CHAPTER SIXTY: Always the one you least expect.

“Where are we going now Sir?” Roy asked innocently oblivious to all of the happenings around us, after all we’d only gone for a vacation and we just arrived.

“Where the fuck else do you think we’ll be headed to?” I yelled making him jump a little before taking the route home.

“Connor!” Alannah called in a slight shout and I calmed, her voice, her presence is the only thing that managed to still keep me sane. I looked over at her for a while and when she mouthed “apologize” I had thought she was joking. I don’t apologize, maybe I do apologize to her and the few in my circle but definitely not my worker, she pulled her hands from my grip and kept them to herself.

“Fine.” I muttered. “I’m sorry Roy, I’ve just been a little bit on edge lately.” I apologized to Roy while slightly tapping his shoulder.

“It’s fine Sir.” A confused Roy assured and focused on the road.

“I’m sorry.” I said to Alannah while taking her hands in mine.
