Angel's POV:
When we arrived at our new home, Ace headed straight to the stairs, while I stood at the door, watching him leave.
Letting out a breath, I picked up my dress before taking steps into my new house.
The house was too big for only two people to live in, but I guess I could get used to it.
"Angel" Ace called out to me. I looked up to see him standing on a step, waiting for me.
Walking slowly, I made sure not to step on my dress, so it wouldn't get bad.
"Come on, I'm really tired." He said bringing his hand out for me to hold.
'I guess his not angry.' I thought, then placed my arms gently on his.
He smiled at me before walking away with me following his footsteps.
He opened the door and walked in. My mouth dropped at how beautiful and well-designed it looked.
"Do you like it?" I heard Ace ask quietly, while I nodded my head.
"You know, you can talk right, I told you I'm not going to give you rules, you're my little wife now." He said softly, his arms on my shoulders.
I let out a breath before looking up at his eyes. I could see the sincerity in them, making me feel bad for judging him.
"I'm just still trying to get used to everything," I whispered to him. He nodded his head before humming, then placed his lips on my forehead.
My eyes closed on their own before opening when I felt his forehead pressed against mine.
"I'm not the best, but I promise you, I will try all I can to make you happy." He said so gently like he was talking to a baby.
I could feel my eyes getting watery, no one had ever tried to be nice to me, but here he was, making promises to me.
"Okay," I whispered then wrapped my arms around his waist. I let out a breath at the comfortable feeling I was having around him.
I hope he follows his words and does not hurt me, because I really can't handle another pain.
"Come on, let's get your makeup off and get ready for bed, we have to go to my father's house for breakfast tomorrow," he said.
Nodding my head, I walked towards the closet to grab my nightwear, then walked back to my husband.
"Can you help me with the zip, please?" I asked as I stood at his front.
He hummed before helping me pull the zipper slowly.
I could feel my body turning hot when I felt his eyes on my back...He mumbled something to himself before stepping back.
"Done my little wife" he said.
Saying a quick 'thank you' I headed towards the bathroom. Closing the door, I couldn't help the giggles that left my lips.
"I hope things go well for us" I prayed softly before walking into the shower.
The water touches my skin, making me feel less tense about today.
After washing my body and brushing my teeth, I grabbed my towel before cleaning my body. Then I put on my night tops and shorts. I looked back at my body on the mirror before letting out a breath.
I hope Ace won't judge my body, because I'm not a thick girl. Walking out of the bathroom, I saw my husband on the bed, his phone in his hand.
He looked up when he heard the sound of the door closing.
Titling his head to the side, he gave me a big smile before opening his arms for me.
"Come here Bella," he said softly, making me blush.
Why do I have a handsome husband, no, handsome God? He is too real to be a human.
I walked towards him slowly, my eyes facing the ground and my hands behind my back.
"Don't be shy, hey," he said with a chuckle.
"Sorry," I whispered before sitting on the bed.
Ace groans making my head snap to him.
"Are you a dog?" I said with a little giggle.
Ace smirked at me before pulling my arms, making me land on top of him.
"Well, I'm your alpha now," he said with a smirk.
"So, I'm the Luna then?" I asked quietly our eyes still connected.
"Yeah," he whispered back then rubbed his nose with mine.
"Come on, let's go to sleep," Ace said before turning off the lights.
"Good night, my little wife," he said softly while I said a 'good night' back.
With that, I closed my eyes with a smile on my lips. I just hope every day will be like thhis.
----------------------------------------------------------
The next morning, I woke up to an empty bed, making me confused. For some reason it felt like a dream, I still couldn't believe I was married to a billionaire.
I have no idea if Ace has other businesses but I don't want to know about it. Rolling off the bed, I walked towards the bathroom to get a look at myself.
A grasp left my lips when I saw a red mark on my neck. Groaning, I rolled my eyes before walking towards the shower, 'is he a vampire or what?' I thought as I brushed my teeth.
When that was done, I carefully took off my clothes and walked towards the shower.
A sigh left my lips as the cold water ran down my skin.
"I hope, yesterday wasn't just an act," I said softly. For some reason, I couldn't fight the feeling that this marriage was going to have lots of problems.
