Chapter 3

Helena's Pov

I woke up in an unknown place for the second time. But this time is different because I didn't wake up in the middle of the forest but inside a huge room. The room was spacious enough to make seven bedrooms. The pink curtains were big and has a beautiful design of dandelion. I slowly got up from the bed and walks to the side of the window to peek outside. I noticed that I am in the higher area in this house. Third or fourth floor? I couldn't guess right. I also notice that we are surrounded by huge trees. A huge house in the middle of a forest? Interesting. But who is the owner of this house? Don't tell me that this house was owned by that ruthless Alpha Duncan?

When I heard footsteps approaching the room where I am, I quickly walk back into the bed and lay down. When the door opened I close my eyes and pretended that I am still sleeping. I know it was Alpha Duncan although I still didn't see him because my instinct told me that he was the one that comes into this room. And if my instinct is correct I might pretend that I'm still asleep because I don't want to see him.

"Stop pretending, lady. I know you're already awake. I just heard your footsteps before I enter your room," Alpha Duncan talks with me.

Feeling annoyed, I open my eyes and gives him a bad look. Why is the hearing of this animal so strong? I get up and just sit on top of the bed since it's no use pretending that I am still sleeping.

"This is not my room because I am not going to stay here. I will leave here and finds my relatives. Understand?" I replied to what he had said to me. It's better to let him know that I am not going to stay longer and I am not willing to stay with him. He is ruthless and I felt that my life span will decrease if I stay longer with him.

Duncan suddenly holds tight my chin and lifts it with one hand. "You're not going anywhere. You will stay here and you will become my luna! Understand?" he replied to me angrily while copying my tone. His yellowish eyes suddenly turn into silver. I just know that his yellowish eyes will turn to silver when he is angry. I found it amazing and mesmerizing just by looking at his pair of beautiful silver eyes. But it's not enough to make me stay and be his luna.

"I don't want to be your luna! Why don't you find someone else whose willing to be your luna? I want to leave here and find my family. I want to know where are they and where did I come from? I also want to know who was the person and why he left me in the middle of a forest? And besides, why should I marry you when I just barely know you. You too. You also don't know my name because we only met earlier," I reason with him. I don't know where I found my courage to argue with this alpha while in front of those vampires my body was shaking in fear and felt like jelly.

"You still can't understand your situation right now, lady. In my place, I am the alpha. I am the law and my words are law. So when I say that you will become my luna then you have no choice but to obey me," he said full of arrogance in his voice. "And if you leave here, where do you think you're going? You just said that you want to find your family but you don't remember anything about yourself so I guess you have amnesia. So you have no choice but to stay here and be my luna."

"Yes. I don't remember my past, my family, and where I came from but I will find them once I leave here. So please let me go," I beg him. Although I know he is not going to listen to my words I still try my best to convince him.

Duncan let go of my chin when a middle-aged woman knocks and enters the room with a tray of food in her hands. She places the food on the small table beside the bed and pushes it carefully near to Duncan. After she delivers the food she quickly leave the room without glancing at me. It's obvious that the woman was scared of Duncan that's why she left hurriedly.

"You better eat first so you have the strength to quarrel with me," Duncan said and then he pick the spoon and give it to me.

"I'm not going to eat that. Who knows what kinds of food you're going to feed me? What if it is human flesh?" I said while my eyes widened. Just the thought of a human body being chopped by a sharp knife and then cooked and serve to me makes me feel like vomit.

"This is not human flesh. It is a fish, okay?" Duncan's expression seems like he was almost run out of patience with me.

"I'm still not going to eat that!" I still refused to eat. I don't know if he asks his cook to put some drugs on my food so I will stay here in his house.

Duncan's rope of patience was cut. He holds my chin again and presses it hard with his hand. "Are you going to eat or I will feed you using my mouth?" he warned me. My eyes widened at what he said. I'm scared that he might really feed me using his mouth. Damn! I have no choice but to eat the food.

