Ringo and Michael met again in Amanda Lucifer's office two days later. It wasn't a pleasant meeting. Michael met Ringo outside the office and asked if the omega was feeling better but Ringo merely glared daggers his way before ignoring his concern and entering the principal's office.
The bite mark on Ringo's neck made Michael feel guilty about what he did. Even if Ringo was a rose blood carrier, he shouldn't have lost all control the way he did back then. The ancient vampire couldn't understand why it happened but he knew it wouldn't be correct to let a marked omega go about the academy with so many other alphas eyeing on Ringo. The omega was famous for being one of the few humans and for being an easy target.
If it wasn't for Shiro and Sei's help to ward off the pests, Michael didn't doubt that the boy would have gotten himself into trouble very quickly.
Amanda Lucifer was a terrifying woman to be in the presence of and Ringo lost his earlier temper outside the room. Her sharp stare penetrated through his soul and Ringo felt as if she was reading his mind just by locking gazes. Yet, the omega couldn't pull away and shuddered at the chill entering his heart.
Michael smelled fear radiating from Ringo and unconsciously released some of his killing intent directed to the principal. Asahina flinched when the room's atmosphere turned increasingly hostile with the archmage and ancient vampire fighting a silent war.
"Enough," Amanda sighed and recalled her hostility. Michael dropped his stance too and Asahina sighed in relief.
"The reason why I summoned both of you is because of the accident. You probably should have anticipated it but here is the registration form. Since you've marked as mates, I won't pursue the matter due to the nature of how it happened. However, rules are rules. To avoid people thinking that it is alright, you will both have to sign the registration form."
Michael didn't have a problem with it but Ringo did. As the vampire reached out for a feather pen to sign his name, the exorcist slapped his hand away so hard that the alpha dropped the pen. Amanda Lucifer didn't flinch. She only gave Ringo a levelled gaze, daring him to create trouble in her presence.
As expected, the omega flinched but he didn't back down even if his hands shook. The mark on his neck was humiliating enough. All throughout yesterday, people have been staring at him oddly. Shiro looked at him with pity and flipped off everyone else who tried to make fun of him in the omega class. Although his roommate meant well, it only made the exorcist feel worse. The humiliation of being watched with pitiful eyes got on Ringo's nerves so badly. As the sole heir to his family of exorcists, Ringo was raised to be strong even though he was an omega. To be treated like something fragile pissed him off.
"I refuse to sign it," he announced firmly even though his voice shook. Nobody said anything but Michael felt a strange ache when he heard it. Mentally, he knew that Ringo wasn't wrong to reject their bonding but for some reason, it made him feel incredibly hurt. Was this the power of a rose blood carrier? He didn't know because he never had one before.
"The mating mark is only temporary, the registration certificate is permanent. I don't accept this!"
Amanda didn't respond to the complaint. Instead, she looked at the exorcist very calmly. "Are you finished? If you have time to be yelling at me, you should take a good look at the document before flapping your lips away. Don't forget, you don't have a right to refuse. I'm in charge here and these are my rules. If you're not happy, you can get out of the academy and I wish you good luck surviving the time vortex."
Michael looked at Ringo and Amanda before placing his hand on Ringo's shoulder out of worry. The little exorcist didn't seem like a calm person and Michael bet he was calculating the chances of being able to assassinate the grand archmage in his mind. Eventually, Ringo settled down much to Michael's relief and snatched the contract to read the terms. The vampire finally bent down to pick up the pen when he knew his temporary mate wasn't going to act rashly.
Ringo re-read the terms again just to confirm that he wasn't missing out on anything. The principal included some terms that were different from a regular registration form. "I- This... Is this for real?" Ringo asked.
Asahina smiled. "Ms Lucifer made special changes to the contract. If there are points you do not agree with, you can bring it up for discussion. It is the reason why we've invited both of you to the principal's office. Mutual agreement is important. Also, we understand both your difficulties."
