Betrayal

The door creaked open and a maid who I did not know came in.

"What is it?"I asked without waiting for her to say her greetings, seriously,I don't like the rules in the castle.i don't like the life of a princess,I prefer to live a quiet life filled with adventures and live life to the fullest.

"Her royal highness, Princess Margaretta seeks your presence in her room"she replied.

I wonder why Margaretta is looking for me,she is different from my other sisters,she prefers staying alone and keeping to herself.one would not know what was going on in her head.

I followed the maid and went to Margaretta's room.she was sitting on a chair doing embroidery when I came in.

"You are here"she said to me.

"Actually I wanted you to help me out with something"She said to me.

"And what might that be"I said to her.

"You are good in painting,I want you to help me out with my assignment"she said handing over a sheet to me.

"This is wrong,you know,am not supposed to doing your assignment,it's part of your duty"I said to her.

"I know,I had a lot of things to do and I am terrible in drawing,please help me out this time around, please"she said to me.

"Okay I will"I replied and she smiled at me.

"Please give this to Amelia on your way out"she said to me handing me over another sheet,I sighed before collecting it. 

"I will get going then"I announced before leaving.

I went straight to Amelia's room but she wasn't around.I decided to go back to my room.I didn't want to give it to my maid to give her when she comes back. It might be important to consider the fact that Margaretta gave it to me to give to her instead of her maid.

I took a book and started reading to pass time,I dozed off to sleep while reading.

A FEW HOURS LATER.

I woke up and got up from my bed sluggishly,I looked through my window,the evening sun cast long shadows on the ground,the slanting rays of the setting sun gave a warm orange tinge to the sky.i yawned and stretched my body,I really slept for long.

"Mara"I called aloud and the door creaked open and Mara came in.

"Yes your highness"

"Told you to call me by my name when we are alone, how many times will I keep repeating this?"I said to her walking to the mirror.

"I am sorry you're high….I mean Nika"she replied smiling,I couldn't help but smile too.

"I really slept for long,you didn't bother to wake me up"I said to her staring at my reflection in the mirror.some strands of my hair were already falling out.after dressing up for the ceremony,I didn't see Raphael again.i felt heaviness in my heart but I did well to mask my feelings.

"I really thought you needed to rest,you have been thinking all day about the possibilities of holding the ceremony or not,"Mara replied, walking towards me to help me pack my hair.

"My parents are saying nothing about it,"I said to her.

"Stop thinking so much, maybe something will come up,the ceremony will still hold,"she replied.

"I need to talk to my parents to know what's going on"I said to her and she nodded.I had made up my mind.

"Okay"Mara replied.

I headed to the door when I remembered that Margaretta had given something to give Amelia.i went back and took it from where I had kept it before,I decided to give it to her on my way to meet my parents.

I reached Amelia's room,her maids were standing outside the door.the greeted me.

"Announce my presence"I said to them.

I saw the look of uneasiness in their faces,they didn't know what to say but the head maid by name Linda who was close to Amelia decided to speak.

I really don't like her,she felt that she was above everyone because she is close to Amelia.she was very rude but I promise her that I won't spare her when she disrespect me.

"Her royal Highness,Princess Amelia, the first princess of Cavern Kingdom, doesn't want to see anyone,"she said to me.

"I want to see her"I remained in my stand.

"No,I am afraid you cannot,this is my princess's order, ''she said to me without batting an eye.

This maid seemed to be tasting my patience. Who does she think she is?I have no time to banter words with people like her.

"What is she doing that she doesn't want to see anyone,I will just give her what Margaretta wanted to give to her"I said to her.

"I follow my princess's order,you can give it to me instead,I will give it to her,for now,she doesn't want to see anyone and it's none of your business what she is doing"she said to me looking down at me.

"You can't talk to the princess in that way, have some respect"Mara said charging forward towards her but I stopped Mara.i found it unnecessary to defend me because of this maid.

I moved forward to her standing in front of her,I stared into her eyes and she stared back into me eyes.

I focused my strength on my hand and I slapped hard on her cheeks making her face turn red immediately.

I could see her eyes changing to red immediately. Does she want to fight me?I know I'm not a vampire but I can defeat a vampire like her immediately.

"The nerves of you to look me in the eye"I said to her,I could see her clenching her fists before bowing her head.She won't dare try to challenge me.

"You can be the head maid of the first princess but you shouldn't forget that I am a princess too, what happened today shouldn't repeat itself again"

"Am I understood?"I asked with authority.

"Yes, your royal highness,"she replied, bowing her head.

"Now, open the door for me"I ordered and she opened the door to Amelia's room.

"Wait outside,"I said to my two maids.

I walked in with my head held high,I might not be a vampire but no one has the right to disrespect me.

It really bothered me that I was different from people in my kingdom but that is the reason why I trained myself all these years.

Amelia's room was very large unlike mine,that's the privilege of being the first princess.she was not in the living room area,there was another door situated at the end.that was her bedroom.

As I approached the door,I could hear moans.I became worried immediately,I knew she was harsh to me but it doesn't change the fact that she is still my sister.

I wonder what was happening,she might be sick and dying inside and those stupid maids are outside.

I knocked on the door but nobody responded,I decided to go in immediately.i opened the door and walked in.

My jaw dropped to the ground on the sight that I beholden.the first princess who Everyone looked up to was naked on the bed with a naked man on top of her.

They jumped up trying to cover themselves as soon as they noticed my presence.

I didn't want to see the scene but my eyes couldn't help but go to the man.i could feel my heart racing when I saw who it was,my palm was sweating.i felt like my world was coming to an end.i tried to speak but it was hard,I felt like my breath was choking me.

"Rap…hael"I muttered out.