"Okay. Okay! I will eat! Are you happy now? But can you please go out? I can't eat while some scary beast is watching me while eating. I might choke from fear," I said. There's a tone of surrender in my voice.

Duncan's silver eyes suddenly become one line so I quickly get the quilt beside me and cover it in my head. I thought he was going to attack me when I heard him growled.

"Call me a beast one more time and you will see what kind of scary beast I am," he warned me and then walks out the room. I remove the quilt when I heard the loud bang of the door closing.

"Thank goodness! He was gone. So scary," I muttered and then let out a deep sigh. My eyes scan the food and I suddenly felt hungry when I see the grilled fish with sauce. It looks delicious so I pick up the fork and spoon and then start to eat. It's delicious. I think it's my first time eating this kind of fish.

I eat all the food on the tray. I never knew that I was hungry. Maybe because my mind focus only on wanting to leave here and didn't notice that I am already hungry. I should fill my stomach so I could think about how I can escape from this mansion. But if I escaped from here where will I go? I don't know any place here as if I don't belong in this world.

After I finished all the food I brought the tray and plates downstairs. The house is so big but I just went down and I already found the kitchen. I saw the middle-aged woman who brought the food into my room. She is washing the dishes so I just put the tray on the countertop in front of her.

"Hi. I'm Helena. I just finished the delicious foods that you cooked so I brought the empty plates here in the kitchen," I speak with her and start a conversation. But the woman has no chance to talk to me because Duncan suddenly appeared.

"So your name is Helena? Nice name. It suits the name of my luna," Duncan's voice from my back. I didn't notice his presence because he walks so light.

"Can I go out? I want to breathe fresh air. I felt suffocated inside this house," I ask him and ignore what he said. Duncan didn't answer but instead, he stare at me. "What? Don't tell me you're going to lock me up inside this house? If you gonna do that I'd rather die than to be locked up."

"I will let you out and walk outside my house but I will tell you. You can't escape from me because my wolfmen were just around and securing the safety of my place. So if you think you can escape from me then you are big wrong," Duncan told her with a serious face. "And there's a garden beside my house. You can go there and talks with the plants."

I rolled my eyes at what he said. "Don't worry because I will not escape now but I will do it some other day. And I will do what you said. I will talk with the plants because I prefer to talk with them rather than you," I gave him an annoying smile and then gently smiled at the middle-aged woman before I walk outside the door. I'm glad that he didn't follow me because I don't want to be alone with him.

I found the garden that he was talking to. His garden is beautiful. There are a lot of different flowers that I don't even know their names. But they were pleasing in my eyes and could lessen the heavy things in my chest. I sat down on the wooden chair and took a deep sigh. As I walk earlier, I notice that what Duncan said to me was right. I think it's hard to escape from here because his wolf men surrounded the house so there's no way to escape. But I believe that I will find a way to escape from this beautiful cage.

"Are you the luna that Alpha Duncan told me?" a fierce voice from my back suddenly speaks with me.

I stand up and turn my back to look at her. "Who are you?" I asked the woman with a beautiful face and red hair that looks like a fire. Is it a normal color of her hair or just a dye? My curious eyes linger from her face to her toe and then back to her red hair. I think I can ask for help from this woman. I will make friends with her so she will help me to escape from here. I was about to smile at her when she walks fast toward me and suddenly grab my arm. I couldn't help but scream when I felt so hot when her hand touches my skin. It feels like lava was put in my arm and burns my skin.

"How dare you seduce him! I should be the one to be his luna and not you!" the woman shouted at me angrily while holding my arm tightly.

"I didn't seduce him! And I don't want to be his luna at all. So let go of my arm because he is all yours!" I shouted at him while my mouth is twisted. I force my arm to get off from her grasp but she holds me so tighter even more. Damn you, Duncan! Because of you, I suffered like this. And I might die in the hands of this woman. Damn you, Duncan, but please help me!
