Chapter 79

Chase P.O.V

Standing at the bottom of the stairs I pace around trying to keep myself calm. The longer Mr. Blakemoore is gone, the more I fear and worry she will not give me a chance. Time ticks on and it feels like it is slowing down. Mr. Blakemoore appears at the top of the stairs, so I hold my breath waiting for him to tell me either yes or no.

As he descends the stairs I try and get a read of his face. When he reaches the bottom of the stairs, he looks at me and sighs. I know what the answer is. “She’s not wanting to talk, is she?”

He shakes his head, and it feels like my chance has puffed up in smoke. “No son she’s not but she did say she will talk to you but not right now. I’m sorry Chase I tried to get her to see reason, but she thinks you’ve got back together with Candace.”
