The next day, Jackson and I were on our way to the rugby field. It was a beautiful day outside such as my mood, the sun was shining and there was a cool breeze in the air. The feeling was utterly refreshing.

And we were both excited to get down to the field and join our rugby training session. Even if it was just our daily training session, my wolf could not deny his overwhelming.

"Did something happen last night?" Jackson asked before he shrugged. Perhaps he already noticed that I could not drop those ear-to-ear smiles on my face.

Then I stopped making a buzzing sound and turned my face toward him. "Hmmph. Maybe? Maybe not?" I said back, my voice low but calm.

"Dude, are you on drugs right now?" Jackson quickly scanned the nearby places to make sure no one could hear his word.

"Maybe? Or maybe not?" I said back. "But if it was a drug, perhaps it was a kind of drug that you could get the feeling you just hit the jackpot. Do you know what I mean?"

At that moment, I felt an unexplainable sense of sadness that I had never experienced before. It was not just because they were seniors like us, but they were the top students in our school. The news seemed to spread fast, and soon our classmates started to pile up outside the classroom with questions and concerns. We didn’t have any answers. Our teachers were asked to inform their homeroom students, and it was a somber day in school. People whispered in the hallway as we walked to and from class, discussing the situation. It was hard to focus on anything that day, and most teachers canceled their classes to deal with the trauma of our students. The school introduced counseling sessions for us to cope with the grief. The next few days were hard for us. Although we had the Sports Feast event, the whole school was in mourning. Everyone held a moment of silence, and the participants had black armbands to signify their respect for our fallen classmates. Slowly, we lear

"Randolph Stroem," Simon uttered. "Randolph Stroem? Who the hell is that?" I asked with long curve lines written all over my forehead. "As far as I could remember, Randolph Stroem is not a student in this school anymore," Karen said. "Well, that explains his forty-seven years old written in the information sheet of the DNA Test Result." Alex agreed. "He's one of the school's maintenance staff-" Karen cut off her words before she moved out of her seat and evacuated the room. All of us could not help but exchange confused glances when we could barely read and understand what was running through Karen's mind at that moment. However, we were also curious about it so we followed her outside. We tailed her scent heading to the maintenance office and found her knocking on the door. "Is everything all right, Miss Stanford?" asks the man as soon as he opened the door. We believed he is one of the school's maintenance staff because of his uniform. "We are he

"A murder list?" Jackson before he hopped out of the car and followed me heading to the monster. "You mean, they are not going to stop until everyone on their list turned dead?" I nodded. Right. Jackson kept asking questions since he can barely hear the monster and father's conversation considering the distance between us. "We must stop them as soon as possible," I uttered in a rush. As soon as we stood more or less ten meters away from them, the monster and his father enlarged the balls of their eyes either because they were caught in the act or after seeing me in my werewolf form. They were both surprised upon seeing us looking at them out of the blue. And I started to feel my heart racing inside my chest. I mean, who could not be? We just had the perfect spot to get a glimpse of a half-human and half-dragon monster. Jackson also mustered his courage to stand by my side as we faced off against the monstrous Leviathan and his human father. The air was thick wi

"Take the woman to the hospital and stay away from this fight. The monster was already getting out of hand and he doesn't care if he could hurt anyone." I replied before I forced my knees to stand up and dragged Jackson back to the car by force. But as soon as I had started the engine of the car, Jackson called out to me, his voice urgent as he pointed a finger towards the Wendigo monster running away in the distance. And my werewolf instinct kicked in that I must follow Eric, no matter what the cost. "Where are you going?" Jackson yelled at me. "Get away from here, Jackson!" I yelled back. "Take her to the hospital." Without a second thought, I dashed out of the car and morphed into my werewolf form once more, with Mr. James following close behind. We tore down the city streets, leaving the normal world behind as we slipped into the realm of werewolf vision, where scents and sounds were amplified beyond human comprehension. As soon as we reached the park, the