Shaking my head, I grabbed the towel and wrapped it around my body.
I walked towards the door. I turned the handle slowly and took a step out, only to see my so-called husband walking around, he was wearing a suit and looking all fancy.
"Uhm good morning" I whispered, my head falling.
"Morning" he mumbled before walking towards a bag.
"I'll be off for the week," he said making my head snap towards him.
"Huh, but we just got married," I said quietly.
Ace turned his head towards me, a scold on his lips.
"So cause I'm married to you, I can't go on business meetings?" He asked with a chuckle.
Shaking my head, I looked back down, scared that he would yell or laugh at my face.
"Just be a good wife and stay home, it's not like you have any friends anyways," he said then made his way towards the door.
"Oh and Angel, I won't try anything stupid if I were you, I have eyes everywhere," was the last thing he said before banging the door on his way out.
I heard his footsteps getting distant, then the sound of the main door closing.I let out a breath before walking towards the bed.
My mind was clouded by what just happened.
If he didn't want to marry me, then why did he?
It makes me angry that I can't question my father, but one thing is I pray I never see him again.
Grabbing my hoodie and shorts, I made my way towards the kitchen. The quietness of the house follows me as I walk.
I should be happy that he didn't beat me up for asking questions.
I shouldn't be happy that he isn't near me to make me feel uncomfortable.
But for some reason, some stupid reason, I had hope that this marriage would be fine.
When my feet landed on the last stairs, I turned my head to the side before letting out another loud sigh.
I had no idea what to do today.
With that, I entered the kitchen and walked towards the refrigerator.
I let out a happy breath when I saw lots of food stored there.
One of my weaknesses is food, I love food so much.
Grabbing a pack of noodles, I walked towards the other side of the kitchen to grab the pot.
I made sure to cook enough for just myself.
Let's just hope today won't be boring.
Angel's POV:It's been a week since my husband traveled. Not gonna lie it was boring.I kept doing the same things over and over again. I wanted to go outside and see what it looked like around this place. But then I remembered that he told me not to leave the house. So all I do is clean, eat, watch movies, read, swim, and sleep.Over and over. But today is different because my husband has come back.I had no idea if I should be happy or sad, because the first thing he did when he arrived was walk straight to his room. The sound of the door banging echoed through the house. I let out a breath before walking into the kitchen, maybe if I make dinner for him, that will make him happy.I thought as I walked. My eyes moved around the kitchen, grabbing the pot and cooking tools."What are you doing?" A deep voice asked making me raise my head.My husband stood there, a frown on his lips."Uhm, I wanted to make a meal for you," I whispered looking down at the food."No, go get dressed, my fa
Angel’s POVWe arrived at the door. Ace had been holding my hand the entire time as he walked in front of me. He halted abruptly and pivoted to face me."I'm not being too hard on you, My Little Wife?" "What the hell?" I pondered in my mind. Did you not see that he was a piece?“No, I assure you!” Lying, I felt tears well up in my eyes and glanced down. "Well," he murmured. “Everyone is excited to sit with you, so let's get inside now. Just keep in mind what I said, though.”He bent down to plant a kiss on my forehead. I felt shivers down my spine from his warm lips. I straightened my dress, which had risen while I was moving. We made our way through the quiet hallway to the dining hall. His family has good genes, I have to admit, as well as excellent fashion sense. I felt too casual around them."Hi, Ace!" His dad gestured towards us with a wine glass. I mean, I was essentially standing there like a pole as everyone greeted him. At last, they recalled my presence. His father gav
Anna’s POVAfter that dramatic supper, my husband Josiah and I sat side by side in the car. I sat quietly while he drove us back home. My phone beeped. Reluctantly, I reached into my handbag in the back seat to retrieve it."No!" I yelled, startling him in the process. He asked what had happened, abruptly stopping the car. I quietly placed the phone on his face. Just one week after marrying his youngest daughter off to a man she doesn't love, my father ran away to my aunt's house in Buffalo this morning. He had the opportunity to reflect on his previous life decisions while he was there, and it appeared that there was no way out. So, he committed suicide and begged for Angel not to be informed. ''How could he stoop so low? What kind of guilt is he fighting to the grave when he doesn't even want his own daughter to attend his funeral? And can I keep this hidden from my own sister?" I thought out loud."You can, and you will!" Josiah said, confiscating my phone.—---------------------
