Chapter Twenty-Four

Ruby watches Alexandra pour the mixture into the glass, with a lot of questions in her eyes.

"Who is this for?" Ruby finally asks, meanwhile Alexandra smiles in response, attempting to walk away.

Ruby who knew what that smile always meant, pulls her back slowly.

"I shouldn't drop this by mistake!" Alexandra says plainly.

"Of course. But hope Raphael isn't part of this plot, because I don't have strength!" Ruby says looking grim.

"Khadija!" Alexandra calls out with a raised eyebrow. "You just stopped wearing your hijab!" Alexandra says, she knew that was going to annoy Ruby.
