When the song finishes everyone claps at both me and Josephine. I must say this girl knows how to edit music that sounded amazing she could be one hell of a music producer if that’s her passion in life. During the remainder of the class, everyone one by one was discussing their notes aloud and I made notes on what they were saying about my singing. Even if it’s good or bad I aim to improve every time and I appreciate the critiques. “Thank you, everyone, now” the bell rings “That is the end of today’s class I would like to say a big thank you to Josephine for working on the deck during this class and Savannah thank you for sharing your voice that song was beautifully sung.” “Thank you, Mrs. Penny it was a pleasure, to sing today, and may I ask before I go could I get a copy of that demo please?” “Certainly, come back at the end of the day and I’ll have it ready for you.” I nod my head and make my way to my next class. But there is something on my mind as I left the recording studi
The school day could not finish quickly enough today. I had three more encounters with Candace warning me to stay away from what is hers. That just pisses me off when someone is claiming another person to be their property. Luckily, Jen, Selena, and Greg were there by my side to tell her to back the fuck off. Since Marine Biology, Greg has quickly become a good friend of mine and I have promised him that I will get him and Jen alone so he can tell her how he truly feels one day. As I reach my car to go home as I have a huge report to write up for Marine Biology, Jen approaches me. “Hey, Sav could I grab a lift home as Chase bailed out of school sometime today and we carpooled, and I’ve got no way to get home.” Why would he do that to his sister? Why would he leave her stranded at school? “Sure, climb on in but I won’t be taking you home we’re going to find him as I want to have a word with him because of his behavior today not just to me but to you as well.” Oh yeah, Mama Bear
I start to walk away from him and go back to my car I can’t be here anymore, but Chase starts to follow me. “Savannah please wait!” I turn around and look at him so he can see what he has done to me. “No Chase just stop I never want to speak to you again. The only time when I speak to you is if I’m being polite or if it’s for our dads otherwise, I don’t want to hear it.” I run all the way to my car I jump in, wipe the tears off my cheeks, pull out of the parking lot, and drive off home with not a care in the world. Pulling into my driveway I come to a screeching halt, throwing myself out of my car not locking it behind me, I charge straight upstairs and into my room slamming the door behind me and collapse on my bed, and sob into my pillow. I stayed in my room for what felt like hours to only get disturbed by a gentle knock on my door I sit up and dry my tears from my face “Yeah.” My bedroom door slowly creaks open and Dad’s head pops in “Sweetpea is everything okay? Did someth
“Savannah sweetheart this is Toni our housekeeper, Toni this is my beautiful daughter Savannah.” “It’s a pleasure to meet you Savannah I have heard nothing but amazing things about you.” “Nice to meet you too Toni, you must show me how to make this one day it smells amazing.” Toni smiles at me bowing her head slightly and she takes her leave. After dinner, I insisted on clearing the table and loading the dishwasher. Yes, even though we have Toni who can do that for us, I just don’t feel comfortable that Toni is doing everything. I like to feel useful around the house and this is my way of being useful. Collecting mine and Dad’s now empty plates after such a burst of flavor in those quesadillas, I take them to the sink and give them a quick rinse down before I put them in the dishwasher and I do the same routine, with the cutlery and glassware. It didn’t take me long to clean up after dinner. Dishwasher filled and running, placemats put away in a drawer and the table wiped down
Sometimes just like today, I wish the weekend was longer. It flew by in a blink of an eye. I kept to my word by keeping myself busy with unpacking and losing myself in my music. I can say that now I am all moved in and everything in my room is unboxed I feel a lot more settled into my new home. I moved a few things around with Dad’s help and readjusted some little things, but I am now happy with the layout of the room I can call mine until I start college. Speaking of college my dad and I sat down together most of Saturday afternoon to early evening looking through colleges with the best music programs. Together we found two great schools and there’s something ironic about doing my research. I am now left with a choice the same as my dad made. Go back home to North Carolina to attend Wake Forest University or stay here in California and attend Berkeley University. I spoke with Dad and we both agreed to speak to the school’s college advisor as well as my teachers and see what they s
