CHLOE

After agreeing to go on a date with Max, I returned home, still not knowing if it was a good idea or not.

After all, I was still mated to Aaron

When I opened the door, someone hit it with their hand and pushed me against the wall.

Closing my eyes with sudden force as my back hit the wall. When I opened them, Aaron trapped me between the wall and his body. His eyes had a menacing gleam that I had never seen before. They were a deep shade of blue, not the normal baby blue I was used to.

“What the hell is this—”

But he put his hand over my mouth, shushing me when he started smelling me. What the hell? Let me go!, I mentally connected to him.

He lifted his head to look at me as he growled. That's when I realized it wasn't Aaron, but Cronnos who had taken command.

I managed to get his hand out of my mouth.

“Cronnos. Let Aaron take back control, now,” I ordered him.

He didn't move, however, and his glare turned into pure lust. I knew what that meant.

I could feel the sparks

I turned my attention to Max's message. “I'm more anxious about the consequences of this,” I told myself. I felt like I was going to throw up all my breakfast. Instead, I looked at the remaining texts, which were from Emma. I snorted. As usual, so authoritative. Well, I didn't need to meet Max until five o'clock. Which would give me more than enough time to think about what to say to him. I had to find a way to make it not sound so harsh, but still enough for him to understand that I could never there is an “us” between us.. ** CHLOE The hours passed painfully quickly. I sat at home, thinking about whether or not I should pretend to be sick and not go to the date. But then I imagine Max getting hurt because I dumped him, and I couldn't bring myself to do it. Max has been nothing but sweet to me since the first time I met him He took care of me, gave me a shoulder to cry on when Aaron treated me—his own partner—like trash. Why couldn't I have been mated with Max? Why was the Mo

“Thanks for the day, Max. I really had a great time.” I said before running out of there. It would take me at least forty minutes to walk to the bus station Emma would freak out, and I would never hear the end of her rant about me being late “Rors, wait! I’ll take you to the station in my car.” Max said, catching up to me easily. “It's okay. You don't have to do that,” I said. I really didn't want to spend any more time with him. It was already strange up until then "Everything is fine. I'll take you there, it will be much faster. Also, I assume your friend is coming with bags, and as far as I remember, you don’t have a car.” He moved his keys in front of me And he was right. “Okay,” I said. He smiled and led me across the parking lot to where his Jeep was parked. It was a Wrangler model, all black with huge wheels. I jumped into the passenger seat and we headed towards the bus station. I imagined Emma furious as she waited for me at the police station. Thank the Goddess, the jo

She patted my shoulder. “Remus, Max, Emma and I will always be ready to support you, no matter what.” “Thank you, Aspen. I will remember this." I gave her a reassuring smile, which she returned before heading back into the crowd. I turned and leaned my hands on the table. Stifling a sigh of frustration. I lifted my head and looked out the window at the dense forest beyond the yard. It felt so lonely and scary out there. I felt like someone was watching me. I thought I saw a blonde woman darting deeper into the forest. Delancy? -I asked myself What is she doing here? Rhea growled. I don't know, but it's dangerous for her to be in the forest. We don't know who is kidnapping the gang members. Oh, please. If they kidnap her, they will be doing all werewolves a favor. - Rhea replied, rolling her eyes. I personally agreed with her, but my protective instincts got the better of me, so I quickly ran through the crowd, unnoticed, as everyone's attention was on the new beta couple. The

A dozen more hunters exploded above the trees, all of them holding guns or bows with arrows. They shot at Aaron, but he managed to dodge as he ran toward me and Delancy. Climb! -I heard Aaron's voice command my head. I quickly climbed onto his broad wolf back and grabbed as tight as I could into his fur. “Aaron! What about me? Aren’t you going to help me too?” Delancy whimpered. Cronnos just glared at her before huffing and running off. "Hang on! Aaron!” It was the last thing we heard before a round of gunshots rang out behind us. Cronnos quickly ran through the dense forest. Dodging every tree in our path. I held on tight, so I wouldn't fall. “Aaron, we could have saved Delancy,” I scolded him. You're impressive), I heard his exasperated voice in my head. I? Why ? I asked Delancy literally sold you to those hunters and here you are arguing why I didn't save her skin?! She was lucky I didn't bite her head off! Aaron growled. I still couldn't help but feel bad for Delancy. Ye

