Fred was done with the operation and we were all waiting for him to wake up. It was 3am in the morning and we were all there.

Monica threatened me so many times to leave Fred but I just couldn't go, I had to make sure he was okay. I'm partially the cause of this whole disaster.

Luckily, Fred's eyelids slowly fluttered open, he was struggling to keep them open, causing the three of us to stir our movements, our eyes widening in anticipation.

He moved his fingers slightly and Monica quickly grasped his hands.

“Son, you are awake?” She asked in a pale voice, clutching his hands tightly.

The machine was beeping nonstop and his hands wrapped into a bandage.

I heaved a sigh of relief after seeing that he kept his eyes open, so did Kate.

“Son ….. how do you feel?” Monica questioned in a shaky voice, she had been crying for the longest.

“Mom……” Fred responded in a weak voice.