Michael peeked over Ringo's shoulder to read the conditions. "Principal! This is... this term shouldn't be included for both our safety!"
Ringo looked at the term Michael was pointing at and silently agreed. He didn't want to be stuck as Michael's food source when he had been made a temporary mate with the bite. Besides, only another alpha can undo the marking of a temporary mate. How was Ringo going to seduce and convince other alphas to remove Michael's mark? After all, the vampire was considered one of the more prestigious alphas available in the academy.
Amanda Lucifer sighed. "Look. If you've been eating properly, I wouldn't say anything. Don't think I do not know how sickly you've been ever since you came in. I do apologise that I didn't consider bringing in humans for you to feed from. If I knew that you didn't do well with blood packs, I would have made other arrangements and I would have told your family to prepare a coffin with dirt from your hometown. I closed an eye to the night hunting because you seemed to be coping but I've also been receiving complaints from people claiming that their pets were attacked."
The principal glanced over to the exorcist and continued. "Ringo was there that night to catch the culprit who had been attacking his animal shikigamis. The fact that you look a lot better now after drinking his blood means that this is the only method that works so far. Even though you accidentally marked him."
Asahina looked over to Ringo who didn't look pleased. "And I don't have a say in this?"
Amanda Lucifer smirked. "Of course not. Michael is an alpha and an important ancient vampire. You might be the son of a human exorcist clan but your clan is going to become extinct soon, you're all losing your powers. The god that you serve has been dead for a long time. It doesn't really concern me if you live or die but Michael's well being is something I need to look into. Of course, I'm not completely unreasonable. I will matchmaker you with a strong spirit alpha. That was your wish, isn't it?"
Ringo immediately pointed to the contract. "Add that term in and I'll sign."
Amanda nodded at Asahina who took the document back for amendment. While the three of them were left in the principal's office, Michael couldn't help but apologise to both Amanda and Ringo for causing trouble.
Ringo grinned and patted the platinum-blond vampire prince. "No worries, it all turned out well in the end. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be able to land myself a spirit alpha so easily."
Amanda watched them interact without a word. Behind her clasped hands, she smirked. An interesting show was about to unfold.
"Hey," Michael called out to Ringo. "Are you free tonight?"Shiro blinked and excused himself. Lately, it had become a common sight to see Sei's roommate approach his roommate. Although the snow fox demon didn't know what was going on, he heard the rumours how they were called to the principal's office. It wasn't hard to guess what kind of relationship they had now ever since Ringo was marked.Ringo glared at Michael. "Not here," he whispered and led the vampire away. The alpha shouldn't be so near an omega's classroom, he was always attracting too much attention and Ringo hated it."How thirsty are you?" Ringo asked. The last cut on his wrist hasn't healed yet. Even Iason refused to overhead the slash marks because it would do Ringo more harm to hold so much magic in his body over the long run. He was an exorcist and spiritual power was his main source of power. Mixing magic into it will cause the energy to grow chaotic and useless in an exorcism.Michae
Ringo was thrilled. Amanda Lucifer kept her word and convinced the strongest spirit alpha in the Academy to meet up with him. Of course, it wouldn't be easy to convince the alpha to form a pair with him but all Ringo needed, was a chance.Shen Long was the most notorious alpha that even most omegas feared. Alphas left the delinquent alone because he was merciless and would beat anyone into an inch of their lives if he didn't have a good day. He treated omegas like dirt and there were even rumours about how the merciless dragon god spirit could only do one night stands simply because no omegas were strong enough to match him. Many omegas looked as if they were sucked out of their life after sleeping with him for one night and Ringo mentally readied himself. In order to capture this spirit, he was willing to do anything. So far, Shen Long had only been requesting for Ringo to put up with some of his 'kinks'. The exorcist didn't know how much more twisted the alpha could
