Chapter 2: Fate Works in Strange Ways

At dawn, Suzy awoke to find the man next to her still sound asleep. His powerful arm enveloped her entirely, and his steady breath lightly teased her neck.

Aching and tingling sensations surged between her legs as the last traces of drunkenness dissipated, and her rationality returned.

What had she done?

...She had actually slept with the CEO!

Suzy's breath caught in her throat, and she carefully withdrew from his embrace, then hurriedly got out of bed, put on her clothes, packed her belongings, and rushed out of room 1501 as if her life depended on it, heading straight to the hotel reception to book another room.

As she was making the payment on her phone, she suddenly realized that the one she had asked for the adult films from wasn’t Wendy, but Liam!

A few years ago, during a middle school reunion, the class monitor created a group chat, encouraging everyone to add each other as friends. Suzy still remembered clearly that it was Liam who added her first. However, after accepting, he never said a word, and she only assigned him a nickname.

And now, this happened!

She sat in the newly booked room, trying to calm herself down. Then, she took out her phone and left the middle school group chat, changing her name from "Suzy" to "Lily" and replacing her profile picture with an image of a girl she found online.

She didn't delete him because that might have exposed her instead, and luckily, the Room 1501 had been reserved by the company, making it untraceable.

This approach would ensure that he remained unaware of her true identity!

After this quick operation, she finally managed to get some sleep.

The next morning, the alarm went off early, and Suzy had to accompany the manager, Desmond Shaw, to Transcend Enterprises to discuss additional funding for the convertible bond project. The net asset value of this project had fallen below the stop-loss line, and the other party demanded more investment, or they would sell off the securities.

It was an urgent matter, which was why their investment department had the privilege of traveling with the CEO on his private jet to Newton City for this business trip.

After getting ready, she hurried to the hotel lobby with the documents.

Shortly after, Wendy also joined them, expressing her frustration, "Mr. Shaw was insistent that FortuneWave had no plans to invest more funds at the time. However, when I reviewed the contract at the trust company, his name was undeniably recorded on the photocopy!"

"All right, Mr. Shaw is about to arrive. Don't let him overhear us," Suzy whispered to Wendy as they stood to the side. Before she could continue, she noticed a tall figure emerging from the elevator, surrounded by a crowd.

It was Liam.

He had changed out of the bathrobe from the previous night and was now dressed in a well-tailored black suit. His thick eyebrows were slightly furrowed, and his thin lips pressed tightly together as if he were listening to a report from his secretary, not sparing a glance in their direction.

Liam's aloofness was well-known in the business world. His sharply defined, handsome face was always tense, exuding an air of arrogance and prestige. He spoke sparingly, and his mere presence could chill the surrounding air.

Suzy tried to recall the man from last night, the one who had kissed away her tears so gently, but it seemed like a delusion.

"Mr. Park is incredibly handsome. If I could spend one night with him, it would be worth it even if I died afterward!" Wendy remarked, oblivious to Suzy's stiffness. "You know, Suzy, we share the same last name, but why is there such a huge difference in appearance? Hey, Suzy, what are you daydreaming about?"

She poked Suzy's arm, and Suzy snapped back to reality, taking a step back, trying to avoid Liam.

But just as Liam and the group of shareholders' secretaries approached the entrance, they suddenly stopped, standing not far from the two of them!

He glanced down with a subtle movement of his eyelids and then said to his secretary in a low voice, "Find out who stayed in room 1501 last night."

When she heard those numbers, Suzy immediately felt as if her legs were weighted down, making it impossible for her to move!

Her mind buzzed, and all she could hear was Wendy excitedly chiming in beside her.

"Room 1501? Mr. Park, last night it was Suzy who stayed in room 1501!"