Angel’s POVI was startled out of my light sleep by my phone beeping and vibrating. I reached over to grab it from the bedside. It was an unknown number, I raised an eyebrow to wonder who it might be. I opened the phone, read the text, and smiled—it was Ace's weird sister, asking to hang out. She seemed like a lovely girl, and she even supported me when my husband was being rude to me. The only thing that worried me was that I've never had friends, so I'm not sure I'm good with people. Plus, she doesn't look like the judgemental type, so I text her back to express my interest.I thought about how I was going to handle the day as I took a long shower.Even though I defied Ace and made history last night, I doubt I'll get another chance. In my heart, I want to show him that I'm a unique individual and that he should respect me, but I'm also afraid of what could happen. Apart from his short fuse, which I have no idea what can come out of, all I know about him is his name and age!I was
Angel’s POV(At the restaurant)“Thanks for asking me out, Sarah. It feels good to know someone from the family actually gives a damn about me,” I mumbled.“It's alright love, we have to choose between losing our minds and looking out for ourselves for as long as we're in that family.” Sarah chuckled as she said. The past two hours we’d been talking about our childhoods, books, films and art. She asked me to check my passport so we could visit Switzerland together in summer. I'm excited about it! Then I remembered Ace hasn't said anything about our honeymoon, but how could he if he doesn't even look at me?Just then his brother showed up. The one who was ogling at me last night at family dinner. Sarah sighed heavily and did a toast in the air like she did at dinner. I'm guessing she does it when she knows something is about to go down. “Hello ladies!” He mumbled. His voice hadn't lost its sinister touch to it. “Heyyyy brother!” Sarah responded sarcastically, stealing a quick glanc
Ace's POVAll I could hear were my footsteps as I tiptoed cautiously down the stairs into the basement. I held on to the handrail for dear life, careful not to slip and fall. Angel was preoccupied with her whacky reality shows in the living room.“Rest in peace, partner!” I muttered in my breath as I crossed out a portrait pinned on my drawing board. It was of a man that Marco and the team just assassinated. Him and a few others on my board were linked to my parents’ untimely demise, and I had sworn to take them out one after the other. Now that I’m done with him, there's only one man left standing; their boss. The man I’m planning to put in excruciating pain before I behead mercilessly; the man because of whom I was rendered an orphan; and the man because of whom I booked myself a spot in prison in the first place.“If only your family knew all your dirty little secrets, you monster,” I hissed with my teeth clenched, glaring at Jackie Fernando's photo at the top of the board. I fe
Ace's POVI shut the door on my brother's face, then pinned Angel’s back against the very same door. My brother was trying so hard to push the door open, but I had my other hand blocking his attempts.Angel’s tiny neck was in my grip. It felt quite satisfying because that's what I practiced my whole life. She’s lost her defiance; begging for her breath, her tear glands working overtime.“I will kill you, Angel. Don't try me. Just because I was soft on you the past week, doesn't mean you’ll have your way. Got that, little wife?” I roared with my teeth clenched. She tried to speak, but all that could be heard were her groans of pain.I continued, “If you and my brother are fucking, I swear I will have your blood on my hands. I’ve killed hundreds of people before, you’ll just be another one of them. You should never long to see me angry, ever?” Angel started shaking at the mention of me killing people. She struggled letting her sobs come out, I was still blocking her windpipe. She was o