He woke up to a white ceiling and the smell of disinfectants. Having been here enough times, Ringo didn't need to know where he was. He only needed to know that he was still alive. Everything hurt and he felt strange. The world was strangely quiet and his senses were extremely clear. He could hear Iason shuffling over to check on him."Oh, you're awake. How are you feeling?"Ringo didn't know why, but his first answer was thirsty."That's to be expected," the doctor said and passed him a blood bag instead of a cup of water. Ringo was puzzled but his thirst flared when he smelled it. Disregarding the common sense, he drank greedily until the blood pack was completely empty."Would you like another?"Ringo wiped his mouth and shook his head, feeling slight pain from the side of his neck. "No thanks. What happened? I thought I died."Iason sighed. "You did. You're alive but not exactly alive. You can't hear your heartbeat now, can you? T
Michael thought that Sei would return with the blood packs. The black snake demon replied that he would so Michael went back to a nap. However, the vampire was woken up by his coffin shaking. He didn't know what was going on but it definitely wasn't an earthquake. He tried to get out of the coffin but somebody had locked the lid.Panicked, Michael slammed at the sides of the coffin and shouted at the people moving him to let him out. Around him, he heard Sei telling the strangers to collect his other belongings. Michael was confused because he didn't sense any ill-intentions or threats. Just what exactly was his roommate up to?"Sei! What the heck is going on?"The black snake demon grinned. "You're getting evicted. The dorm manager said that you've been assigned to a different dormitory so just shut up and wait till you get there. It's easier to carry you in that coffin than forcing you to walk so just go back to sleep or something. I placed the blood packs ins
"There he is!" a rat omega squealed. "Isn't he dreamy with his long flowing turquoise hair and eyes?"His friend the colourful parrot omega glanced at the beautiful siren prince and pulled the other omega away, lowering his voice. "Have you not heard? He's the defective alpha."Puzzled, the rat omega asked for more details. In this academy, weren't only the prestigious or talented selected for enrolment? How could there be a defective alpha? He simply couldn't believe that someone so stunning would be flawed."What are you thinking?" the parrot hissed at his friend. "Not that kind of defect. Don't you know who he is? He is Syris, the fifth Siren prince of Atlantis!"The fifth prince of Atlantis was famous not for his beauty or title. If anything, he was one of the only alphas who didn't have any admirers. Rumours said that Syris attended the Academy only because he lost the favour of his family. It wasn't an honour for Syris to attend the Academy, in fact
"Where were you?" Syris' loyal bodyguard and friend asked. "Classes are almost over."The siren prince smiled at his shark merman friend. "Visiting Zinnia," he said.Bruce was surprised. "Did you break something again? Who was it? I'll beat them up for you!""No, nothing of that sort!" Syris hurried to stop his hot-headed friend. After putting up with so much bullying from home and during the first month at the Academy, Bruce was very protective of him even though they were both alphas. Syris often felt inferior to his warrior friend even though he was of noble birth. Sometimes, he envied the rash merman for being able to stand for what he believed in.To prevent the shark merman from going berserk on the wrong people, Syris quickly explained about the elf with large ears he tried to help earlier. "He ran away so quickly that I couldn't return his glasses. However, I didn't feel good about returning his glasses after they got damaged by the other omegas b
Floopy was enjoying the silence in the greenhouse and thinking of a new song. Amanda had requested for a new musical to be performed because she was bored. It had been a while since the last musical and the archmage was dying for new entertainment in this boring time crack. Asahina was slightly apologetic when she came looking for him to pass on Amanda's new request. Truthfully, Floopy didn't mind. He would not have minded writing songs every day if the principal wanted it. Composing music was his greatest joy and it would be great if he could stay in the Academy forever and not just five years. Asahina left Floopy the special access card to the forbidden forest that only a few special students were allowed to enter. For Floopy, it was his favourite hideout and also the place that he could forget about everything for a while. The forest had always been a sacred place for faes and being kicked out of his home meant that Floopy was currently homeless. Without a forest
