Theon
A series of notifications arrived on my cell phone. Samantha had sent me a few messages. I opened them up, there were some pictures of a blood test on Samantha M. Hurst's name, and an ultrasound. It was already possible to see a human form there, despite being small and misshapen, the little being already had arms, legs and a head.
My child.
I locked the phone's screen and put it in my pocket before hurrying home. I needed to resolve this at once.
I need to talk to Samantha. Maybe I should take advantage of Harper's trip to Denver tomorrow.
Harper... What will she think about this story? God, what a mess!
I walked into the house and went to the bathroom, a good shower would help me clear my head. As soon as I got out of the shower, I had managed to come up with an acceptable plan, I threw myself on the bed, taking out my cell phone to call my girlfriend.
"Hi Honey, did you forget something?"
“Harper, hi… I got a problem to take care of over the weekend, so I have to travel tomorrow.” I tried to be vague.
"A trip? Where?" she asked in surprise.
"Vegas. I have to go with Gregor" I thought of some excuse.
"Vegas!? You and Gregor have a problem to solve in Vegas? Are you serious, Theon?" she laughed.
"unfortunately yes" maybe I don't have a girlfriend for so long after all.
"Gregor's up to something, hasn't he?" she deduced.
I took a deep breath thinking of what to say. I didn't want to lie to her, but I also didn't want to tell her what was going on without talking to Samantha first.
“I'll be back Sunday morning.” I dodged the subject.
"Fine, I'll see you for lunch then," she sighed.
I hung up the phone before looking up my cousin's number in the address book. It was time to call in some favors.
" Are you more calm?" Gregor answered on the second ring.
“Pack your bags, we're going to Vegas,” I warned.
Gregor chuckled on the other side, as if I'd told him a good joke.
"Gregor, I'm serious, you're coming with me!"
"What's the fun?" I heard Agatha's voice in the background.
“Gregor, I already told Harper you're coming with me.” I tried another approach.
“Cousin, as much as I adore the city, you now that I have a lovely wife and I'm sure that she wouldn't agree to your plan.
"What plan?" Agatha questioned again.
“Weekend in Vegas,” he explained.
"No way! Have you gone crazy?" she raised her voice.
"You see?" Gregor snapped "there's nothing I can do, my friend."
"Put it on speakerphone." I rolled my eyes.
"Theon has been a month since you left Vegas, you already enjoyed a lot the week you stayed there, don't think that..."
"Agatha, I have a problem and I really need Gregor's help to solve it" I appealed "I swear to you it's not for fun."
"It's exactly because he had too much fun," Gregor chuckled in the background.
"What kind of trouble would you have in Vegas, Theon?"
“It's a big problem,” I dismiss.
"I wouldn't say big, it's still growing," my cousin joked, making me want to hit him in the head.
“Gregor."
“If you want her to release me, you'll have to reveal why, Adamos."
“What did you do?” Agatha asked suspiciously.
"I didn't do anything this time." I heard the smile in my cousin's voice.
“Okay Agatha, I rely on your description on this. Harper still doesn't know" I asked.
“Okay" She agreed.
“I met a girl in Vegas while traveling, we spent some time together.” I rubbed my throat a little uncomfortably.
"They spent the whole time together," Gregor corrected me.
“She called me today."
"Theon, do you really believe I'm going to support this!?" Agatha's voice rose, clearly irritated. "If you want to see this girl, you should at least have the decency to..."
“You misunderstood, Agatha,” Gregor interrupted his wife, “it's not that he wants to see her.
"So what is it?"
“She called me to say she's pregnant.” I sighed.
"And he's the father." Gregor seemed to be enjoying my misfortune.
“It's not that I want to go, but I need to sort this out. And I don't want to tell Harper something like this without being sure,” I explained. “I told her I was going with Gregor to solve a problem, so I need him to come with me.
“I…I don't know what to say, Theon,” she finally blurted out, “I'm shocked…"
"We'll be back Sunday morning," I assured him.
"Okay, I guess," she accepted a little uncertainly.
“I've already booked a flight, cousin,” Gregor warned. “We're leaving in the morning."
"Thanks Agatha, I'll stop by your house tomorrow, Gregor," I sighed in relief.
“Good luck and congratulations, Theon,” Agatha wished.
“Thanks.” I felt myself falter a little, I didn't think I'd hear anyone congratulate me on having a child so soon.
But at least Gregor is going with me, it's one less thing to deal with.