Angel’s POV“Ah!” I let out a groan as ice cold water splashed all over me. I shielded my face with my hands crossed.“Get up!” A manly voice instructed from above. The sound of an empty bottle hitting the wooden table on the bedside could be heard. Pissed, I wiped my face. I opened my eyes slowly, and I saw Ace standing and staring down at me. His hands were in his pockets wearing an expressionless face.I heaved and forced myself up, leaning my back against the damp pillow. “It's 5 a.m., you're supposed to be up, and doing the wife duties.” He snapped, and turned to walk towards the door. He stopped short of going outside, and removed his hand from the pocket. He came out with the bottle lid between his fingers, and threw it across the room.“Clean it out, little wife!” He hissed and banged close the door behind him. I could hear the echoes of his footsteps as he tiptoed down the stairs. “5 the fuck A.M!” I stressed as I threw the blankets in the air away from me.One thing abo
Six Months Later Ace’s POV “Be careful!” Angel demanded in a moan. Her hands were wrapped around my shoulders traversing under my armpits as she breathed in hot air into my ear. Her legs formed a pointy fountain under the sheets running through my waist, wrapped tightly around my thighs, making my thrusting work closer and easier. “Relax, I won't hurt the baby.” I whispered a warm assurance into her ear while my fingers rubbed her head tenderly. After the holy work was done, I helped her get ready for our doctor’s appointment. Trust me when I say it wasn't the easiest work of all. She changed into ten different outfits, cried when clothes didn't fit and wailed about how ugly she felt. Every two minutes she asked me if I still found her sexy, or I would dump her for a skinnier girl who had no baby multiplying the fat in her body. I had to assure her that I just made steamy love to her. Not only that, but I held her and kissed her neck while she came. “You're sexier when
Angel’s POVFollowing a great morning glory with my husband, he invited me to sit with him at breakfast. Dr Warner or whoever her name was, didn't seem to have that much of a problem. Although, there was one insect hovering over Ace throughout. I didn't get her name, and frankly I didn't even care. My mind was on something else. Once breakfast was done, Ace and I sat in the car. “Angel,” he cleared his throat and adjusted his posture. “I’ve been meaning to call Jeremy.”I frowned. “What?! Why?” He shook his head lightly, and tutted. “I really don't know. But I feel like he could be in need of a second chance too.” He glared at me, my cheeks became heavy with a blush. “I’m learning from you.” He added, his eyes anticipating a response from me. I shrugged my shoulders, my eyes not knowing where to land. “Okay! I mean…go for it!” “Yeah!” He whispered, before awkward silence reigned between us. “Say it!” “I can see there is something you want to say.” I advised, a smile hiding be
Ace’s POV“Angel!” I whispered, my heart pounding. She burst into a loud cackle. “Oh My God! Your expression is killing me.” She clapped as she laughed at my face. “Hi babe!”I sighed heavily, my palm on my chest as though I was massaging my heart. “You scared me.” She arched her eyebrows. “Really? The George Brooks can get scared?” She scoffed, helping me up. “Are you sure you are okay? I can take you to the nearest hospital.”“Yeah! Remember I am staying at a clinic now.” I added, following her lead to the car. She buckled and we took off. “So tell me, since when do you run?” She posed, her arms stirring the steering wheel flawlessly. I watched in awe. “I wanted to ask you yesterday, since when do you drive?” She smiled. “You're not answering the question, George.” She added, her gaze avoiding mine. “Okay, fine. How do you think I built all these muscles? I'm very physically active on a normal day.” I clarified, my eyes not leaving her cheek. My mind and my heart were at wa
Ace’s POVThe new dawn set, and my alarm went off. I reached out my hand to turn it off, and when all was silent, I lay on my back, my hands spread away from my body. It was only when I opened my eyes that it clicked to me that I was not home. I blew raspberries at the discomfort it brought me to be here, but then remembered my Angel would be coming to see me today. The anticipation was killing me. Quickly, I reached for my phone and sent her a sweet text, but she wasn't online. I waited for a little while hoping to get a blue tick, but in vain. Disappointed, I dragged myself out of bed and tiptoed to the bathroom, holding onto walls for dear life. “It's not even 7am yet, silly. She must be snoring.” I convinced my reflection in the mirror. After brushing my teeth and washing my face, I headed back and made my bed. Then, I changed into a grey workout outfit, grabbed a water bottle and headphones, and walked towards the door. Upon opening my door, I was startled by a female figure