"What happened to you? Why are you naked right now? And how come you and Jackson did not show up in our classes?" Karen finally bombarded me with questions after almost an hour of traveling the streets without knowing where to head to. "It's a long story but we captured Eric and brought him to the laboratory," I said back. "But, something happened that you might not like to hear." Karen furrowed from the rearview mirror. "And what could that be?" she asked. I heaved a prolonged sigh of regret before I let out, "Mr. James... your idot mate just fucking challenged the old man. I mean, I tested his patience earlier..." "What?" Karen cut me off with several long curve lines written on her forehead. She even stepped on the brake and stopped the car in the middle of the road. "But I thought you already liked the old man?" "He ordered his werewolf guardians to kill Eric instead of helping them." I furrowed. "Nah. I don't want to talk about it anymore. Can you send me

"What are you guys doing here?" Simon asked, his glance has been marked with surprise and suspicion. "And what is this formal attire, huh? Wait, don't tell me you two were having a date in this restaurant?" "A da-date?" I rolled my eyes, trying to avoid getting eye-to-eye contact with anyone apart from Karen. "Of course not." I defensively uttered. "Karen and I just had a meal and talked about good and bad things that happened to us recently, right, Karen?" And my wolf looked like a fool when it was pretty obvious that every corner of my body was sweating and my voice was stuttering. I even dragged Karen to lie to our friends. "Yeah," Karen said, her voice was calm. Then she humbly smiled at Simon. "I see," Jackson replied. "But, why is Melvin's entire face flushing, huh? Are you guys celebrating something? Anniversary? Someone's birthday? No, it could not be. I know both of your birthdates." We don't know how did Jackson get the idea but he just hit the jackpo

  • A Werewolf Guardian Got Prank Gone Wrong   Jennie Spencer

Karen and I traveled with a thick wall that divided us in the car on our way to school. But this time, the silence was deafening and overwhelming, almost suffocating. My mind was still racing with thoughts of Jennie Spencer’s confession, and I could tell Karen’s mind was too. We met Jennie Spencer in front of my apartment building just a few moments ago, and she revealed something that shocked me to my core. Apparently, according to a supposed werewolf tradition of our pack, fated mates existed either to those who are already part of your lives since the beginning of times or those who came to you by surprise. Alpha Draku's written rules were as clear as day that fated mates should not be neglected or rejected. It was our way to uphold the balance of our kinds. I know Karen was well aware of that written rules too. But how am I supposed to do with that fated mate thing when my wolf was already mated to Karen? Does that mean I must break up with her and accept J

"But our wolves were destined mates, Melvin." Jennie insisted. "Perhaps what everyone told about you was a mistake. That you are one of those wolves who will uphold the written rules of our kind. Now I know that you're not." Jennie's face fell, and I felt a pang of guilt in my heart when her tears even dropped to her cheeks. I knew she valued such werewolf traditions, but it was not something my wolf could reciprocate. But before I could say anything else, we heard a weird sound coming from above us. It was enough to make the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. Jennie suddenly noticed something above us. "Do you hear that?" she asked me frantically. "Hear what?" I asked, confused and panicked, then followed the point of her eyes. "There! Right above us!" she hissed, pointing upwards. "My wolf sensed danger in one of the rooms above us." We were in the middle of the elevator, with no way of reaching the top except by the stairs or pressing a number f

He shifted back to his human form, and with a sadistic grin, he cruelly taunted me, relishing in his superiority. He unleashed a barrage of punches to my battered face, blood spewing from my mouth with each blow. The agony intensified, yet he continued to laugh, finding pleasure in my suffering. "How does it feel, huh, Melvin?" he continued. "Does it hurt? How about removing your fingers one by one? That would be music to my ears." The dense forest surrounding the cave was already engulfed in dark smoke and flames. The crackling fire licked hungrily at the trees, transforming the once serene landscape into a fiery nightmare. And at the center of it, all stood a colossal werewolf, towering over us with an air of malevolent power. The massive creature was not just content with burning the forest.