It was dark and almost everyone was asleep in the academy. Floopy was in a good mood and his blind roommate could tell by the humming of an unfamiliar song."Is that for the musical?" Klick Batley asked but Floopy didn't reply. The panotti was too absorbed in his fantasy of having the first good day since coming to the Academy."Earth to Floopy!" the bat threw a well-aimed eraser at the dreamy musician's head and that effectively made him snap out of the trance."Huh?"Not impressed, the bat demon crawled over to Floopy's bed and hugged his friend tightly. "Tell me! What's made you so happy today? Did someone confess to you?"Floopy smiled and shook his head. "Nothing like that. I just met someone nice."Interested, Klick demanded for details. For someone to not bully the panotti and was even nice to him? That's rather rare and a cause for celebration! Then again, the bat was worried. What if this person was simply nice to Floopy because the
When Wilson said that the additional terms would be added to the annexe, Carlos and Rusty didn’t think they would do it in the principal’s office. Wilson wasn’t the one in a hurry to have the papers signed, Amanda was, and all three students watched as Asahina smacked the archmage with her clipboard for hindering her progress. The odd relationship between the principal and secretary made Rusty pause. However, he didn’t think too much. After all, it was only possible for him to attend this school after receiving the principal’s scholarship. His parents applied it for him secretly when they heard about it. Rusty was always smarter than anyone else in his family, and it was a shame that they were too poor to afford him any education. With the golden opportunity in front of them, Rusty could not refuse. He thought that coming here was a good way to make money while studying, but he turned out to catch a shark instead of a fish.“It&rsquo
It was slightly tricky to find a decent venue for the two alphas and one omega to meet up and discuss the terms of their three-way relationship. Eventually, they managed to discuss with Floopy and Prince Syris to borrow the music room. Prince Syris wished them luck and left the keys with Wilson.“Don’t forget to return them and no nasty stuff. Floopy and I will be using it to rehearse tonight.”“I won’t,” Wilson promised and took the keys. Carlos and Rusty stood side by side awkwardly behind Wilson, and the werewolf ushered them in.The music room was cosy, but there weren’t many places to sit around. Wilson dragged the piano chair over, a drum stool and a recording stool before borrowing the music stand as a table to go through the contract terms. Carlos took a look at the chairs and decided that it might be better for Rusty to sit on the recording stool as it was the tallest. He took the drummer stool, and Wilson made
“No problems,” Dr Iason confirmed.Rusty was healthy and strong enough to bear pups for Wilson. Even if he was a rabbit beastman, his genetics were closer to a hare than a rabbit. It would explain his independent nature and less social personality. Wilson didn’t want to investigate too deeply why there would be a hare in a rabbit family. All that meant for him was that Rusty would be able to crossbreed with them effectively. The wolf pups and cheetah cubs will not suffer from an active herbivore gene. They might be omnivores, but that was it. The others would be carnivores.Rusty didn’t speak much and thanked the doctor as Wilson escorted him out.“Do you need more time?” he asked, but the hare werebeast shook his head. Even after finding out that there was something strange about his bloodline, Rusty remained calm. His poker face rivalled Wilson, and the werewolf knew that he wanted Rusty to be part of his and Carlos’ c
As expected, Carlos did not wake up in a rosy mood when he found out how Wilson seized the opportunity to snuggle in their sleep. That was far too intimate, and while the werecat didn’t hate it, he wasn’t used to this kind of closeness.Wilson woke up alone and late for lessons because a grumpy werecat turned it off. The note stuck onto his desk containing nothing but a childish drawing of a cat sticking its tongue out naughtily and pulling at an eye made the stoic werewolf laugh. Carlos had some cute sides to him, and Wilson loved them very much.Seeing that he was already late, there was no harm in taking his time. There was still about forty minutes before his next lesson. He could afford to miss the first class and catch the second one.As he folded his blanket, Wilson paused. The omega classes started later than the alpha classes. Seeing that he was already late, shouldn’t he make use of this opportunity to catch hold of a particular busy