Ace’s POV I felt a hand touch my shoulder, and I was startled. My neck tilted around and my face came face to face with Miranda. She sucked her lips, creating a friendly expression, as she held out her tiny hands, doing a little wave at me. I could see the top of her head, examining every little detail of her messy bun. I forced a smile. “Hey, Miranda.” I spoke between my teeth. “Yeah, George.” She responded and went silent, her eyes glued to the corridor floor we were standing on. Bypassers stole sneaky glances at us one after the other, but I turned a blind eye. “Can I help you, Miranda?” I pondered, her silence getting to me. She sighed. “I was wondering if we could hang out?” “For the assignment? It wants us to get acquainted with one another.” She elucidated following my silent response to her wondering. “Oh, yeah sure. See you tomorrow, or whenever you want to hang out.” “I have a scheduled call with my wife, sorry I'm running after time.” I grumbled and turned my ba
Ace’s POV I sat there, in a room full of drug addicts and people who twirled their fingers in anxiety. All their focus was on me. I guess I was more famous than I thought. For some fucking reason I kept thinking I was better than them. But a stubborn and straight-forward voice inside my head told me I was no different, why else would I be here? At least the chair was comfy. It was a very cushiony sofa modified into the shape of a palm, and I could sit comfortably on my back. A middle aged woman walked in, holding her hair into a neat, tight bun.“Hello guys!” She mumbled in a friendly tone. Voices groaned to greet her back, as she took a seat facing us. “I am Dr. Warner, and I'm here to help you all. Will you help me help you?” She wondered, forcing a smile. Everyone else nodded or groaned or forced a smile except for me. I just glared at the ceiling, rubbing my head and listening to everyone try to get into her good books. “Right? What's your name?” She asked me, but I wasn't p
Ace’s POVI closed the door slowly behind me, and leaned my back against it. My luggage stood steady at my feet, as my eyes studied the room. White walls, white ceiling, the furniture, and even the bedding; everything was white. And why not? This was a trick I learned of back in high school, that white keeps the mind soothed. A heavy sigh left my lips, having absorbed the typicality of my new home. Had it been for me, I would have never even looked up a depression support clinic. But Angel was involved, she had insisted, and so I followed. I pushed my suitcase towards the bed and picked up it's weight onto the bed. A borborygmi-like sound followed as I undid the zip to start unpacking, as per one of the instructions I received at the reception. With all my clothes hung and folded properly in the wardrobe, I drew the curtains, letting some light into the room. My window looked over some of the buildings in the premises. In fact, the reflections of the corrugated roofing would be bl
Angel’s POVAce seemed torn, caught between the darkness that enveloped him and my offer. His voice cracked as he spoke, "But what if I never get better? What if I'm stuck like this forever?"I drew a deep breath, my voice filled with determination. "Ace, I won't pretend to have all the answers, but what I do know is that there are professionals who specialize in helping people like you navigate through this darkness. They have the tools, the knowledge, and the experience to guide you towards a path of healing. We have to believe that there is hope, that there is a chance for you to find peace and happiness once again." I mumbled, rubbing circles on his back.Ace's eyes flickered with a mixture of doubt and longing. He seemed to be contemplating my words, grappling with his own self-worth and the possibility of a better tomorrow. "Please, Ace, trust me when I say that you're not alone in this.” I heaved. “Angel, I…” He attempted, but I interrupted him.“Uh uh!” An expression left m
Sarah’s POVI lounged on the beach, soaking up the sun and admiring the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean. It was a much-needed break from my usual routine, helping me cope well with my recent miscarriage. I harboured hate for my brother at this point. Had it not been for him, I would have probably still been pregnant. Suddenly, my phone rang. I sighed, briefly tempted to ignore it. Garry had warned me not to take any calls so I could give this outing my full attention, but ultimately, I decided to answer. It was my sister-in-law."Hey, Angel," I said. "What's up?""It's Jeremy," Angel said, her voice lower than usual. "He wants to exhume Ace's parents' bodies."I sat up, suddenly alert. "What? Why?""I don't know," Angel admitted. "He and Ace are at loggerheads." She concluded with a sigh.I sighed. “And they both aren't normal people. Why am I not surprised?”She chuckled from the other end of the line. “I can't imagine how you must've dealt with all that your entire life.”