“There's nothing you can do, princess.” Wendell finally showed his face as he stepped out of the shadows of the trees. The moon was the only source of light. “What did you do to him?” I growled, feeling my blood boil at the sight of him. “Your partner is in a trance, thanks to the potion the witches threw at you. I'm surprised it didn't knock you both out, but it doesn't seem to have any effect on you,” Wendell said, sneering. “I'm sure it has something to do with that witch, Eleanor, who raised your mother. But now Aaron has succumbed to his true nature. A wild beast!” Aaron ran after me, trying to bite my arm with his powerful jaws, but I managed to avoid him, jumping over him. I quickly ran to the nearest tree, needing to get to a high place. A human blocked my path, his gun pointed at me, and a witch created some kind of lasso that Cronnos avoided. "Don't shoot! Let’s make them fight," Wendell commanded his henchman. “This is a sight to behold. The alpha is about to destroy his

AARON “The doctor's diagnosis was that the mixture the witches threw in was a combination of dogkill and nightingale serum,” Remus explained. “He said it wasn't a strong dose of dogkill, so it wasn't that harmful, but the affected pack members may be debilitated for a few days,” he continued. We sat in my office, assessing the situation that occurred the night before. He and I took less damage than the rest of the pack. Max was seriously injured because he received most of the scams aimed at his newfound partner, who happened to be Chloe's best friend. What were the chances? “There haven’t been many casualties so far?” I asked my gamma, inspecting the papers the pack doctor had sent me. “Very few, alpha. Just the trackers and warriors who were on guard and Delancy Wilhelm,” he replied. He hesitated. “We still haven’t been able to contact the Blue Moon gang. My guess is that the pack disbanded when Delancy failed in her task.” I was also sure that was the case. So far, our attempts

"Don't be so sure about it, Chloe. You were lucky last night, but that hunter is far from defeated. He's determined to exterminate your kind forever." “My species?” I repeated "Royal members." I hesitated a little with your pronouncement . We already suspected this, but I heard her confirm... “How are you so sure,” I asked her. “I'm a witch, Chloe. And gossip travels quickly among my kind.” She winked at me and rolled up her sleeves. “So, have you mastered any elements so far?” “Element?” I had to ask. What did she mean by that? “As a member of royalty, you have the power to control the elements Earth, wind, fire and water. Once you master all four, you will be the most powerful wolf in all of creation,” she explained. This explains the purple flames and the what you did to Delancy, Rhea butted in. “Does that mean I’ll be able to walk on water and stuff?” I asked, excited by the prospect of being able to do incredible things. She laughed. “Well, I’m not sure about walking on

“So, Mr. Alpha, would you mind explaining to me why you treated my Chloe the way you did when she found out you two were partners?” she asked, taking a sip of her tea. “It was a misunderstanding, but we're getting over it. this,” Aaron said with a serious expression. Are you kidding me! We are not even close to getting over this! “So, is it okay for you to make fun of my little girl, running around with another wolf, harassing her and even threatening to turn her into a renegade? However, you question whether my intentions are sincere or not?” Eleanora's skin tone changed to a pale green. She seemed to be transforming into some unknown creature. Then his eyes turned gold and the house began to shake. Aaron, Remus and I stood up, on guard. What little sunlight came through the windows was quickly covered by rumbling clouds, casting an ominous shadow inside Aaron's office. If not for our enhanced vision, I might not have seen the beast transforming before us. “You were gifted with

**Chloe"You may have power, Wendell," I said, "but I have something you'll never understand. I have loyalty, love, and the strength of my pack behind me." With a roar, Wendell attacked me, his eyes blazing with fury. But I held my ground, ready to face him head-on.We clashed, each of us using all our strength to gain an advantage. Wendell was a formidable opponent, but I refused to back down. As we fought, I could feel Rhea vibrating in my chest. She was eager to join the battle, eager to sink her teeth into our enemy. Finally, Wendell stumbled, and I saw my chance. With a flick of my wrist, I sent a fireball at him. It hit him square in the chest, and he fell to the ground, writhing in agony. I approached him cautiously, my heart heavy with the knowledge of what I had done. I never wanted to kill, but sometimes the only answer to evil is to end it."Why, Wendell?" I asked, my voice softening. "Why did you do all this?" AARON"Rory!" I shouted, following behind. I wasn't going to let her face the witches alone! But the witches weren't doing anything. Instead, they just looked at her with confusion in their eyes."Who are you?" one of them asked."It was me who put an antidote vial in your dinner and made it taste bland. I'm sorry for that," she straightened her shoulders. "Wendell was poisoning you.""I knew it," said the witch we heard seconds ago. "Poison ivy and nightshade."Chloe nodded breathlessly. "We have more antidote. We can give it to you and help your kind heal." The witches were now listening attentively."All I ask is that you return to our pack mansion and help us. We're under attack by Wendell and his hunters. We need your strength.""What do we gain from this? Otherwise, you won't give us the antidote?" Chloe threw our entire stock to them. I almost shouted, but I kept my composure."That's yours," she said. "I would never hide it from you. You deserve to be whole. I just want you to

