CHLOE
After agreeing to go on a date with Max, I returned home, still not knowing if it was a good idea or not.
After all, I was still mated to Aaron
When I opened the door, someone hit it with their hand and pushed me against the wall.
Closing my eyes with sudden force as my back hit the wall. When I opened them, Aaron trapped me between the wall and his body. His eyes had a menacing gleam that I had never seen before. They were a deep shade of blue, not the normal baby blue I was used to.
“What the hell is this—”
But he put his hand over my mouth, shushing me when he started smelling me. What the hell? Let me go!, I mentally connected to him.
He lifted his head to look at me as he growled. That's when I realized it wasn't Aaron, but Cronnos who had taken command.
I managed to get his hand out of my mouth.
“Cronnos. Let Aaron take back control, now,” I ordered him.

CHLOEMorning came faster than I would have liked. I was getting totally cold about this meeting with Max.I should have refused immediately, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. He was too sweet for me to break his heart like that. And I know what it's like to anticipate rejection. I had to put up with this for months with Aaron. And Max has been nothing but kind and thoughtful to us. Rhea murmured in my mind. She was completely right.Let's just get this over with and try not to hurt Max's feelings in the process, I told her. She nodded in response.I grabbed my phone that was charging, went down to the kitchen and found Mrs. Kala there, beating eggs."Good morning my love. Breakfast will be ready soon,” she said, smiling warmly at me.“Lady Kala, it is really not necessary for you to come and prepare my meals.I told Aaron I could do it,” I told her, and she quickly dismissed me.
CHLOEThe hours passed painfully quickly.I sat at home, thinking about whether or not I should pretend to be sick and not go to the date. But then I imagine Max getting hurt because I dumped him, and I couldn't bring myself to do it.Max has been nothing but sweet to me since the first time I met himHe took care of me, gave me a shoulder to cry on when Aaron treated me—his own partner—like trash. Why couldn't I have been mated with Max? Why was the Moon Goddess so eager to keep me and Aaron together? It was clear as day that he didn't want me. He had only recently recognized me because I might be of royal descent, which could make him king of the werewolves.Just itKnock, knock. A-Miss. Kala knocked lightly on my door.“The day is over, Lady Chloe. I'm going back to the mansion now. Shouldn't you go meet beta Max in a bit?" she asked meMy stomach churned with anxiety.“Yes
CHLOEAfter Max and Emma recovered from the shock of finding out they were partners, the bond kicked in and they were practically all over each other.Don't get me wrong, I was super excited that the two people I loved like brothers found themselves partners.Still, I couldn't help but feel a little jealous of how quickly the bond brought them together. At first, Emma was reluctant to accept that Max was her partner, as he was known for being a womanizer. But the sincerity in Max's eyes, and the hint of their mating bond had been more than enough for her to give him a chance.Afterwards, we all went back to the pack house to have a small party for the new couple. It was Aspen's idea. She was thrilled to have more women around now that Max had found his partner.Miss Kala asked the kitchen staff to prepare some snacks.Needless to say, the house was overflowing with excitement over the fact that the beta had
CHLOESomehow I managed to escape Wendell and quickly run away for over an hour, dodging trees, trying to get away from the hunters. I was trying to get back to the pack house, to warn them, but I couldn't get past the renegade bastards. and I couldn't call anyone since I wasn't in wolf form.I couldn't transform. My white wolf would be an easy target. If I had been crowned a luna, I could talk to each member of the pack if I needed to, without having to transform. Somehow, the human hunters created a barrier that muffled the gunshots, so that no wolves were able to hear them. .If they could, they would now be invading the entire forest. This had to be the work of a witch, but how did they get one to cooperate with them?I smelled nine people in total, including Wendell and Tallulah. This bitch I couldn't believe she was working with them. That's how they got to know our weaknesses. This is how they managed to cross our
CHLOEI was stunned by what had just happened. For a moment, everyone in the fields stood still, in complete shock at what had happened.Psyche, Emma's wolf, had managed to kill the humans she was fighting. She ran to where I was.How the hell did you do that? Emma's voice screamed in my head.“I really don't know,” I said, looking down at my hands. What do you mean you don't know? You just buried a man alive!“Yes, I know that, but it’s a long story,” I said.Cronnos growled at us.Well, whatever you've done, make sure you keep doing it! - said Emma.At this moment, Max's wolf came to us, snuggling up to Psyche."Love are you OK?" he asked her.“I am, thanks to Rory,” Emma told him.Cut the chat! We still have to get rid of these idiots! Aaron growled at us. We all stayed alert. Humans ran towards us, ready to attack us.But we we
