About half an hour later, Ivy stood in front of a big mirror, gazing at her reflection. She slowly touched the scars on her neck and shoulders, and her heart clenched in pain. The corners of her lips dropped into a deep frown as memories of how he had beaten her up flooded her mind.

Why was she just realizing that she had spent her best days with someone who didn't care about her? Her eyes, once bright and full of life before she got with Leon, now looked dull and sunken.
