Iori smoothed her dress for the tenth time as she watched herself in the mirror. The fabric flew over her knees not too short nor too long.
She had painstakingly styled her into a loose chignon at the back of her neck letting some strands curl around her neck and the sides of her face. And even went through the trouble of putting some makeup on.
Taking a deep breath she tried to calm down the nerves swirling in her stomach, why was she nervous in the first place?
Sighing with exasperation, she headed out to find Jun standing in the living room looking down at his phone. He looked at her as soon as he heard the door open and his eyes widened at the sight of her.
He stood there staring at her for a moment until she cleared her throat and he blinked,
“You look… You look stunning.” Jun said in awe as he stepped toward her.
“Thank you. You don’t look so bad yourself…” Iori responded and Jun gave her a s
Jun stood there staring at the back of the old man’s friend’s lad head. Would he stop leering at Iori if he smacked him at the back of the head?Since he got to know Iori and her family, he never ceased to be amazed at the leering the mention of their family name caused. He hadn’t been aware of it until Kurosaki did her stunt unknowingly exposing her and in consequence him as her boyfriend. He was still being approached by people who hoped to get to her through him to her. And that’s exactly what Saitou was trying to do right now…“We should have dinner together one of these days,” Saitou was saying, and Iori’s expression turned into a cool smile as she opened her mouth to answer him,“If you can excuse us, Saitou-san. It hadn’t been long since Iori’s discharge from the hospital and she shouldn’t be kept standing up for long,” Jun said rounding the table and pulling Iori’
“You know… Back in high school, I used to have a special spot…” Jun told her as she stared at him unable to move.“The corner of the library. No one ever goes there. I could nap all I wanted and there were as many books as I wished to be there, the library was a true treasure… For the first two years, it had been my sanctuary. Until one day in my third year, someone stumbled into my corner. It was a second-year transfer student, and the most beautiful girl I had ever set my eyes on.” Jun continued and Iori’s heart caught. He was definitely talking about her. He was the guy she got to know for a short time back then… Her first love…“We got talking about books and things like that and it turned out that we got along much better than I would have thought. We had almost the same interest in books, and we got along pretty well. She went on from being the intruder in my space to the presence I was
Jun shifted in the bed waking up but not daring to open his eyes yet. It was still too warm and comfortable to move. Reaching out to the other side of the bed, planning to snuggle into the soft warmth he was sure to find there, Jun found nothing. His eyes snapped open when he realized that the other side of the bed was cold. He sat up and looked around. Was it all a dream? No, it can’t be…The taste of warmth and saltiness from Iori’s tears was still lingering on his tongue, among other things. Her scent still surrounded his skin like a branding soft smell that made him relive last night’s moments as if they were an illusion coming up to surround his senses again. He was in his room, in his bed. But everything seemed to remind him of her… The door where she stood looking up at him with her beautiful black eyes whispering his name softly and coarsely. The balcony where she playfully escaped and he carried her back inside as she lau
Iori opened her eyes when she felt an arm circle her waist and pull her back as if she weighed nothing. She quietly groaned feeling a delicious ache around her muscles running through her like gentle reminder of the few happy hours she spent.“You monster,” She complained opening her eyes to peek at Jun who was smiling down at her.“You weren’t complaining this much earlier…” He commented and she sent him a half-hearted glare.“What time is it?” She asked him shifting toward him and snuggling into his arms.“Just before eleven, wanna have breakfast?”“I don’t think that I can take a step out of here,” She mumbled,“ah, we kind of overdid it today…” Jun commented wryly and it was Iori’s turn to chuckle,“You’re saying that now” She threw back and he smiled down at her. A soft gentle smile, not teasing nor play
Jun eyed Iori, she was curled on the couch staring at the laptop and sometimes stealing glances at her phone. He walked slowly behind her and blew a breath at her nape making her jump up startled.“Jun!” She squeaked out and Jun shimmied into the small spot between her and the side of the couch,“Call them…” He told her and she stiffened beside him.“What are you talking about?” She responded and Jun sighed, she was going to be difficult about it…“Since you got that text from your aunt yesterday you’ve been on edge and staring at your phone as if expecting it to ring if you keep looking at it expectantly.” He told her and she sighed,“I don’t want to call father, we just started getting along again. I know that he wants me to get married because he’s worried. I don’t want to disappoint him…”“It wasn’t your father who organiz
“That’s not where the shopping mall is…” Iori announced as Jun drove them into the city,“I thought you might like a shop that I know…” Jun responded, “It’s owned by a friend of mine and I always get my formal clothes there,”“Hmm, A friend…” Iori responded“Not that kind of friend…” Jun said with a chuckle“With you, you never know…” Iori muttered and he turned silent,She turned to look at him to find him stealing worried glances her way,“I’m kidding, you know…” She told him and he made an awkward sound and exhaled.“I know that I don’t have the best reputation when it comes to this…” He commented“You’re worried because we didn’t openly talk about it when we started dating?” Iori asked“We didn’t talk about much&hel
Jun sat back on the couch provided at the waiting room and waited. His leg was vibrating up and down in impatience. His gaze kept flickering toward the curtain where Iori and Anna disappeared. The occasional sound of laughter and murmurs drew his attention and he had to stop himself from bursting inside and interrupting them. He knew Anna would have a fit. She was particular about her customer service and that no one sees the customer before they are deemed acceptable by her.But he couldn’t care less about that now. He was rethinking his choice of taking Iori here. He had done that because he knew Anna was the best and he had been looking forward to seeing her dressed up. But, he somehow forgot that Iori was exactly Anna’s type.Anna was going to make him live through hell and back…“You must be sitting on needles by now…” Anna commented as she slipped outside,“Did you finish ogling my girlfriend?
Iori stood in front of the mirror staring at her reflection and liking what she saw. The dress was marvelous and everything about it was made to show just enough and entice whoever was watching into wanting more.Since she had decided not to face her father with the gathering’s invitation, Iori could barely sleep. She knew that she wasn’t making the right choice, she knew that she was taking the easy way out, but, still, she just couldn’t contact her father about it…Jun had respected her decision and taken it without even trying to change her mind. He knew her enough by now not to push her when she couldn’t take it. And she was grateful for that…Besides, Jun seemed to be preoccupied with other matters. His phone vibrated all day long and there seemed to be a lot of calls that he wasn’t taking. His concentration on their work wasn’t effective and he barely reached the required word count this week. Jun had somet