AARON “The doctor's diagnosis was that the mixture the witches threw in was a combination of dogkill and nightingale serum,” Remus explained. “He said it wasn't a strong dose of dogkill, so it wasn't that harmful, but the Affected pack members may be debilitated for a few days,” he continued. We sat in my office, assessing the situation that occurred the night before. He and I took less damage than the rest of the pack. scams aimed at his newfound partner, who happened to be Chloe's best friend. What were the chances? “There haven’t been many casualties so far?” I asked my gamma, inspecting the papers the pack doctor had sent me. “Very few, alpha. Just the trackers and warriors who were on guard and Tallulah Wilhelm,” he replied. He hesitated. “We still haven’t been able to contact the Blue Moon gang. My guess is that the pack disbanded when Tallulah failed in her task.” I was also sure that was the case. So far, our attempts to contact Alpha Wilhelm and his members have been futi
CHLOE I changed back to my human form and approached the gray-eyed woman. “Are you really Eleanora Winchester? A-Eleanora. Winchester who raised my mother?” I couldn't keep the emotion out of my voice. She was the only person who could have the answers I needed. She smiled. "Yes my dear. I am. And I hear her powers have awakened, though they still seem weak. That’s why I’m here – to train you and help you become the future queen of the lycanthropes.” Eleanora's voice was sincere, melodious and almost mesmerizing. It's the kind of voice that keeps any creature under its control. “How can I be sure you’re not an imposter? A witch that the hunters sent after me?” I asked, insecurity taking over. “You have every right to be wary of me, but please believe that I am here for your good and your good alone.” She seemed genuine, but could I trust her? Yes. She's not a threat to any of us, Rhea said, and we relaxed a little. “Can you really teach me how to control my powers?” I asked. “O
CHLOE “What is the purpose of your visit here, Eleanora?” Aaron asked. After our meeting outside, Aaron took me, Eleanora and Remus straight to his office and asked Mrs Kala to bring drinks for us Eleanora, peculiar, just asked for a kettle of boiled water. She took out some kind of herbal infusion from her bag and made tea for herself. “I’m here to help my goddaughter,” she replied nonchalantly. “Goddaughter?” Aaron and I said at the same time. "Yes. Her parents did me the honor of naming me her godmother,” she said with a warm look at me. “But why now, after all these years? Before we started looking into Chloe's mother's past, we had no idea you existed,” said Remus. “I had to go on a long trip, but as soon as I heard about my dear Rebecca's death, I sent someone to look after you. Of course, I didn’t expect her to become her father’s second chance.” I couldn't help the loud sigh that escaped my lips. “Montana...” I said as a lone tear ran down my cheek. I hadn't mentioned
**Chloe"You may have power, Wendell," I said, "but I have something you'll never understand. I have loyalty, love, and the strength of my pack behind me." With a roar, Wendell attacked me, his eyes blazing with fury. But I held my ground, ready to face him head-on.We clashed, each of us using all our strength to gain an advantage. Wendell was a formidable opponent, but I refused to back down. As we fought, I could feel Rhea vibrating in my chest. She was eager to join the battle, eager to sink her teeth into our enemy. Finally, Wendell stumbled, and I saw my chance. With a flick of my wrist, I sent a fireball at him. It hit him square in the chest, and he fell to the ground, writhing in agony. I approached him cautiously, my heart heavy with the knowledge of what I had done. I never wanted to kill, but sometimes the only answer to evil is to end it."Why, Wendell?" I asked, my voice softening. "Why did you do all this?" He looked at me, his eyes filled with pain."My family," he sa
AARON"Rory!" I shouted, following behind. I wasn't going to let her face the witches alone! But the witches weren't doing anything. Instead, they just looked at her with confusion in their eyes."Who are you?" one of them asked."It was me who put an antidote vial in your dinner and made it taste bland. I'm sorry for that," she straightened her shoulders. "Wendell was poisoning you.""I knew it," said the witch we heard seconds ago. "Poison ivy and nightshade."Chloe nodded breathlessly. "We have more antidote. We can give it to you and help your kind heal." The witches were now listening attentively."All I ask is that you return to our pack mansion and help us. We're under attack by Wendell and his hunters. We need your strength.""What do we gain from this? Otherwise, you won't give us the antidote?" Chloe threw our entire stock to them. I almost shouted, but I kept my composure."That's yours," she said. "I would never hide it from you. You deserve to be whole. I just want you to
The trees seemed to close in around me, their branches twisting and turning like gnarled fingers. The air was thick with the smell of damp earth and decomposing leaves. A low-lying mist hovered, obscuring my vision and making navigation on the winding path ahead challenging. It was as if the forest were alive, watching every move I made, waiting for me to let my guard down.A strange energy pulsed in the air, a low, almost inaudible hum impossible to ignore. Sometimes, the mist would dissipate, revealing glimpses of strange and deformed trees that seemed to have been shaped by ancient magic.Whispers in the wind, voices that seemed to call my name. It was as if I had stumbled upon a secret world, a place where the veil between the living and the dead was thin and permeable. The sun began to set, casting long shadows on the forest floor. "Let's camp here," Aaron whispered, uneasy. "It would be imprudent to hunt witches in the middle of the night." Nodding, I anointed the grass around h
