CHAPTER THIRTY FIVE: THE FAIR

I need to get a pregnancy test kit. There’s no way I can be pregnant, I can’t possibly be carrying a baby amidst all of these chaos, I’d wait one more week and if I don’t get my period after that, I’ll get the kit and run a test myself. Even Connor doesn’t want a baby now, he didn’t have to tell me before I knew, I saw how he’d froze when I joked back and I instantly knew bringing a baby into this world would be a terrible idea. I was lost in my thought until Julia yelled my name.

“What were you thinking, I’ve been calling for a while and you’ve been holding unto that sheet for too long.” She said. “Come on, the boys are done, let’s get to the truck.” She finished and I did not realize I’ve been standing or deep in thought for so long that I didn’t know when they finished packing.

“Okay, Coming.” I replied, walking behind her and folding the sheet I had in my hand. I need to occupy myself with something, else I’d lose my mind at the thought of being pregnant.
