have to learn and memorize so many spells, so we have our own school in the kingdom where elder witches teach us all the spells and also train us to control our powers. We don't need to learn how to fight because we have our powers but still, I learned it because of my past experiences. Well let's not talk about it now

"Yes aunt, it’s going well, I am learning new spells from iris as well"

"Good, your sister is a perfect witch; she can teach you the best"

"Thank your aunt but I am not the best, I just try to make her understand that she doesn't at the school, that's it"

"modesty is in your blood iris, you are like your father...powerful still modest and humble, scarred but still never stop thinking about others, he would have been so proud to see you both like this today" and with that everything was quiet. I and Eva both miss our parents. I looked at Eva; she was on the verge of crying. I soon took control of my emotions and said

"Well Eva I am going to get ice crème, come on, run fast baby sister or I will finish all of it" and soon she ran after me forgetting about all her sadness. She soon started eating it with a smile; I will do everything in my power to make her smile.

Soon it was evening, and we were talking and enjoying ourselves like old days but as it started getting dark we both said our god byes to Aunt, and Eva set in the car, when Aunt took hold of my elbow tightly, and her eyes became white and she said

"Queen Iris, time is about to change, life will be tough, but don't lose hope, fight but don't run, look for a prophecy about yourself, real prophecy is the only thing that can save you, don't trust anyone except yourself in this matter"

I also capture this whole thing in my brain so I can replay it. As I said, she can tell the future, she herself won't remember anything about it. Witches of the royal family have royal gifts. She has a future and I have fire as a gift. I can control fire elements by myself. And Eva has a connection gift. She can connect to someone's brain and find out their location but her powers haven't fully grown, soon she will get all of them.

"Did I say something Iris?" the aunt asked but it is of no use to tell her, she won't remember

"No aunt, nothing, I think we should leave now, we have to reach the castle on time, goodbye Aunt, take care"

And I went to the car and started driving. I was thinking about what aunt said, our bad time is going to start, and I have to be careful, she told me to fight and not to run, I don't run anyways. What about prophecy? Real prophecy? Is there a fake one as well? I have to look for this prophecy as soon as I reach the castle.

I was extremely uncomfortable in these human clothes so I used my magic and changed to my original clothes, god this is much better.

"Iris, you can't stand these clothes, can you?"

"No, they make me uncomfortable" I increased the speed. again the feeling of earlier came back, and after what aunt told me, something bad will happen and I have to be there for my people to protect them.

Soon I entered my territory but the scene made me sick.

"Oh my god, what the hell has happened here?”I soon got out of the car and so as Eva. There were our guards lying on the floor dead. And it was like my whole kingdom was burning, as I was advancing further, there was blood, and different warlocks were lying either unconscious or dead. One of the bodies stirred and I rushed to him, made him seat and produce some water from my power, and made him drink.

"Tell me what happened here?"

"Queen ...they destroyed our kingdom, we tried to fight them but they came unannounced and attacked, Sir Jason lead us to fight, all the male warlocks tried to fight but they were barbaric before we can even do our magic, they started killing us mercilessly, then they captured sir Jason put him in cells, without the leader we have to accept our defeat, they also killed female witches who tried to fight them"

I was shaking with rage. And I asked only one thing after that...

"Who?"

He looked at me with so much fear that made me even angrier, who the hell put my people in so much pain that they are even fearing to take his name?

"Who did this, tell me now?" I asked angrily.

"Alpha king..."

And he died. I soon stood up and started walking towards the castle. I was shaking with rage. My hands were burning; my powers were begging to be released. But soon someone took hold of my hand and I angrily turned back but it was Eva there.

"Iris" shit how can I forget about her? I was so blinded by rage that I forget her. I took her in my arms and hugged her, she was crying now.

"Shhh...Eva don't cry, I am here, I won't let anything happen to you "

She looked at me

"What will they do now? Why they attacked us? Are werewolves also bad like vampires?" She has a point. We were enemies with vampires but werewolves? We didn't even come across any of them but I heard that their king is an awful person, he lives to kill. He doesn't show any mercy to his enemy, but why is he here?

"Eva I don't know why they did this to us, and I also don't know if they are bad or good, but right now we don't have time for this, we have to save our kingdom, and I am going to fight with them, and throw them out of our kingdom ok?"

"Ok"

Soon we reached the castle garden. I turned to Eva and used my hands and made her invisible.

"Listen, Eva, I shouldn't take you there but I can't even put you here unattended. So I made you invisible. You will come with me but stay at the door only. Wait for me there. Nobody will be able to see you till the time you don't make any noise, so don't make any noise, or else my magic will wear off"

"Ok Iris, let's go" and we started walking towards the castle.

When I reached the door, both the wolf at the door looked at me and prepared to attack but I summoned my fire and in a second they were dead. I was feeling good by killing them. I made it quick so Eva doesn't have to watch the bloodshed.

"Eva stay here, I will come to get you, and don't make any noise”

And I entered the castle. And I almost cried. The whole throne room was decorated. Oh god, this was supposed to be my birthday party. But these monsters ruined it, and now they will pay for it.

Those animals were playing with my balloons destroying them and all the things that they can get to destroy. Soon my eyes landed on my throne. But someone else was seating on it, I recognized him.....

Alpha king...

And my all hatred from earlier returned with full force, seeing him on my throne. And I used all my rage and shouted making the whole throne room silent.

"ALPHA KING"
