* * "You said it was going to be a company meeting stuff,what are we doing on a boat?', I said as we pulled up in front of a shore. Luther got out of the car. "Ever been on a boat cruise before?", he asked stretching his hands out for me to take. "Uhm.. not really". "Well there's a first time for everything", he said and pulled me out of the car. There were already people standing in front of the boat waiting to receive us. this place was packed with security, damn, it's so tight. "Don Danger", they greeted and bowed. Don Danger, I really need to ask him about that name. They led us into the boat. When I say boat, I don't mean those type you use to paddle or something, I mean a yacht, like an actual big one. His jaw dropped, "Fiancee??? oh my gosh, wait how come Laura hasn't pulled a bullet to her skull?", he asked "She wouldn't dare", Luther said. "She actually would", Owen said laughing. "Father wouldn't let me breath, plus she's with a child", Luther said grabbing a glass of wine from a tray. "He's still insisting on the marriage thing huh?", he asked. "He's dying soon, needs to see me settle down with a family first before he lives, luckily she's with a child so he's insisting on the marriage first before she even gives birth", Luther said. "Ohh, the old man, come let's get you comfortable, follow me", Owen said and led us to another part of the boat. It looked like the VIP side. This place was do beautiful, it doesn't even look like you're on water, looks like a normal house or something. "I had to get you two out of there, those women looked like they were trying to murder Ivy with their eyes", Owen said. "Just wait till I announce our engagement ", Luther said. "Announce?", I whimpered. Owen laughed, "She's the shy type right?". "You have no idea ", Luther said and we got comfortable. "The Hamptons, are they still coming?", Luther said pouring himself a glass of wine. "They said they will, but you know they're very sly, plus they're looking for every way to run away from signing our family in that contract ", Owen said pouring two glasses, he handed one over to me. "I'm not allowed to drink", I said. "Forgive me", he said smiling. "Your fiancee is very beautiful, where did you find her?", Owen asked. I think Owen is the only person in Luther's family that doesn't hate me. "Places", Luther said taking a full sip. "Also, if the Hamptons don't come tonight, I might as well go pay them a visit ", Luther said. "Not everything has to be violent Luther", Owen said laughing. "I can't show up for a meeting and you don't, that's disrespectful ", I said. The door flew open. My heart skipped a beat, oh no Laura. "What are you doing here?", Owen asked. She looked at me with disgust. "Luther's father asked that I come here and ensure that you two don't fuck things up", she said and wiggled her way in between Luther and I. "Where are the Hamptons?", she asked picking up the glass I was supposed to drink. "We're yet to see them", Owen replied. "Why will they keep us waiting?", Laura sounded pissed, well that's how she had been since I met her. She pulled her phone from her purse and made a call. "Yes hello, this Is Laura Smith, are the Hamptons at their residence? well fucken check I didn't pay you to sit there and look ugly... they're about to have a family dinner... beautiful we'll join then shortly ", she said and cut the call.. "What was that?", Luther asked. "I paid someone to follow them up and ensure that they don't try doing anything funny like running away or something. And he said they're about to have dinner, which means they're not coming so we have to go get them ourselves ", she said putting her phone in her purse and pulling out a cigarette. She lit it and stood up. "C'mon, let's go, I have other important things to do ", she said. We stood up. "Uhh, Ivy I think I'm going to have to send you back home", Luther said. I nodded, "Okay ". We headed to the main room. "But first ", he said. "I'll like to make an announcement ", he said in a loud voice. Everyone went quiet. Laura and Owen stopped walking. "This is my fiancee Ivy, she's one of us now, please treat her with respect or I will kill you, carry on", he said and we walked out of place. The whispering, murmuring and side talks increased. I shut my ears from hearing any of it because I knew they were going to be saying things I wouldn't want to hear. He walked me to the car.
