Chapter 3

ADOPTED HEIR **Nathaniel**

      Nathaniel's P O V 

"I can't believe she said no to you. I mean who the hell is she to reject you? Who? Who the hell is she?" Peter yells in annoyance.

"I didn't expect she was going to reject you." Paul his twin brother added.

"Should we teach her a lesson?" Peter asks.

"No! You shouldn't. Leave her alone. I'll get her, I'm not giving up so soon. As annoying and strange as it is, I don't want to give up." I said to them.

"I support Peter on this, Nate. Maybe we should just teach her a grave lesson like we teach girls that are too clingy and won't leave you alone," Jay supported.

"Yo! That's what I'm saying. Bitçhes like her need to be taught a lesson. Doesn't she know who you are?" Peter hollers and frowns.

"I've told you, don't touch a single hair on her body. You'll have me to deal with if you go close to her. What I'm just going to do is try again, I'll let her go if she rejects me a second time. For now I'll just give her time, I won't show up in front of her too much. I'm thinking of winning her over on her birthday." I said to them.

"When we can just threaten her. This is too much of a work," Jay complained.

"You guys should just shut up and let's hear what his plan is." Paul fired at both his brother and Jay. 

"So what do you really need now? Which plan? Do you know a way to win her over?" Paul lowered his head and asked.

"I don't know yet but my guts is telling me, her birthday will be the perfect day. On that day, she'll be on top of the world especially when I hand her what I got for her, then I'll ask her out properly and she won't know how to refuse." I smile.

"I think that's a perfect plan."

"Sure, sounds like a good plan to me." Paul supports.

"Yeah, good plan my a*s." Peter groans. 

"She is not the only pretty girl in school, I can understand she's the number 1 but what of number 2 and 3? They are all dying for you. I mean why on earth did you pick her? I even heard she is a book worm. Even if she agrees, she won't have time to go on date with you because she is always with her books. You two will eventually break up. You two will end things within two weeks," Jay grimaces.

"Let's wait until it happens then." I say, standing up to my feet. 

"I need to leave now. Mom must be expecting me by now. And I mean what I said earlier, no one should touch her, don't even scare her, just leave her be. Paul please help me watch over your brother," I warn pointing to both Peter and Jay.

Those two are the most stubborn guys in school, I love stubborn tho and that's the reason why I love them despite their stubbornness. 

I got outside the school compound and got into my car.

"Please check yourself thoroughly, young Master." My driver Fred, says.

I brought down my backpack and search through the items there to find a stick a cigarette. I lower the car window and threw the cigarette out.

This kids won't seriously won't put me in trouble with my dad. 

"I'm clean," I say to my driver.

"Okay." He responds and start up the engine of the car.

"Straight home?" He asks.

"You can drop by the ice cream shop. Let's get mom a strawberry today," I say to her.

"Mom, I'm back." I announced entering the big sitting room with the strawberry.

"Oh son, you are back? I've been waiting for you." Mom says coming out from the dinning room. She comes to hug me before checking out my outfit.

"What is that?" She asked, pointing at the strawberry.

"It's just a little gift for you." I say lifting the strawberry up to her face.

"Woah, you bought me an ice cream? Oh goodness! Thank you so much son. Thank you." Mom thanked. She collected the ice cream and kissed my two cheeks.

I smiled. 

"Drop, drop your backpack. Let's go to the dinning," mom pulled the backpack from me and dropped it at one of the sofa's before escorting me to the dinning where she had prepared all types of dishes.

As usual.

"Which one? Which one do you want to eat? Pick out as many." Mom gestures.

"I would love to eat all but I can't. I'll only have to pick the pasta and the beef salad," I say picking out the two dishes this meals contained.

"Oh, just those two? Why don't you add chicken to eat? Or even turkey?" She asked pushing the two plates to me.

"No Mom, I'm okay. You should keep those for dad," I say and started eating.

She kept watching me as I ate.

"Is anything the matter son? You don't really look good." Mom says.

That's it. I was hoping to keep my failed attempt today from her. I don't want to tell her how I got rejected, it's really embarrassing and I know she won't like it either.

She doesn't really like me hanging out with girls either.

"Uh...mom, I'm sorry but I can't talk about it today. I'm too embarrassed to do so but when I've succeeded in getting what I want, I'll tell you then so for now please don't ask." I say to her.

She smiles a little.

"Okay, your wish is my command but you know I won't wait too long. I'll get terribly curious. Anyways how was school today?" She asks.

I tell her how school went but omitted all the parts that involved Isabella.

*Next day* 

I jumped down from bed at the loud scream outside my room.

"Isn't he going to school today? Why on earth is he still sleeping?" I heard dad's voice.

"Hush, calm down. Stop screaming, you might have woken him up now. Just go to work, he'll wake up and go to school. It's still 6:44am." I hear mom's voice.

I groaned and palmed my head. My head is banging. I had two shots of alcoholic drink yesterday, didn't know it was gonna have such effect of me this morning.

It was just two shots. How can it be so powerful? I didn't even get drunk. I grunted as I stood up and went into the bathroom to have a cold bath.

I got to school 8:24am.

I'm not too late but I know first lesson must have begin. I come down from my car with my backpack on and started heading to my first class for the day which is biology.

I heard it's a combined class we are all having, both first, second and third year biology students are staying in the same class today.

I got to the biology lab which I know that everyone offering biology will be in. I open the door of the class to indeed see crowd of student.

The two teachers teaching pauses to look at me.

"Do you care to explain why you are late Mr Mikealson?" Miss Mag turns to me in question.

"I was just late." I mumbled as I walked past the students and found my way to my friends at the back seat. I know they must have reserved a seat for me, they always reserve one everytime I'm late which is like everyday. 

I rarely come to school on time. 

The female students couldn't stop whispering, giggling and chattering nonsense while staring at me.

Oh yeah, the females...?! I'm hoping Isabella is not in this class.

Please I hope she is not here. I said I was going to avoid her, don't tell me she is here.

I went closer to Peter and whispers in his ears.

"Is she here? Is Isabella here?" I whispered.

He looks around and nods.

"She is, she is at the front sit." He answers.

I look over at the front sit to notice her there. She is always staying quiet and calm. She is quite my opposite, my exact opposite but I don't get why I find her so attractive.

So beautiful....!

It's the first for me. I've never seen a woman as beautiful as my mother. Strangely, she is filling the second spot as the most beautiful lady I've ever met.

The teachers ignore me and continue their lecture. Ah, they know better than to punish me or send me to the detention room to wait.

They know my mom will be hearing it and she will come shouting down the whole building of this big school.

No teacher here likes getting in trouble with my mom. No teacher. I'll say I'm almost invisible but I got rejected yesterday.

It's my first. My first rejection but I'm handling it pretty well, it's not too bad. I mean I thought I was going to die when she said that she can't be my girlfriend.

But I felt better after developing a plan to get her. That plan better work.
