Erica still looked slender and fragile, and the ends of her hair seemed brittle and yellowed. Amidst the heavy metallic scent of blood lingering in the air, her body wobbled before she collapsed to the ground.

Hannah's heart hammered against her chest. She hurried two steps forward and got a hold of Erica.

"M-Ms. Emerson…" Her face was ashen, and the color drained from her lips. Blood was trickling down the corner of her mouth as she flashed a weak smile at Hannah. Grabbing her hands, she stuttered, "A-Are you okay? D-Did you…Did you get hurt?"

"I'm fine. I'm not hurt." Hannah tightened her grip on her hands as she heard her stammering. A pang of helplessness surged in her chest.

She couldn't tell whether it was a hallucination or Erica's hands were gradually turning cold. Her vigor seemed to have seeped out from her body.

Panicking, she asked hastily, "How did you show up? Erica, y-you should stop talking… The ambulance will be here shortly. Don't worry."
