BATTLE OF WILLS

I gasped as his eyes opened. For a split second, it was a mix of brown, red and gold, something that had never happened before. Then it became brown so fast that I wondered if I had just imagined it. But it didn’t matter at the moment, all that mattered right now was that he was alive and he was here with me.

“Gav.” I called him as I wrapped my arms around him.

He held me as well and moved me so instead of kneeling beside him on the bed, I was now straddling him with my knees on either side of him. One of his hands was on the back of my head while the other was around my waist, and my two hands were around his neck. For several seconds, we stayed like that, just enjoying each other’s presence and reeling fromthe effects of the last ten minutes.

“I thought I lost you.” I whispered after a few minutes of silence.

“I should be the one telling you that. You left me.”