Finding an omega partner who could satisfy his needs was proving more difficult than Carlos initially thought. After that confrontation and agreement, Carlos gave Wilson a list of names for his usual fuck buddies. The werewolf didn’t comment about the number of names on that list. Carlos was also slightly embarrassed to count them as they were well into the double digits.“Just so you know, I don’t sleep with everyone very often,” he said, and Wilson nodded. He didn’t ask further about the details of Carlos’ complicated relationship with these omegas. However, he asked something the werecat didn’t see coming.“Is Rusty not one of your bed partners?”Carlos blinked. That rabbit omega boy who was said to charge exorbitant fees for his services?“He and I don’t talk. Besides, there’s always that kind of air around him, you know? One that makes him slightly unapproachable. He looks at me
The morning after they slept together, Carlos woke up first. Last night was definitely something he couldn’t tell anyone about. An alpha bottoming for another alpha? It was probably unheard of. It didn’t matter how good it felt or how perfect Wilson was. Carlos had his pride.Sure, he might be able to secure a good future if he accepted Wilson’s offer. His sister wouldn’t have to suffer at the hands of the crafty families. He didn’t have to take over the Chavez House and could live the easy life he wanted to. However, the cheetah didn’t want to admit defeat so easily. Accepting Wilson’s help felt like a terrible trade. Ever since he became the Chavez heir, Carlos made himself a promise. He would never betray his feelings and beliefs for anyone’s sake. Wilson was trying to make him bend his beliefs, and he felt torn.“Let’s not think too much,” he reasoned and got up.Wilson was still s
Today, Wilson and Carlos attended class as usual. The werecat didn’t pay much attention to lessons, and Wilson couldn’t concentrate on his work either. They were both too preoccupied thinking about what would happen later. When lessons finally ended for the day, Wilson and Carlos met in the hallway without a word. Some curious people wondered why the feral werecat wasn’t running away and why the lone wolf was very accommodating today as they walked to the cafeteria wordlessly. Their shoulders were brushing, and it became the gossip of many who wondered how they grew so close.“Maybe they got closer by fighting,” someone reasoned, but others thought that there was more than met the eye. After all, the way they stood so close that their shoulders brushed against each other was a sign of intimacy. They ate together, did their assignments together and spent the rest of the time in each other’s company until it was time for bed.
The following day, Wilson called in sick for Carlos as well. Compared to yesterday, the high faded and left only a stinging mess all over his skin. Every time Carlos shifted his position, it hurt.Wilson was expecting this. The pain would subside in a day or two after the scene if proper aftercare treatment was carried out. In fact, the lone wolf didn’t make any plans for scenes today. All he wanted was to take care of Carlos. Right from the time Carlos woke up, Wilson hovered over him constantly, fussing over just about everything from his minor muscle aches to the tender skin.Carlos didn’t know why he was given VIP treatment today. Not only did he not need to attend class, but Wilson was also pampering him to a point where he was going to rot. From the very moment he opened his eyes, Wilson already took care of his needs. He helped Carlos shower without any funny business, took care of cleaning the room while Carlos ate the breakfast he brought up, appli
“The founder of the necromancer circle started out as a druid,” Wilson narrated, and Carlos swallowed hard. Wasn’t he sitting a little too close? Also, what was this technique of reading into his ears?!“... answer the question. Are druids born as elementalists with a good and evil nature, or are they born neutral and shaped by their circumstances from the example above?”Carlos stalled. “Uh… good?”Wilson frowned. “That’s going to cost you. You weren’t listening when I explained.”Carlos bristled. “How is that my fault?! You were basically breathing into my ear and had me seated in your lap to study! How does this look like studying to you? I don’t see my teachers doing this in class.”Wilson raised an eye and spanked the mouthy werecat. “Is this the attitude you take to your teachers?” he asked. “Besides, special kids need special at