Theon" Are you ready? " I called out to Sam as I made sure that Henry didn't get dirty.I was in the living room, waiting for her to finish getting ready so we could go to the ceremony that awaited us, but she was taking longer than I thought." I'll be down in a minute, Apollo," she shouted in reply, "don't let the pancake get Henry dirty.”I watched my one-and-a-half year old boy lying on top of the dog with an angelic smile on his face. Maybe we should get him out of there before his mother comes downstairs." Henry, come with Daddy," I called, bending down to meet him.He lifted his head, which had been resting on the dog's back, and opened his smile even wider when he saw me gesturing to call him." Papa," he stammered, struggling to get up before running toward me in faltering steps. He was wearing a small tuxedo and his slightly curly hair, like his mother's, was adorably messy; he will steal the spotlight at this wedding. " Mama," he called, looking up the stairs befo
Theon I made my way to the maternity waiting room where everyone was waiting anxiously for some news. Carl and Selena were the first to see me and soon stood up. " Adamos, what happened? " Carl asked. " Henry decided to be a few weeks early, but everything is fine. He is perfect and healthy," I smiled as I remembered my little boy. He was better than I imagined, much better. " What does he look like? Can we see him? " Lara asked anxiously. All the excitement seemed to have served to make her momentarily forget everything that had happened that night. " He's with Sam in postpartum, he'll be there for a while," I explained, "Does anyone know about the…” I fell silent as I saw Callie coming down the hall beside Harper, the two of them talking quietly, while Daphne, who had just started to take her first steps, ran awkwardly in front of them. " Callie put them in the corner there," my mother pointed to Sam's two suitcases. " Thank you. I'll take them up to the bedroom.” I felt
SamanthaEveryone remained silent for seconds, not sure what to do before I decided to take action." I'll go…”I indicated the stairs without needing to explain much." Sure, I'll wait for you here," Theon assured me." Yeah, maybe it's better if someone neutral handles this," Iris endorsed.I nodded and went upstairs, in time to see Delphine approach Theon. She was certainly going to question him about his line from earlier.I walked uncertainly to the door of the room where we had been getting ready and exchanging confidences a few hours before. Poor Lara, I couldn't imagine what awaited her.I heard the doorbell ring, reminding me that the rest of the family would have some work to do to dispose of the ruined party guests. At least I could help here.Once again I felt that discomfort when Henry moved, followed by a slight pain in my groin. I tried to adjust the pants I was wearing comfortably before I knocked on the door, hearing the muffled cry coming from inside the room." Lara
SamanthaTheon parked the car in front of his mother's house again, it had been over two hours since we had left to go after Marcus and we didn't know what we would find there.Theon, however, didn't seem to want to burst the bubble of happiness we had created inside that car, and I couldn't blame him for that. For me, just our conversation in that car was enough to make me forget about the whole mess that had happened.Theon leaned in and kissed me again, erasing from my mind anything but the two of us. I brought my hand to the back of his neck, tangling my fingers in his hair.I couldn't believe I had run away from this for so long, this was all I needed, and Henry certainly agreed with me, as he kept moving inside me.But reality couldn't allow us to run away for so long, altered voices coming from inside the house caused us to separate immediately. Theon took a deep breath, looking worriedly at one of the windows." We have to get back there, don't we? " he looked tired." If we d
Theon Rushing footsteps followed me and I didn't have to look to find out who was following me. I could still hear my two sisters' argument getting louder and louder." Where are you going, Apollo? " Sam asked, panting as she struggled to keep up." Don't run," I murmured." Then walk slower," she pleaded as we reached the stairs.I complied with her request to prevent her from rushing up the stairs, but my mind was made up, Marcus would learn to keep his distance from any of my sisters!" Where are you going? " Sam asked again." I'm going to kill that bastard," I muttered, expecting her to try to stop me.My mother and sister were in the living room, looking startled at the confusion unfolding upstairs." Theon, what happened? " My mother asked.I didn't answer, I headed for the door while Sam shouted a summary of what had happened, running to catch up with me. I got into the car, preparing to start it when Sam took the passenger seat." What the…"" Come on, Apollo, you're not goi
Theon I parked the car in front of Sam's house, sending her a message to let her know that I had arrived. I was on my way to my mother's house when I received a call from Lara asking me to pick up the mother of my son. It seems that Sam had arranged with Lara to help her get ready for the party.Sam and I had become somewhat closer again after I had gone to her house two days ago, not quite the kind of closeness we were used to, but it was something. In fact, I was beginning to wonder if maybe I should have some hope for the future, since from the comments I heard, Sam was no longer with Mike Laffay.I was trying not to delude myself so much, not after everything that happened at Christmas, but it was still hard to deny that I still had feelings for her.Samantha left her house, hurrying to get into the car because of the snow that had been falling insistently since yesterday. It was the beginning of February and her belly was getting bigger and bigger, we had already started the cou