The trees seemed to close in around me, their branches twisting and turning like gnarled fingers. The air was thick with the smell of damp earth and decomposing leaves. A low-lying mist hovered, obscuring my vision and making navigation on the winding path ahead challenging. It was as if the forest were alive, watching every move I made, waiting for me to let my guard down.A strange energy pulsed in the air, a low, almost inaudible hum impossible to ignore. Sometimes, the mist would dissipate, revealing glimpses of strange and deformed trees that seemed to have been shaped by ancient magic.Whispers in the wind, voices that seemed to call my name. It was as if I had stumbled upon a secret world, a place where the veil between the living and the dead was thin and permeable. The sun began to set, casting long shadows on the forest floor. "Let's camp here," Aaron whispered, uneasy. "It would be imprudent to hunt witches in the middle of the night." Nodding, I anointed the grass around h

ChloeThe trees towered above me, their branches stretching towards the sky. The scent of wildflowers filled the air. But as I ventured deeper into the forest, a sense of unease crept over me. Perhaps exploring alone wasn't such a good idea.I froze; my heart raced as a branch snapped in the undergrowth. I waited to see what would emerge. Then, without warning, a massive black wolf emerged from a bush and advanced straight toward me. With my heart pounding, I braced for the worst. But as the wolf approached, it stopped and looked at me with a gentle, almost human-like light in its eyes. Before I could react, it turned and disappeared into the depths of the forest. What was that? What just happened? My mind was a maze as I returned to the castle.I walked down the corridor towards the east wing, excitement building in my chest. Whatever happened, the library had become my sanctuary. I couldn't wait to explore the opulent space, rich in history and knowledge.Passing through the heavy w

The world was bathed in a golden light, and there, at the end of what seemed to be a vast meadow, were my mother and Selene, holding hands. I approached them, my heart full of admiration."Good job." My mother smiled. "We knew you could do it."Selene clapped her hands. "And now, because you believed, you've opened yourself to the greatest gift of all." My eyes gleamed as she handed me a ring with a unique moonstone."Whenever times get tough, dear daughter, plant your lips on this stone," she whispered, placing the ring on my index finger. This will connect your heart to mine through a silvery thread.I was momentarily blinded by the ring's glow, then my mother tenderly kissed my forehead. In this realm, she was very tangible."It's time for you to go."I looked at her eagerly, savoring every little detail. AaronRory dragged me away before I could say anything else to Eleanor, or mistreat her, just to be sure. She waited until we were in our room."What was that?" she growled. "How did you know what we were talking about?"I shuffled my feet. I didn't want her to know that I had mentally connected with her without her consent. But she had been so down in the past few days that I just wanted to know if I could help. She interpreted my silence as the worst."When are you going to stop playing?" she shouted at me, clenching her fists. "Whenever you stop this madness," I retorted. "Are you insane? How can you think that death is the answer? That witch is lying to you."Chloe turned towards the door, ready to storm out in anger. He responded with calm determination, his eyes never leaving mine."You're weak, Aaron," I spat. "If you run, it means you're choosing your own life over hers. You're not a true alpha!"Aaron's eyes gleamed, and he growled, "I am a true alpha.""And I will never leave Chloe. She is my mate, my love, my everything."We continued to fight, our bodies colliding and exploding with ferocity. The forest trembled with the strength of our magic and limbs, and the air was thick with the smell of sweat and blood.Suddenly, we were interrupted by a voice, and we both turned to see Chloe standing behind us, her eyes wide with fear and confusion."Stop this! Both of you! This isn't helping anyone!"Aaron and I halted, our eyes still locked on each other. Slowly, we lowered our hands, and the magic dissipated. We stood in silence, panting, our bodies tense and ready to fight.Chloe took a step forward, her eyes moving from me to Aaron and back. "What's happening?" she asked, her voice trembling.Aa

"So, you might want to return this baby to where she belongs." I sighed, exhausted. "What's wrong with these hunters, Kala? How can they separate children from their homes?"Her voice trembled as she replied, "Heartless, that's what they are."I nodded. I had more business to take care of. — "I'll trust you to ensure she gets home safely. Do you know where Eleanor is?""I saw her heading towards the northern edge of the forest, Alpha. She seemed determined to walk by moonlight. She's funny."I growled in frustration. The last thing I wanted to do was wander through the forest now. I wanted to be with Chloe.
