I took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves. I couldn't let Meredith see how uneasy she was making me feel. I had to keep my guard up and be on my best behavior.

The servants began to bring out the first course, a delicious looking soup. As we ate, Prince Amareux began to make small talk, asking us about our home and family.
