But if you feel angry, angry or disappointed, know that even though I'm gone, I'll be there for you.

Don't let your feelings stop you from seeing the blessings that surround you.

Ask the Moon Goddess to allow you to see where your mother and I saw you, and you will become the person you want to be...

A reflection on your parents. For yours acts as your true partner.

With all the air that exists my action,

Daddy.

I became a waterfall again, but now the tears were tears of happiness.

Dad was right. Being sad and crying was a waste of energy.

As much as it was for me, it must have been a shock for Alpha Aaron to find out we were partners.

Maybe, with time, he would be able to accept this.

I just had to be patient.

Aaron

A maid.

An omega is my rubbish partner?!

This has to be a joke!

I paced back and forth in my office, trying to come to terms with what had just happened.

I mean, I was an alpha, for God's sake. My lineage is very old, it is a long succession of noble leaders.

So why the hell did the Moon Goddess pair me with a common maid?

I kicked my chair so hard that it shattered against the wall.

- Damn it! — I sat at my desk, trying to calm down.

—What the hell is wrong with you, boy? — Cronnos spoke to my conscience.

- Not now. — I closed my eyes and lowered my head, counting to ten to calm myself before I did any more damage.

— Oh no, don't you dare, you little cretin. For nine years I had to stay here, waiting for my partner to show up. And now that it has finally emerged, are you going to run away like a coward? — Cronnos growled.

— Get up and go after her. She is hurt. I can feel her pain,” he said. A flash of the girl's innocent gray eyes, brimming with shock and tears, came to my mind. I suddenly felt embarrassed.

I guess I shouldn't have talked to her like that.

I shook my head, denying it.

— She's a waste of time. I can't accept someone like her as my Luna. I have no choice. I need to reject her,” I thought back to my wolf.

“Don't you dare or I swear to the Goddess I'll bite your royal ass,” Cronnos growled in my head.

I ignored him. There was no other way. I had to do this.

— Remus... I need you here in my office immediately, — I connected telepathically with my gamma.

I would have called Max, but he was still drunk as a skunk, so I couldn't count on him.

“I'm on my way, alpha,” Remus replied almost instantly. Five minutes later, he was knocking on the door.

“Remus, I need the full name and a background check on one of the maids who worked at the gala tonight,” I said, as he stared in amazement at the mess I'd made.

— I'll ask Luna for the records of all the maids. Are you looking for something specific,” he asked.

My mind immediately went back to her beautiful gray eyes.

— Gray eyes and brown hair, — I replied.

“Very well,” he nodded. — When do you need it, alpha?

- Tomorrow morning.

Chloe

The day dawned, with a bright sun to contrast with my gloomy mood. I kept my father's words in my head and did my best not to think about the terrible night I had.

I took a shower and looked for something to wear, I was going back to the leader's house to return the uniform.

And also to confront Alpha Aaron about last night.

What's the worst thing that could happen? I thought to myself.

If he doesn't like me, he can reject me. Then we will both move on.

But the thought of being rejected by him made me shudder.

If he turned his back on me, I would be without a partner for the rest of my life — unlike him, who has the power to choose someone else, even without a connection.

As an alpha, he could reject any wolf the Moon Goddess designated as his mate.

What if he rejects me? I asked myself as a bead of cold sweat ran down my temple.

— He won't reject you. Relax. Just talk to him,” Rhea tried to reassure me.

—Chloe! Could you come here for a moment? — Aunt shouted from downstairs.

“I'm coming,” I replied. I brushed my hair and put a clip in to hold my bangs. It was starting to get really long.

I inherited my mother's long, silky hair and fair skin, and I gained my father's brown locks and gray eyes. I was a complete mix of the two.

—Chloe! Come down right now! — Aunt shouted once again.

— Argh! What's her problem early on? — I grumbled. I took the bag with the carefully folded uniform and my cell phone and left the room.

— What do you want, Monta..., — the rest of the words caught in my throat when my eyes connected with the icy blue eyes that stared at me.

“A-Alpha Aaron,” I said, breathless and surprised. He was standing in the middle of our small room, with his gamma and Luna.

“Chloe, have more respect,” Montana hissed beside me, waking me from my trance.

— Oh, I'm sorry. Good morning, Alpha Aaron, Gamma Remus, Luna,” I said, bowing my head in respect.

— Mrs. Craton, we're here to retrieve something you took from the gala last night. We won't accuse her of theft, but we will make it a warning,” said Gamma Remus.

— Um... something I picked up? I didn't catch anything. — I was shocked and confused. What were they talking about?

“Um, you took your uniform with you last night, honey,” Luna clarified.

— Oh! And that? I was about to take him back...,” I started to say, but was interrupted by alpha Aaron.

— Theft is not tolerated in this gang, Miss Craton. You're lucky we're just warning you this time. Next time, the whip will be your punishment and we will lock you in the dungeon for a month!

I turned to look at the only familiar figure I had left. “I don't want to leave you alone,” I told her. And it was true. Even though Montana and I didn't always see eye to eye, she was the one who raised me and took care of me after my father died. “I'll be fine, honey. I'm sure the alpha will allow us to meet. I highly doubted that. — I'm sorry, darling. But we must hurry,” Luna interrupted us. I ignored her and continued looking at aunt. “It's going to be okay, Chloe,” Montana said. — Go ahead and pack your things. We don't want to make the alpha angry. I thought about it. Make that man angry. What difference would it make? He was always irritated. Even so, I shook my head and went up to my room to pack my things, collecting everything I would need, before leaving the place I always called home. As soon as I finished packing my things, I went downstairs and caught part of the conversation between Luna and Montana. —He accused her of stealing yesterday! Why does he want he

Chloe — Okay, honey, here we are. Your new home,” Luna said as we walked down the huge hallway that led to the stairs. We find beta and gamma at the end of the steps. — She's finally here! — shouted the blond. He walked over and picked up my suitcase. — Welcome, Chloe. I look forward to meeting the girl who caught our alpha's eye,” he said, holding out his free hand. — Um, hi, beta Maximus. — I tried to bow, but I was stopped halfway down. — You don't need to be so formal with me. You can call me Max.” He gave me a wink, but was pushed away by Gamma. — You've introduced yourself enough, Max. The girl must be scared enough without your flirting. Miss Craton, I'm Remus Bowman. Welcome to the leader's house. He pushed his glasses up as he spoke, a blunder. “Th-thank you, Gamma Bowman,” I replied, bowing my head. — The alpha requested you as a personal maid. I suspected there would be no point in arguing with her about dinner, so I just sighed and nodded. — Arrange your room however you like. I'll come and check on you later, honey,” Luna said. — Thank you, Luna. The elderly woman left, leaving me alone in the huge room, which was decorated with pastel paint and white decorations. In the center, there was a queen size bed with simple white sheets. On one of the walls there was a small fireplace lit to keep the room warm. Next to the bed was a lovely white chair where I could imagine myself reading. And, right behind the chair, there was a glass door with thick curtains that led to the balcony. On the wall opposite the bed, there was a huge TV installed between two doors, hanging above the chimney. The first door opened into a spacious bathroom, which had a beautiful marble bathtub and a shower next to it. The wall had a huge mirror, and the counter was long enough to seat four people. The second door must have been a closet. Each