ChloeThe trees towered above me, their branches stretching towards the sky. The scent of wildflowers filled the air. But as I ventured deeper into the forest, a sense of unease crept over me. Perhaps exploring alone wasn't such a good idea.I froze; my heart raced as a branch snapped in the undergrowth. I waited to see what would emerge. Then, without warning, a massive black wolf emerged from a bush and advanced straight toward me. With my heart pounding, I braced for the worst. But as the wolf approached, it stopped and looked at me with a gentle, almost human-like light in its eyes. Before I could react, it turned and disappeared into the depths of the forest. What was that? What just happened? My mind was a maze as I returned to the castle.I walked down the corridor towards the east wing, excitement building in my chest. Whatever happened, the library had become my sanctuary. I couldn't wait to explore the opulent space, rich in history and knowledge.Passing through the heavy w
The world was bathed in a golden light, and there, at the end of what seemed to be a vast meadow, were my mother and Selene, holding hands. I approached them, my heart full of admiration."Good job." My mother smiled. "We knew you could do it."Selene clapped her hands. "And now, because you believed, you've opened yourself to the greatest gift of all." My eyes gleamed as she handed me a ring with a unique moonstone."Whenever times get tough, dear daughter, plant your lips on this stone," she whispered, placing the ring on my index finger. This will connect your heart to mine through a silvery thread.I was momentarily blinded by the ring's glow, then my mother tenderly kissed my forehead. In this realm, she was very tangible."It's time for you to go."I looked at her eagerly, savoring every little detail. I had to store her in my memory, to cling to every bit of beauty her form contained."I wish I could take you with me." This was the child in me, saying things that reflected the
AaronRory dragged me away before I could say anything else to Eleanor, or mistreat her, just to be sure. She waited until we were in our room."What was that?" she growled. "How did you know what we were talking about?"I shuffled my feet. I didn't want her to know that I had mentally connected with her without her consent. But she had been so down in the past few days that I just wanted to know if I could help. She interpreted my silence as the worst."When are you going to stop playing?" she shouted at me, clenching her fists. "Whenever you stop this madness," I retorted. "Are you insane? How can you think that death is the answer? That witch is lying to you."Chloe turned towards the door, ready to storm out in anger. I grabbed her hand and pulled her towards me."Please, Rory, please, listen to me.""Just leave me alone."**The annual Iliamna fair was in full swing as I walked through the bustling crowd, still weighed down by the last encounter with Chloe. The aroma of fried doug
He responded with calm determination, his eyes never leaving mine."You're weak, Aaron," I spat. "If you run, it means you're choosing your own life over hers. You're not a true alpha!"Aaron's eyes gleamed, and he growled, "I am a true alpha.""And I will never leave Chloe. She is my mate, my love, my everything."We continued to fight, our bodies colliding and exploding with ferocity. The forest trembled with the strength of our magic and limbs, and the air was thick with the smell of sweat and blood.Suddenly, we were interrupted by a voice, and we both turned to see Chloe standing behind us, her eyes wide with fear and confusion."Stop this! Both of you! This isn't helping anyone!"Aaron and I halted, our eyes still locked on each other. Slowly, we lowered our hands, and the magic dissipated. We stood in silence, panting, our bodies tense and ready to fight.Chloe took a step forward, her eyes moving from me to Aaron and back. "What's happening?" she asked, her voice trembling.Aa
"So, you might want to return this baby to where she belongs." I sighed, exhausted. "What's wrong with these hunters, Kala? How can they separate children from their homes?"Her voice trembled as she replied, "Heartless, that's what they are."I nodded. I had more business to take care of. — "I'll trust you to ensure she gets home safely. Do you know where Eleanor is?""I saw her heading towards the northern edge of the forest, Alpha. She seemed determined to walk by moonlight. She's funny."I growled in frustration. The last thing I wanted to do was wander through the forest now. I wanted to be with Chloe. Cronnos suffered for her, and so did I. But I needed this to happen too. Because what if this was the antidote? What if this could help bring the witches' collective to our side? It would be a significant victory against Wendell.I looked at my clothes. Sure enough, I had the baby's hair on my shirt. Well, the final ingredient, ready. So, I gathered the ingredients and headed to th
She was all alchemy, magic flying at the tips of her fingers, her touch was fire and soul. I pulled her close and kissed her back, letting my tongue dance against hers. Our hands rose to embrace each other, mine firmly entwined around her waist. She sighed my name. Before I realized it, I laid her down on the ground, and my lips were on her nose, eyes closed, forehead and neck, traveling up to the delightful curves of her chest."I love you," I murmured against her neck, lovingly licking the place where I marked her as mine. "I love you today, tomorrow, and in a thousand other universes.""Well, isn't that touching?" The mature and melodious voice sounded as if someone had stabbed a knife into a stone. I gritted my teeth and sat up.Chloe seemed visibly disturbed. "Eleanor! I thought you had retired for the night."She looked from her to me, disapproval and a strange gleam in her eyes. "Yes, but the night was so beautiful that I felt like a walk was in order."Why did she always have
