06.Rescuing the heiress

Wang Wei started searching all the corpes one by one like crazy. He could identify his fellow soldiers’ bodies who were guarding the mansion of General, female guards who were there to assist & protect the lady.And beside them, he could identify their ladyship’s corpse lying, a blood stained dagger was in her folded fingers.It seemed even in this sudden,unexpected massacre,she had not given up without a fight. She indeed deserved to be the "lady of the black drgon". Wang Wei sighed deeply with regret  after seeing these.

But there was still another important thing he should do. Therefore,leaving all the corrpses behind, he went inside the house and started searching.The house was a mess because during the killing process,the assassins had searched the house too, scattering and breaking the things which got into their hands.He searched every nook and corner very carefully until he noticed a pile of hay in the stable near the Servants' quarters.Although that was a normal pile of hay which were stored for horse food,Wang Wei had a trace of suspicion after seeing that.So,he searched under the pile of hay and found a little girl dressed in a maid's clothes,shocked and freezed by fear.She was unable to utter a word,

Wang Wei escorted the frightened little girl out of the stable,thanking the heaven. Now that the young miss is alive,he had a hope,he had a new mission.,a great responsibility of protecting her,fullfilling his master's last order. But still,they were not out of danger.So, he had to make some quick decisions.

First of all he decided to leave this place.But he had to do something regarding Lady Jiang's corpse because he couldn't let anyone disrespect even a corpse of such a noble lady.

The drizzle had ceased now.After some quick thoughts,Wang Wei recovered some treasures and some other necessary things from the house which would be necessary in the future.Then he picked the female servant up who provided clues about young miss.He brought the young miss and that female servant along with him out of the house and headed to an inn  situated far from the main road.He reserved two rooms there,made young girl comfortable,kept the unconscious female servant in the other room.He went to the downfloor to meet innkeeper ,ordering foods and drinks,asking about the latest information around casually  because, although this inn was far from main road,it was the best place when it comes to getting latest information .

But surprisingly ,Wang Wei couldn't discover even a little information regarding the massacre happened in the Jiang household.It was as if they had no even a bit of knowledge  regarding that cold blooded annihilation . That means this masacre had taken place not  very long before. Wang Wei regreted deeply. If he could arrive a bit earlier…, he could have done something better than this. Sometimes, Lady Jiang also might have survived if it happened so. But there was no use regretting now.

After finished chatting with innkeeper ,he hired some helpers to go with him to Jiang household The assassins could come again anytime so he had to hurry. He buried the dead corpses of everyone with the help of hired helpers,paid his last respect and returned to the doctor's place where he dropped his subordinates .

They were treated well by the doctor.After seeing that,Wang Wei brought his friends and the doctor along with him to the inn.At there, first of all he asked the doctor to check Yin Yue, their young miss. After confirming that she had not received any physical injury,at last he got his wound properly treated and asked for medicines to have a fast recovery. He made sure to give the treatments for female servant he rescued .Then he did the payment for doctor and asked for his daily visits until his friends are fully recovered .

After the doctor left, now that his subordintes are in a better shape after receiving treatments, he started discussing their future plans with them..All of them were consensual on avenging their master.Then Wang Wei disclosed about the brutal annihilation of his master's family and safe existence of the young miss of Jiang family.

"I searched for some gossips and information regarding this annihilation around this inn,but it is abnormal that I couldn't get at least a little information .It seems as if anyone has no slightest knowledge regarding that so-called imperial edict that General Huang mentioned" Wang Wei explained .

"Therefore I think we need to get to the bottom of this problem and bring justice to our master"He said with determined tone.

"Yes brother Wei, we swear upon the names of our ancestors,we will give our utmost support to avenge our master"both of them swear their loyalty at the same time.

"There is a female maid who is unconscious right now.I think she also would be willing to cooperate with us because she was the personal maid of the Lady Jiang"Wang Wei told them.

"And I think it is not safe for young miss to remain in the capital.So I plan to take her to a remote area until our preparations are all ready"he contiued.

Then they heard some noises from the downfloor of the inn  .There seemed to be some hustle bustle . Wang Wei again went downstairs to have a look.Many people were gathered and chattering .He joined them and asked about the reason for sudden hustle bustle casually .

One man looked around carefully and answered in a low voice.

"An imperial edict has been issued saying that General Jiang Lin has colluded with king Lian aginst our emperor  and betrayed our country .He is to be assassinated by beheading and his whole family is to be slaughtered " his explanation  was interrupted by a aggressive voice of another man.

"How is it possible?General Jiang Lin is such a valiant and righteous person .He would never betray his country even in his dream"that man continued.

"keep your voice down if you do not want to die"the first man instructed the second man.

"we all know that,It is not a possibe thing to happen.But as civilians, we wouldn't have a word in an imperil edict.so,it is better to mind our own business "he advised the second man.

"The imperial edict has finally come." Wang Wei told himself.

"This has been their plan from the begining.Act first and announce late."he thought.

"Now that the entire family of master has been eliminated,they don't have much trouble.They are going to say my master rebelled .If my master was to be killed after the edict ,there would be so much commotions around the empire supporting him.Then they wouldn't get a chance to get rid of my master,That's why they did this."Wang Wei  got an idea what their plan had been.

Even though he knew how much talented his master was,Wang Wei never thought that the people in power were that much afraid of his master.He always was so proud to be a subordinate of General Jiang and now, that feeling of appreciation increased .

However ,he understood that.. ,now that the official decree is issued saying all the members of General Jiang Lin's family are betrayers...,it is not safe to keep the young miss of Jiang family within the capital.

Therefore he went to upstairs in long strides.He capsulized all the information he just got to the fellow guards .Then Wang Wei asked them to remain in the capital  while recuperating and act according to the situation.He asked them to take care of the female servant too.Then he handed over some money to them which he got from master's house for their usage while recovering and he asked them to wait for his messages .

After discussing those things,he went to see the little girl in the room next door.She was sitting in the room,staring aimlessly ,she hadn't even touched the food that was given to her.Wang Wei had no time to persuade her to eat now.Therefore he asked innkeeper for some dried food rations to be stored in a bag.After he got them,he paid for all and he just escorted the young girl out of the room,

Outside the inn ,some sounds of chaos could be heard and when Wang Wei looked at the direction of Jiang household,he could see the sight of sky craping flames even from this far.The night was still young and they had to go far.Heaving a heavy sigh,he mounted on the horse with the little girl, heading towards their unknown new destination.

The stopped rain started pouring down again very heavily even before they escaped from the capital yet they continued their journey until they ended up in this cave of this forest.
