Chapter 3

Maryanne's POV 

"Good afternoon students of the royal school," he greeted for the first time. Once again, that masculine, husky voice which sent sparks into my nerves.

"As you all know, I'm Prince Austin, first son of the King and I take up this position as Vice chancellor of the school, in preparation for my ascension to the throne.” He was trying to pass a message, but all I could hear the girls around say was; “His voice is so nice.” “His voice alone would make me wet.” And the likes. 

Of all these voices, one struck me. "So that's the eldest son of the king who was said to be studying abroad, wow!" It was as I guessed, it was Janey's friends, with Janey herself in their midst.

How the hell was she close to me? She was a back bencher and so were her friends. My guess was that they wanted to have a good look at the man. 

"Is he single? Does he have a mate?" My heart pricked as I heard Janey's best friend, Mia, ask this question. I was watching them with my hands crossed knowing she's gonna say something silly.

“He's the one I was talking about. I heard my sister say. She had obviously told her friends about me. 

“I don't believe it.” One of them said. “Your sister is too dumb and regular to bag such a man.” She added. 

"Look!" Janey took her phone out and scrolled through it. "See how he grabbed her from behind."

"Oh gosh! This is so romantic." Mia was blushing. Janey hit her on the shoulder.

"I didn't show you this to fall in love with it," she growled at her friend who suddenly composed. I cleared my throat before them. They turned, and my eyes darkened.

They were shocked that I was standing there. I know they wondered how long I was there and how much of everything they said that I had heard. 

I had a lot on my mind. Enough things to say to them to make sure it was their worst general meeting experience and I was ready to say it, if I wasn't interrupted by the new VC. 

"I can't have students misbehaving when I talk!” Austin said immediately, with a slightly angry tone. You, looking back as I talk. Come out!” He said. 

At first I was confused, but I was the only one looking back at that time. When I turned, my eyes met his furious eyes. “I said you!” He said again, causing me to step out. 

“How dare you distract yourself when I speak?” He asked me. I opened my mouth to say things, but the things didn't want to be said. 

"You shouldn't let me repeat myself!" He growled, his eyes turned bloodshot. Everyone kept quiet about what he was going to say. 

My heart began to play drums, and my head turned.

"Today is my first day as your VC, and you can't even give me complete regard. For that, you'll be punished in task form."

"What's your name?" I shrieked at the thought of him asking for my name. Was he so quick to forget? 

“My name is Maryanne…” 

“That's enough.” He cut me short, not letting me tell him my full name. That was so rude. At this point, I was beginning to think whatever happened that night wasn't going to influence him. It seemed like he hated me the most. 

"You will serve as my office cleaner indefinitely until I decide otherwise. I want to let you know that I'm strict in my discipline. You don't misbehave in my presence." 

There was no smile on his face, I wondered what pulled him up so seriously. He wasn't even looking at me.

"Goddess why?" I grumbled deep inside of me. "Why do I need to suffer from this?" Already I was trying to pull away from him as it made me remember I gave my virginity to a stranger, someone who was way higher than me in status and perfection. I would never get to be his mate, thinking about this is merely an illusion.

"Now return to your position and behave yourself," he told me. "This punishment takes effect from this evening." I lowered my face as I returned to stand beside Caroline. She draped her hand over my shoulders, nudging me.

"Don't worry, everything will be alright." She was concerned about me and she showed a sympathetic face. The rest of the activities for the evening, I did absent-mindedly. I was still thinking of what Prince Austin just said.

“You thought he would rate you after sleeping with him? You are officially a use and dump girl!” My sister said to me in the presence of her friends, causing all of them to laugh. I felt more terrible. 

Caroline's mom had come to pick her up, she offered to drive me home too since I was her daughter's best friend and I obliged. As I turned to enter the car, Caroline called out. 

"Maryanne."

I turned to bed confused. “Have you forgotten about your punishment?” She asked. 

I widened my eyes in shock as I remembered. I'd have to be making sure the VCs office was clean before leaving. 

I sighed as I turned and went back into school. Disappointedly and with a tensed breath. I just wished I wouldn't see Austin there because it was going to be awkward. 

I toughened up my mind as I walked towards his office. I didn't want to act weak before him. I wanted to prove to him that his actions didn't move me and I wasn't scared of him even when I knew I was in total shivers. 

When I reached the door, I took a large gulp of saliva before knocking it. It was surprisingly open and moved as my hands touched it. 

There wasn't any need to knock again, so I just let myself in. He wasn't in the office and the scene was sparkling, like they just finished cleaning it. 

I was excited and relieved. There was nothing to do again. Just as I wanted to turn, I felt heavy steps walk into the office, followed by the sound of the door closing. 

I froze, my heart now pounding in fear as I wouldnt turn. I wondered what he was going to do to me. Maybe I stayed too late and someone else did the cleaning I was supposed to do. I was in so much trouble. 

In the midst of all these thoughts, I heard him walk to me, stopping so close that his bulge rubbed my hands. 

His hands held on my waste softly as he brought his mouth to my ear, kissing it gently. I was confused as to what was going on. 

“I have missed you so much and thought of ways to have you to myself, and now, I finally do.”

He said to me. 

“What?!” I exclaimed, but within. “What did I just hear?!”