Outside by our cars, I told the girls what I got told today and they were ecstatic for me. I told them everything that was said and what I needed to do to make sure I have a chance for the scholarship. Jen said, “Don’t worry about the recommendation as you know my dad would be more than happy to give you a glowing letter of recommendation after when he heard you play for my mom before Chase joined in and made it something else.” “Jen, did you just say your brother plays guitar? Oh, my god I know I shouldn’t be saying this to you but hearing that has just made him ten times hotter.” Jen gagged at Selena’s comment, and I laughed because I thought and repeated when he put the guitar over his shoulder and started playing the song with me. Even though I want to forget about him I just can’t seem to. I refuse to stop being friends with Jen because of him, she has done nothing wrong toward me. She has been the loyal friend everyone wants to have in their lives. And the same goes for Sel
Dad’s face lit up like it was the fourth of July, it’s the same face he gave me when he told me about his promotion, and he wraps me in his arms and hugs me. “Oh, my baby girl I am so proud of you that is fantastic news we must celebrate tonight, after dinner, we are going out for ice cream I don’t care if you’re too old for it now I want to celebrate your success.” “Thanks, Dad I like the sound of that, and I know just the place too it’s this little ice cream parlor I saw down on the pier at the beach they have a sundae called the brownie exploder.” “That sounds like an ice cream I could enjoy too.” He smiles at me and squeezes me as I’m still wrapped up in his arms. I turn and look over Dad’s shoulder. “Toni you’re more than welcome to join us if you would like.” Dinner was delicious, one of the best pasta dishes I’ve eaten in years. Once it was all cleaned up and dishes and cutlery put away in the dishwasher it was time to go for our celebratory dessert. Toni declined ou
Chase P.O.V All I want is just a moment of her time. I just want to explain everything. My actions for last Friday, having Candace around my house when I knew Savannah was there and mostly just to apologize. That’s why I’ve had a quick little word with my friend Lucas to make Savannah’s brownie exploder her ultimate favorite. Instead of it being chocolate and vanilla ice cream. I asked Lucas if he could just do the one flavor of mint chocolate chip and with extra brownie pieces. I will pay the extra no problem if it gives me just a moment of her time. “Thanks, man,” I hand Lucas a twenty-dollar bill as Lucas says he won’t charge me extra this time just I have to promise him I will assist him with something when he asks me as Mr. Blakemore hands Savannah her ice cream. He takes the money and pays and hands me over my change. “No problem, man see ya in school tomorrow.” I tap the counter with my knuckles “Morning workouts as usual see ya then.” I turn around to see Mr. Blakemor

Chase P.O.VFour years later Well, it’s been four amazing years in San Fransisco. Savannah and I graduated college last week. I got a degree in Business and in Finance, where Savannah got one in English Literature and in Music. Where I double majored in college Savannah had a major in English but a minor in music. We both graduated with high honors. The world is now our oyster. But before we can even think about anything to do with the world and how we wish to change it I am back at the office wanting to speak to Savannah’s father. It is now time we had that discussion I said I planned to have with him back when we were seniors in high school. Fuck that feels like forever ago. I told her father on the night of the Christmasqurade ball that one day I will come to him to ask for his daughter’s hand in marriage and today is that day. I have arranged for a meeting with Mr. Blakemore to take place in the company’s board room and I asked my dad to be present during this meeting. I plan fo
It has been a couple of weeks since prom and the big day is approaching quickly. Today we get our yearbooks and get them signed before graduation day that is this Saturday. It’s hard to believe this is our final week in high school. It feels like today is still my first day of school but it’s actually almost my last. Not paying attention to where I was going or who was around me with my yearbook in hand I collide into a big, solid mass of a person knocking my books, my yearbook, and some odd bits of paper all over the floor. Bending down to pick everything up, still not paying attention to who I bumped into, on instinct I do apologize to the person as I start picking up my things. I see the person I bumped into bend down and starts to help me with picking up my things and holds out my English book and my notes to hand back to me. I can’t believe I’ve done this again. “You may need these sweetheart,” Hang on a minute? Did I just? Looking up I see Chase smiling at me as he holds my stuf
We all climb out of the limo and the guys are all holding our arms and escorts us up into the building. Two doormen kindly open the door for us and welcome us to the Crystal Palace and to enjoy our evening. First stop for us as Chase and Lucas recommended is to get our pictures done first so then that way, we don’t look too red faced or sweaty. That is actually not a bad idea if you think about it. We get a bunch of pictures took, we had solo pictures, the six of us together, just the girls, just the guys, and with our dates. I can’t wait to see how the pictures come out because I will be getting a copy of every single one. Entering into the ballroom of the palace we can hear the DJ playing ‘Just Dance’ by Lady Gaga. We walked around couples and across the dancefloor to the only table that is free for us to claim. The girls and I put our purses on the table and hit the dance floor with how good the music is sounding. After a couple of songs, the guys joined us on the dance floor alre
