LoganLast night scared me. Watching the witches perform their abracadabra with my pregnant mate. I was glad that Frey had decided that it was time to reach out to her family. She needed the answers more than she knew, and I would be here for her through the truth that awaited us outside the pack.Rounding the territory twice before returning to the pack house to get ready for the day caused a delay in today's run. And guess what I found? What or who?In wolf form, I sprinted down the narrow path of the still forest that still had a sliver of the morning darkness. FreyI looked through the window, glimpsing the forest of trees that lined the roadway. We had left the pack and had been on the road for the past two hours. My father was behind the wheels, and he was heading up the mountainside, carefully navigating the winding steep slope roads. We emerged into a town after we had driven through the high land and appeared at the settlement. It was larger than I expected. It was normal to find small towns under the mountains, but this place was exceptionally huge. “We’ve arrived.” Denzel prattled and glanced at me through the rearview mirror.I forced a smile whilst my heart slammed against my rib cage. As he drove closer, I felt he was moving nearer to the truth, and it scared me. What if my origins weren't worth it? What if I'm related to the Reaper?I wanted to shut my mind off and vanish for days. But Agatha was right. FreyLogan booked the motel for another night before we left the premises to search for any of my existing relatives. He hurried down the stairs, taking them two at a time, to meet Shannon, Denzel, and me standing in the middle of the compound. “Morning.” He said to us as he couldn't help but notice the surrounding despair. We hadn't resolved our problems last night as they didn't want to talk to me.“Morning, sweetheart.” I said as I laid a kiss on his cheek.“I did a locator spell with Frey’s blood, and it should be able to lead us to his doorstep.” Shannon informed him. Witches could do locator spells with the blood of a relative, something that belonged to that person: their bones, hair or paw or footprints.“Come on, let's get to the car. I'm driving.” Denzel said. Logan tossed him the keys as we traipsed to the vehicle which was parked adjacent to the motel. Shannon It was supposed to be a normal night out where we'd hunt for food. But tonight my father died. We had a friend in the pack that helped us with the little he had once in a while, and my father and I were returning from the run when we ran into the ruthless Alpha and his heir, Logan.
