Ava stared at Ace for a while before realizing the meaning of what he had just said.

After speaking, Ace turned to leave, however, Ava looked around for whatever weapon she could find but the only thing that caught her attention was the small aquarium beside the bed with an orange-colored fish inside it.

Without thinking twice, she got off the bed and lifted the aquarium. Ace heard her coming and turned to see what she was up to but before he could react, she struck the aquarium on one side of his head, causing the glass to break, the water to pour out and the little fish to struggle for life on the floor.

Ace held his head as he staggered and his vision became blurry, meanwhile, Ava quickly wrapped the quilt around her body. It was quite heavy but she was convinced that once she got out to the road and asked for help, someone would come to her aid.

She pushed the staggering Ace towards the bed and made a run for the door. However, when she tried to open it, she realized that it was locked. She applied more pressure on the handle in a bid to get the door open but nothing worked.

She looked back at the bed and noticed that Ace was lying on it as he seemed unconscious. She tried to recall how to pick a lock as she had seen several videos about it before but she felt so much apprehension at what would happen if Ace caught her that she was not able to remember how exactly the locks in the videos she watched were picked.

She suddenly realized that Ace must have the key to this door and it was most likely in his pocket. She turned to run towards him and get the keys but noticed he was standing in front of her with a smile on his face.

She earlier thought that she had injured him but there was no blood on his head and the mischievous smile on his face was proof that he had pretended to fall on the bed. He probably had a good laugh while faking unconsciousness as he knew that she would never make it out of the room.

She gasped in fear as she saw him and thought that he was going to hit her. She decided that she would rather fight than give up so easily. She pushed him with all her might as she hoped he would stagger backward and she would get the chance to jump on him and take out the keys from his pocket.

However, Ace did not budge despite all the effort Ava put in, rather, one of his hands went to his back and when he brought it forward, he was holding a gun.

Ava screamed and raised her hands, her body began to shake as she thought he was going to kill her.

"Shut the fuck up," Ace said as he put the gun in Ava's mouth. She was breathing very fast and her mouth remained open because of the gun. She regretted ever attacking him in the first place.

She didn't know he had a gun or that he would try to kill her since he had kept smiling and barely reacted to everything she did to him.

She closed her eyes and thought about her boyfriend, Damon whom she loved more than anything else. She wanted his face to be the last thing she saw before she died.

She heard Ace cock his gun and tears rolled down her cheeks at how her life was ending when she had not even begun to live it.

Just when she had given up, Ava heard Ace's voice say, "my feisty Ava, why do you make me do things like this? I already told you that you are my girl so why are you trying to die at my hands?

I don't give people second chances but, I will do it for your sake because I've created a space for you in my heart. It would be sad if I lost you because I still want you around for a very long time. If it were to be someone else, I would have already put a bullet through their mouth but you, Ava, you are special and today is your lucky day."

Ace tucked the gun back into the back of his pants as he said, "open your eyes because today, you get to live."

He looked at the goldfish on the floor which was now dead and said, "I won't kill you but you can't go unpunished. You made an attempt on my life and killed my lovely fish so you deserve to be punished and I know just the right punishment."

Ava opened her eyes and put her hands down but she was still crying and her body was still shivering because she was badly shaken up. Ace took out the keys from his pocket and opened the door.

Ava stared at him, as she had no idea what he wanted to do but he said, "the room is all messed up so I can't stay here. Let's move to another room, ladies first, and remember, there'll be no more chances. Do you understand?"

Ava nodded her head and slowly walked out of the door with the quilt still wrapped around her body while Ace followed behind her.

She was so afraid to even breathe too loudly as she didn't know if she could get killed for it. Ace pointed at a room and she slowly walked toward it while still crying.

She stood in front of the door and waited for Ace to unlock it. Just at that moment, a huge gangster came out of nowhere and bowed before Ace, "Scorpion, Kaji is on the line and needs to speak with you."

"I am busy right now," Ace replied. "Help him with whatever he needs and I'll talk to him later."

The gangster bowed again before walking away while Ava turned and stared at Ace in shock as she struggled to speak, "a..ar...are...you....b...Black Scorpion?"

Ace smiled as he stared at her, "indeed I am. The one and only infamous Black Scorpion."