After clipping my bow into place, I have one final look at myself in my bathroom mirror before I step out and show the girls. Walking to the door, putting my hand on the handle I close my eyes, take a deep breath, and open the bathroom door. On the other side of the door, I see Jen and Selena with their phones taking my picture and recording me as I walk out. Putting a huge smile on my face I walk out the bathroom giving the girls a twirl and a cute little princess curtsey I have seen Princess Catherine do before. The girls laugh and comment how incredible I look, and Jen commented on the bow. “How big did you want that thing? Fuck Sav that’s the biggest ass bow I have ever seen stuck on anybody’s ass.” We laugh at her comment as I walk over to my vanity. Sitting down on my stool I put in a pair of my mom’s diamond and pearl drop earrings and her snowflake necklace again. Wearing this necklace makes everything feel like it’s turned in a full circle. Finding out Chase was Wolf behind
Three weeks later Tonight is prom night. The night all the senior girls look forward to the most. Don’t ask me about the guys some look forward to it for other reasons than what it means. The girls and I are getting ready together. We all booked to get our hair and makeup done at a salon today for tonight. We are sat in the chairs getting pampered away, a treat from Selena’s Abuela, as she said no Nieta of hers will not go to prom without having a beauty day at the salon. We all chose to have a French manicure and pedicure, to keep it simple. We also showed our makeup artists pictures of our dresses so they could do our makeup to match our dresses. Jen’s hair shaped her face beautifully. She had a volumized high ponytail with some hair extensions that matched her hair color perfectly with elegant curls and some curls framing her face. To finish the look off she had this black jeweled crystal hair clip she slid into the top part of the ponytail. Jen’s makeup made her look much older t
Walking into the house I see Dad sat on the stairs with what looks like a photo album in his hand. I shut the door behind me and slowly approach him looking at the sad expression on his face as he stares at a photo in the book. When I got closer, he looked up at me with unshed tears in his eyes. When I asked him if everything was okay, he said that everything was fine and he was just living back in the past, and he showed me the page he was looking at in the photo album. It was Mom and Dad’s high school graduation. It was the picture of Mom with her diploma and then Dad with his diploma and under that was the picture of the two of them together. Dad told me the story about how him and Mom met in high school. Hearing what he said was almost a de ja vu. Mom bumped into Dad as she wasn’t watching where she was going, and Dad bent down to help Mom pick up her things and he said it was like love at first sight. We sat on the stairs for a few more minutes just talking and reliving the good
The school year is flying by. Finals are vastly approaching; concert rehearsals are in full swing and it’s almost time for prom season. Chase has been working hard at school and working harder with football. Right now, he has done all he can to impress the college scouts. We all have been working hard I’ve even seen Jen studying some pre law books and even reading about the LSATS. Selena went to some business seminars to see if that is truly the route she wants to go down after graduation. Lucas has been working just as hard if not harder than Chase with his school work and with football. Greg on the other hand has slacked off a little but he has already confirmed he has a secured place in college already. But which one? I don’t know. College acceptance letters should be coming in the post soon but how long after finals will they arrive? Hopefully not long as I believe they wait for finals and the final grades before sending out the letters. All this pressure can make or break some hi
Lunch in hand, Selena and I start walking to the bleachers when Greg and Lucas catch up to us, and the four of us walk together the rest of the way. Jen and Chase are already sat up in the bleachers as we arrived. Lucas helped Selena up with her food and Chase came down to help with mine and we went and joined Jen and enjoy our lunch together. We joked around and had a good time just as we should do at our age because with this being our senior year we only have a short time together like this before we go our separate ways for college. Speaking of college, we all talked about where we have applied for and where we hope to go. Lucas has had a couple of calls from college scouts and Chase said he has had the same but the one he is hoping to hear from he has not just yet. Jen said she is wanting to do a couple of years in one college and then go to Harvard to study law as that is where she feels more passionate, and she gets to be part of the family business in some way or another. Greg
